I gave birth without any medication twice .This was forty years ago.I had little or no intervention from medical staff but simply went inside myself and relaxed into the intense contractions.I did this with out any actual birth training. It happened by itself.I did not have to actively push by body simply took over and expelled both my large babies all by itself. It was a primal and unforgettable experience and I will never forget the sheer wonder of how this now 68 year old body did its job.I was up and about with in a couple of hours and had virtually no postpartum bleeding.Truly magical.
To all of the women who have been or are currently going through this congratulations and I wish you a safe and healthy and happy delivery then a lifetime of wonderful memories!
My first time labour took a total of 12 hours from the first contraction to baby's arrival and with a pushing time of 10 minutes. No tearing or pain medication. I credit the successful delivery thanks to this channel as I've done your exercises throughout my pregnancy. Thank you!
@broadwaystr92990 I was at home until my water broke after 11 hours of contractions. My baby came 40 minutes after I arrived at the hospital. The staff didn't believe me when I said that the baby was coming (because it was my first baby). I had a midwife joining me during the last 15 minutes. For my next pregnancy, I would want to give birth at home.
You dont understand how much your channel meant to me, i’ve been pregnant with my first baby, but my baby died 1 day post birth becaause of multiple abnormality that diagnosed when i was 3 months pregnant with her, i followed your exercises to maintain my physical and psychological health until a year after birth. Now iam 5 months pregnant with my second baby and alhamdulillah the baby healthy and iam going to start with your workouts again until my postpartum journey. Please pray for my health and the baby health and a smooth delivery inshaallah.
SubhanAllah, the baby will be waiting for you in jannah inshaAllah ❤. May Allah make this pregnancy a healthy one and bless you with a healthy pious child. Take care of yourself sis
May Allah make it easy for you Allahumma Ameen! Your baby is waiting for you in Jannah In Shaa Allah, Prophet Ibraheem (alayhi salaam) is watching them for you in the meantime
My first time labour took less than 6 hours since the water broke and in less than 10 Mins, I pushed the baby out. My labour nurse was surprised with the pushing and delivery process. All the credits goes to your videos. I really enjoyed all your prenatal yoga, stretches, meditation and laboring down strategies. Thanks once again and hats off for what you do to the society.😊
Congratulations on your baby and positive birth!! YOU did it!!! 💞💞✨✨ I hope you are recovering well and lots of love to you and your sweet baby. Thank you for taking the time to share 🥰
A word of love. Some of us deliver posterior babies no matter what we do. Posterior labors are known for being longer and more painful. Many of these techniques didn't help me during both my births, including hands and knees (which was somehow the most painful of all). After watching so many positive birth vlogs, I felt like I was failing because of how much pain I was in. I did hypnobirthing. I read Ina May's book. I leaned forward all the time and worked out. I was very optimistic and excited for labor! I literally woke up with painful contractions, so it wasn't fear or tension causing my pain. If you had a similar experience, it wasn't your fault and you didn't do it wrong.
It's a grace but I have to thank God for his work in my life. I've been trying to get pregnant for 9 years and today I'm pregnant with a little boy thanks to a very effective trick. I know it can help you too because it worked for me oh
Thank you for your comment. So true. Sometimes things are different and harder for each person depending on their situation. It’s fine to say anyone can give birth even to a big baby, but there are women who have complications and end up needing interventions , and again doesn’t mean they are a failure. Each person has different circumstances and the baby has different issues. Sometimes for medical reasons the baby needs to come out no matter how. And yes sometimes it’s long and painful and these things don’t work for all. I’m Sure it’s great general advice for a lot of people and that’s fantastic, but I agree many circumstances can happen and if your story isn’t positive it’s not a flaw in you.
@@dahliamalloy2167 The trick I'm talking about is several things combined I don't know how I'm going to explain but it's thanks to the effectiveness of this trick I then got pregnant my
Thank you for this. ❤ I didn’t have a posterior baby, but I did have to be induced, which meant (a) a constant state of pain-there was no focusing on “the current contraction,” because it literally felt like one long contraction and (b) I had to be hooked up to fetal monitors the entire time. So I had to be lying down and couldn’t get up or change positions at all. (Not that I wanted to get up much when I was in a constant state of blinding pain…) For a long time, I felt as though I and my body had failed. But comments like yours help me feel not as bad. ❤
As a labor nurse, I applaud all of your suggestions! Please let's stop pushing on our backs, with our legs pulled back to our ears and while we are holding our breath! So much evidence to support much better techniques. And definitely, positively, do NOT listen to the people with the horror stories of birth! There are so many women who have had great experiences and are happy to share.
