Excellent video. Happy to see our distinguished leader is willing and capable of digging in to fix the Porsche. Great instruction!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another feather in the PCA s cap. You really make sound so easy.First class instruction on this job.The car still looks fine after all these years and mileage.
excellent video Vu - Only comment is when torquing down the circumferential pump bolts - a star pattern tightening sequence would insure a better leveling onto the gasket than working from top to bottom. Minor point. Great job and thanks !!!
Thanks for sharing I thought so too, but was told to do in the sequence I showed.
Great DIY video. Camera work was nicely done. It's not easy to do.
Thank you very much! Hopefully folks will now have a better understanding of what it takes to complete the job.
Good job Vu. Great DIY video. Keep ‘em coming.
Very informative.
Another fun fix on a 2006 Cayenne is the oil pump
How does one know when the oil pump needs to be replaced?
@@PorscheClubofAmerica when Ludacris sang " check out the oil my Cadillac spills" I think he was definitely referring to the Porsche Cayenne oil pump. After the monsoon we had here in Maryland last week I had noticed major oil leakage all over the road . Once getting up under the Porsche, we had traced the oil leakage to right around where the oil cooler is located.
Sourcing the oil pump can be quite a challenge. To the tune of $700 and the 7 to 10 days out of Germany. Also don't forget about the plethora of gaskets and O-rings needed for this job. Part are being installed tomorrow will let you know how it goes.
Will also be replacing the rear main seal sometime in the near future. Let me know if you'd like to do a collab as I'm here in Columbia, MD.
@@PorscheClubofAmerica looks like baby is getting a new heart transplant. No compression in cylinder number two
Fantastic Video. Is this process the same on a gen 2 with the 4.8?
We have not done one, but experts say it should be relatively similar job.
I bought a gallon of Porsche coolant for my 1974 Porsche 911 Targa 2.7 and can’t find where to fill it up ? I can’t even find where the water pump is ? Think I’ll pull the motor and take a closer look. The dealer quoted me $650 to replace the water pump and one way or another I’m doing it myself
Be sure to refill your halogen fluid while you're at it ;)
