For whatever reason, I could not get the file sharing to work as you explained. So, I ended up leaving the UTM setup wizard Shared Directory screen blank and configuring my mbp (Ventura) for File Sharing and using the Other Locations section in Ubuntu's Files app to connect to mbp (mbp File Sharing screen provides the server connect screen you use in the Ubuntu Files > Connect to Server window). Works perfectly. Thanks again for a concise, informative setup tutorial.

Right now my UTM VM for Ubuntu is not starting up and it's stuck on the boot page. Any idea on how I could fix this problem? It seems to be stuck in that state forever. I suspect the cause of this problem is that when I turned off the VM, I did it straight from the top using the power button without accounting for any lost changes, etc.
Hi, I followed your installation guide but I have a persistent problem: neither Firefox nor Chromium are working. When I launch any of the two browsers, it loads the icon and the message "Firefox Web Browser Mozilla firefox is ready" appears, but it just keeps displaying that message in a loop and doesn't show any page (the same happens with Chromium). Do you have any idea what problem I might be having?

make sure you are running the VM in full screen mode, then go to settings, display and change the resolution, If you see 2800 * 1600 (16:10) use that resolution and set scale value to 200%.

first of all make sure you are running ubuntu with Xorg session. Then open terminal and type sudo apt purge snapd. Then restart and install Firefox or chromium with apt

remove snapd and instal Firefox again also make sure you are using XORG desktop session not Wayland. To switch to XORG, logout, click on the username then from the bottom right choose settings gear.
I ma sorry. But Just for algorithm I Used that Title, There is no misleading. In the first minute I mentioned clearly running on virtual machine. Compared to Asahi linux that runs on bare metal, you almost experience the same on VM thanks to ARM64.

Since then I've moved to Parallels and I got work done with the trial version. So far my experience with Parallels has been nothing short of just great. Did you have connected to internet in MacOS right ?
Then inside ubuntu, drag down the system controls, select wired network click on connect.