I'm so glad you feel that way!! Self directed breathing was so discouraged by the head nurse at the hospital I was delivering at and she kept yelling in my ear "you HAVE to hold your breath" I wanted to be like leave me alone and let me do my thing! I'm sure your a godsend to the women lucky enough to have you attend to them.
Why do we have to be laying on our backs to deliver out a baby in the position you said in a bed is not suggested? Can we just be at the hospital standing in a crouch position and the labor nurse catch the baby like a football 😂 sorry. First time pregnant and it seems like from all the stories I've heard home deliveries have more say in a "mom's comfort," than being told what to do at the hospital. Guess, I won't know how I'm treated til it happens. Trust in God is my approach
I dont think theres any way to do this, whatever wants to happen always happens. Nothing ever goes as planned. I was scheduled for a C-section and ended up having my baby vaginally with no tearing and no medication. It was such a blessing and i was NOT expecting that at all. God is Big!
Had a pregnancy with cervix insufficiency, and i had to stay in bed all of it, so i couldn't do the majority of the things said here in the video. BUT - there is a big BUT! While in labor, I used the square method for breathing, and I was also in the moment there 100%. It's weird to say and to hear, but I think I even enjoyed my pain at some point thinking that this is how my baby boy is coming, and I dilated very fast from 6 to 10 cm. Just by concentrating on the contractions and letting my body do its job. The pregnancy ball helped a lot. I was imagining how my womb was contracting as well while i had pain... it's insane what our brain can do. My labor and delivery lasted 5 hours and 11 minutes. Thank you for all the advice! They are amazing. You are amazing. I wish all the mothers labor and delivery like mine.
I am coming back to this video to say thank you ❤ I gave birth last week. I practiced with you the whole pregnancy every day and during labor I turned on a video with your exercises. I remember the birth wonderfully, it went very quickly, I was calm and I felt prepared. After giving birth I recovered very quickly. Thank you for all your videos! ❤ I am going to start with postpartum exercises as soon as possible 😊
I was able to have an uncomplicated unmedicated natural birth and could not have asked for a better delivery thanks to all of your tips and great preparation with your videos! I share your channel with all of my expectant moms! I would have been lost without your videos!
Congratulations on your baby and creating your positive birth!! So happy the videos were helpful and thank you for taking the time to let me know💞 It's keeps me excited to keep creating more content! I hope you are recovering well and so in love!💗
A lot of wisdom here. My first baby I was so nervous. My labor nurse (bless you Marie) told many of these tips. Don’t think about the contraction you just had, don’t think about the next one coming, just breathe through the one you’re in right now. And listen to your body. My last i labored for several hours, then got super sleepy and laid down to take a nap. I woke up 45 minutes later in transition and she came less than two hours later
I watched this the morning before I ended up giving birth (last Friday) - the techniques of breathing through the delivery and visualizing the baby moving through the birth canal really worked for me, it took 6 minutes from start to finish for little Scarlett to make it out. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you for your insight! I did the pre natal yoga for months before the birth and intend on starting post natal yoga once I feel a bit better. Thank you for all of them! Will definitely recommend to others :)
@@juliecastro5987 No! honestly it happened so fast I didn't even consider it. I went from laboring on my side with a peanut ball to oh wow the head is coming out! Good luck though :)
@@samorianne-walker9494 Oh Thank you wow! So that was your secret prenatal yoga wow that Amazing! What other things did you do did you drink the raspberry tea?
@@juliecastro5987 No, I just focused on breathing deeply every time there was a contraction, focusing on my breath and making some of the vowel noises we practice in one of the prenatal yogas. When I focused on visualizing the baby moving through the birth canal I think I triggered the delivery to start happening - I had been at 7cm just 10 minutes before and after 4-5 contractions of visualizing the baby coming out it was happening. Surreal experience! Also way better than my first birth - in terms of the labor, delivery and how I feel post partum.
