Origami Basket You Never Knew You Needed #5 MYOG

A useful little origami basket that can be used to line mess tins to prevent burning among other things like keeping track of stuff around camp. Build from plain paper, parchment or aluminium foil. Very easy to put together, compact and cheap. What's not to like? Tell me in the comment section.

Good idea! I especially like the idea that the basket can be ready-made but stored completely flat. Could make stove insert for fluid alkohol for bcb stove. When using tyvek as a material it will be sturdy, waterproof and reusable many times.

I have a video showing a pair of simpley constructed burners for a bcb stove.

I use two to boil and one to simmer.
But i think you are onto something with these baskets for bcb stoves. The gel can pour iut of the gaps due to the folded construction. Thus happened to me first time i used one. It would make getting rid of the deposit left from the gel a lot easier.