My first i labored for 12 hours. It was amazing. I was induced and I breathed through those contractions and was in the zone! I dont even remember my husband being in the room. I felt so connected with my body. I told myself i am not going to make this a bad birthing experience and thats exactly what i did. No epidural however i didnt like how i felt pressured to deliver on my back. That was the hardest part. I am due in 2 months and i will do all the same but advocate i deliver not on my back. These tips are very good, thanks for sharing!
just had my 1st baby son last week, all natural vaginal birth. Your breathing techniques work wonders, thanks so much! Also the presence of my husband holding my hand all the way from the start helped so much, it made me feel calm and safe I think I can even gave birth in the middle of the forest with him around 😆
Thank you so much for all your free content! I was preparing with your workouts and educational videos the whole pregnancy. I felt so great for 9 months, the regular workouts relieved so many pregnancy discomforts and I felt physically and mentally ready for birth. I had your birth routine printed with me and my husband was taking care I see it the whole time. At the end there were some complications and I spent the whole time in bed but I was confident, calm, the pushing phase was fast and I felt I have a lot of strength. I think I could credit the ease of pushing and also the breathing techniques to the whole preparation work I did with you. Thanks again, workouts are amazing!❤
Just wanted to share my experience and thank you for your precious guidance throughout the entire pregnancy. I followed your workouts since the first trimester and continued up till the very end. I am 40 years old and this was my first pregnancy. My baby was found small for gestational age during the 7th month and I was scheduled for induction during the 40th week. My baby decided to be born naturally just the very day of the scheduled induction. I had a very long early phase but I was able to cope with pain without epidural during labour and made it in water, which helped me a lot to cope. I didn’t have any tears and I really think that all the physical work and perineal massage I had been doing helped me a lot to avoid any possible complications. So thank you so much for being a constant partner during my journey. From now on I am looking forward to starting the postpartum workouts
It means a lot to me to hear positive birth stories because so many of them that I've heard from people I know have been negative ones - I am working on a basis of accepting whatever happens as long as I get a healthy baby out of it, but I don't think that would have been possible without hearing positive birth stories and going into it with confidence that I can handle whatever comes my way!
After learning everything in prenatal class for 2 days with my first child, at the end the expert said : during labor forget you’ve learned all these, the only thing that you plant in your head is that YOU AND YOUR BABY WILL BE JUST FINE. Great mindset!
Yes! I was in therapy for anxiety before I got pregnant with my first and one thing she would always have me say once I got pregnant was “I’m ok, my baby’s ok”. It was such a simple phrase. I repeated it all through delivery when I couldn’t say anything else. I also thanked God through the toughest contractions. It helped so much.
My first time having my baby girl I did accept students with a doctor to watch my birth and it was the best decision I made! I had my personal doctor the whole time and when I was pushing and my baby wasn’t coming out, the nurse didn’t know but the doctor made sure that she called the doctor because something was wrong! Once the doctor got there he said if baby didn’t come out in 10 min I was going to have a c-section (I got induced and had to get epidural because my pain went from 2-10 - baby was in distress which is why I had to get induced) so my baby was sunny side up and doctor put his whole hand inside and turned her after that I had to push super hard for 15 seconds and I felt a lot of pain when I did that! The doctor with the student was MY PERSONAL COACH! And she gave me all the energy to push the baby she was amazing! If it wasn’t for her I don’t know what would’ve happened.
Still carrying the twins at 37 weeks! This video is very encouraging, and the workouts have been a godsend. Please keep up the great work of helping mothers-to-be.
Hi, Jessica! I want say BIG THANK YOU ❤ for all your work and videos, because it is really helped me through 4th pregnancy and delivery! Our baby boy was born 6.12.22 and he is 4 days now. It was an incredible experience! I was breathing, relaxing and thinking about baby all the time! Delivery started at 2.30am and he borned at 8.18. Wow, it was amaizing! Thank you!
Congratulations on your beautiful baby and positive birth! YOU did all the daily prep to make it happen! Sending you love and I hope you are recovering well also ❤️
Being in the present and focusing on the contraction really helps to get through labour. Just wait for the next contraction. I was also walking through my 6 hour labour as I couldn't sit due to pain. I never had much time between contraction from start to end. It started with strong contraction five to seven minutes apart and then shortened into two to three minutes apart.
I had an amazing 2nd birth! I am so happy with how it went and so thankful I followed along and stayed active along the way. I will definitely be following along postpartum too!! Thank you so much for all the content you create!!
For me ~ I am 40. I had Major birth trauma with my first 15 years ago. I ripped into pieces and never healed properly. Forced to lay on my back. Not allowed to move even though my body was telling me to. Was told to shut the F up when I made noise etc. It was a horrible almost 48 hours of labour. I swore I’d never go through birth again. This time… I’m trying to reclaim my birth trauma. I’m terrified but working through fear. This is why I’m choosing another natural birth. Thank you for your videos they have been helping me!
I wish you a healing experience. My first was also traumatic being forced onto my back and held down when every fiber of my being was telling me to get on my hands and knees. It all felt completely out of my control. My second I got a peaceful labor at home and pushed my baby out on my side after 8 minutes in the hospital. That birth was healing for me (the aftercare was just terrible which is why I have chosen a home birth for number 3). A redemptive experience is possible!
9 weeks and this was so helpful! I have considered a birthing center, but everyone I know has ended up being transferred to the hospital. I would definitely prefer to be at home or a birthing center than in a hospital but I also feel a little safer there. I’m still on the fence about it. But my goal is to go without an epidural for sure. I want to do my best to prepare.
I could recommend a birth center, just because they’re more natural and less interventions. I was able to find an alternative birthing center connected to a hospital. It’s peace of mind being right next to the hospital, just in case something goes wrong. Hope you find a place that treats you good ❤ good luck!
Thank you for making this helpful video! I used many of these tips and my labor and delivery were smooth and positive, and the nurses and my spouse were so proud and shocked by how calm and well I handled the contractions all the way to push. I really listened to my body. It was an amazing experience. 🎉
I wish i had this video before, i gave birth to my third two weeks ago and was pretty much petrified even though it's not my first 😁 all three natural, unmedicated. To all the mommas, you got this!♥️♥️
This gives me hope i want to go unmedicated its my 1st birth..i did go through a missed miscarriage & Natrual chemical miscarriage. With my first missed miscarriage i didnt havw pain meds with the shooting pains almost in tears ik contractions will be so different but it does help give me the hope that i can do itm
You know I appreciate the video and iam 8 weeks and a day into a twin pregnancy and Its amazing how true this video is, because going to the bathroom basically for the past 2 months ive been unconsciously doing all these things, the breathing and the strengthening of muscles i didn't realize i had, and I see this video and it all connected for me, child birth isn't painful or traumatic unless you make it that Way out of fear, but i chose unconditional love and surrendering to that, that was the hardest part of this, and it's done, and beautiful loving energy comes through videos and experiences and insight every moment of each day since then and it's just so cool to see it come full circle. This is the kind of energetic transference that truly makes the difference! Grateful and thankful for it and you all! Keep on going your touching the lives of many by birthing creation in infinite ways!
My pelvic floor physio taught me the value of reverse kegels because a while before pregnancy (I’m 39 weeks currently…), I had a hypertonic (overly tense and so dysfunctional) pelvic floor. That and pelvic floor yoga did wonders to relax my pelvic floor. So instead of regular kegels, you only clench momentarily before breathing in deeply, distending your belly, and then breathing out and relaxing your lower half completely, then repeat. That trains the muscles to relax properly. UA-cam pelvic floor pilates instructors were what I used for the yoga element. So now I do kegels so I’m okay after pregnancy (also because I’d started peeing when I sneezed, baby weighing down my bladder) but do an equal number of reverse kegels and pelvic floor yoga to ensure that my pelvic floor remains good at relaxing. Worth seeing a pelvic floor physio before pregnancy/third trimester to see what state your pelvic floor is in I think
I’m having my third and I pre when I sneeze so now I’m scared for my baby to come out too soon. I’m 35 weeks and I feel my pelvic cracking and sometimes my thighs hurt..the exercises you talk ñ about help but don’t make your baby come sooner? I just feel like I’m so loose down there
The idea with headphones and eye masks is genius. For my first birth, i got scared in the first few moments already from the woman mext door screaming as if she was slaughtered *_* itd have helped me a lot to avoid panic. The 3 pose explanation, amd especially the last one with knees together is a really good tip
I used a TENS machine, nitrous oxide, moving around a lot, and birth affirmations during my first. "I can do anything for one minute." "Every wave brings my baby closer to my arms." "My body knows how to give birth." "I trust my team." (Meaning the medical professionals.) Those affirmations made my birth a positive story even though it was a difficult birth ending up in cesarean. I don't have any bad memories about the experience. I'm not fit now, so thank you always for your excellent exercise content. I have two months left to tone up and improve my endurance. Thank you for mentioning that I shouldn't be doing kegels! 😆 I trust your content because you helped me heal 3 fingers out of my 4 fingers diastasis recti. It's opened up again, but I know what to do.
I’m so sorry you wouldn’t want a student. I’ve been a OB/GUN Nurse/Nurse Practitioner for forty four years. Seeing my first birth at San Francisco General got me hooked for life. I spent ten lovely years as a labor and delivery nurse after graduation. I then got my Masters Degree and taught OB Nursing at SFSU, one of my students was my L&D Nurse when I had my first child. That same Nurse went on to become a very successful child birth educator in San Francisco. I have also taught OB Nursing at SSU and Carrington College in Reno. The students always are respectful and helpful helping with the birth process, for some it can be a life changing experience. I enjoyed your video, but please don’t encourage all women to not have a student. I have spent my working career helping women and students in this miraculous pregnancy and birth process. Thank you.
Its a nice suggestion if you didn't know thats an option. Im definitely going to let them know i dont want students viewing my first birth, ita juat not aomething im comfortable with at the moment. I think id be okay with if i had a 2nd baby. Students will have many other opportunities to see a birth, the priority should be whatever helps the mother be the most calm and comfortable.
I don't even want my mother there.... Let alone someone I don't know. Just thinking about that makes me tense up. Not because it's a student, but because I know that person and it's an extra person in the room, which is already my worst nightmare of how many people are probably going to be there
When I gave birth I was so hot during transition that I tore off my gown and walked around the hospital room naked. I struggled a little through transition and only thing that got me through was loud singing and praying out loud. I already felt like a spectacle with the limited people in the room. If anyone wasn’t there actively helping I didn’t want them in. I don’t think I would have liked a student there just watching and taking notes, then going home to their friends to talk about the crazy lady who gave birth that day. I hope enough women give them the opportunity to witness birth but it won’t be me! I’m already introverted so definitely want limited people with me!
These videos are so educational & wonderful...There really is a very serious public health issue in regards to lack of education & awareness about how to give birth in a safe healthy natural manner.I'm currently using straws to try to get pregnant with my 1st little one & learning this stuff is helping me feel much more confident about my ability to have little ones.Wish me luck🌞👍🏻.

It's an incredible feeling to share this experience with so many beautiful and extremely empowering women and/or their support teams! Sending all my love and encouragement ❤️💟🙏
why do hospitals force us to do everything that’s against what is natural to our bodies and 10x harder/borderline unsafe? it’s a fight to advocate for yourself and a lot of times the doctor and nurses undermine and pressure you with guilt to make you do what they’re asking simply bc it makes their jobs easier. which is exactly the opposite type of support you need when going through something so raw and vulnerable
RIGHT! Planning my seventh full-term all-natural vaginal home birth, and just want to encourage all the mothers out there who are brave and courageous enough to buck the ludicrous system that has become the standard treatment of birth in hospitals. Every one of my babies were delivered by my PCP: GOD, with the help of some midwives, wonderful doulas, and- once- only my husband (but after that I said, "NEVER AGAIN")! LOL Birthing at HOME has brought me such peace and joy, knowing that no money-hungry, time-constricted doctors are hovering around looking for more money-making interventions which aren't actually in the mother and babies' best interests. My midwives tried giving me a "throne" to sit back on during my first birth, and after three seconds in it I scrambled out, saying, "That feels AWEFUL!" I can't imagine how women labor all strapped up in hospitals!! Every birth saw me squatting, holding onto something like a bar or bedrail, and that is how each baby was born, except for a couple whose big shoulders got stuck and were instantly freed into the outer world by getting on my hands and knees. The famous, miraculous "Gaskin Maneuver" is actually on the LIST of possibilities for hospital births, but sadly doctors would rather perform an episiotomy than go the natural route. I feel that when a woman goes to a hospital to give birth, she is set on a conveyor belt to unnecessary and dangerous interventions. Set on her back, the weight of the uterus compresses a major blood vessel that runs down near the laboring mother's spine called the vena cava. And compressing that blood vessel slows blood flow to the baby! Add to that the pain the baby feels when his or her scalp is literally screwed with a wire that causes painful bruising and a lesion, and WALAH! "The baby's in distress! We've got to perform an emergency C-section! Sorry, you can't have the natural birth you hoped for..." By the way, that'll be twice the cost of a vaginal birth. Is it just me, or is setting up for distress equivalent to setting up for a doctor's "success"?

@@journeyfrombitternessit's hard because sometimes it's not just our decision. If you have a partner, it's a joint decision and with birth you really just need everyone on board for it to workout. For those with supportive husbands I 1,000% agree - homebirth is what I would do.
@@mariahholden2088 Sorry it took so long to answer! I don't check my email or UA-cam responses often. I would encourage you to read books by Ina May Gaskin about birthing, but first of all, fear of what God wants is from the devil, and you have to believe in Jesus Christ and receive His supernatural fearless peace to be able to do what I've done. I can't imagine living without Jesus! He's my constant companion, my Savior, my PCP, my God, and the lover and Maker of my soul. May His love and peace fill your heart always, and may your journey through life be fruitful! And always remember, BABIES ARE BLESSINGS, not burdens!
Because efficiency. If every woman was able to take her time, labour down, not be pushed to induce because they aren't progressing fast enough, the strain on the medical system would be huge. Need more nurses and doctors for that. Midwives will support you doing what's natural, as well as birthing centers. Advocating for yourself is a life skill 💪💪
Having my first baby at the end of the year (24 weeks currently) and have been loving your workouts! I plan on a home birth and have been pretty terrified, but this video is so reassuring and I appreciate you a ton for all the work you put into this channel.
If you watch no other birth prep video, I'd say at least watch this one! I'm 25 weeks with baby 2 and was able to have a natural hospital birth with baby 1. Everything she says is yes yes yes! My labor and delivery nurses even tried to make me give birth on my back but I said NO!
Im also going to say what she WANTS to say, but wont or cant- homebirth is the SAFEST and LEAST traumatic way to birth hands down. When you truly do the research, you will come to understand that complications usually come from all the interventions used in hospital births. So many complications can be avoided if birth is left to naturally happen. Having support with you like an amazing midwife and a doula is a great option at a homebirth. Ive had three successful homebirths and i cannot stress what im saying enough!
24 week party! Woohoo I am also 24 weeks :) planning on a home birth. A lot of that fear is in our minds and what we have seen or heard. Ignore it and focus on positive resources. Our bodies are built for this. Women have been doing this for thousands of years. You got this ladies!!

That's the problem with our healthcare system regards to 🏥s....They usually try to push unnecessary interventions & they often do things that aren't good for easing labor/birth.There's definitely more 💰 in things like C-sections....But nowadays in many 🏥 s in 🇺🇸, there's a serious understaffing issue & a lot of those places don't have adequate staff to run after a mama potentially for many hours of labor especially if it's a 1st time mother.I plan on ONLY going to a 🏥 if there's genuine medical issues...I'm not impressed with what I've 👀/heard in regards to the standard 🏥 birth experience.

@@Jjlavids it went EXACTLY how I wanted 💕 I woke up at 1:30am on June 10 and knew I was in labor. My midwife arrived around 2:30am, and baby girl was born at 3:46am. No tearing and an easy delivery. I am SO thankful to have found these videos to help with the delivery process
The reason so many women push on their back is the doctors are making us! They try to convince us it’s easier for the doctor and therefore safer. I tried to push on all fours and the doctor talked me out of it. This next one is with a midwife and I asked her about it, she said I can push however I feel comfortable. Also they did make me push before I felt the urge and I was pushing for such a long time I needed oxygen to get through it. I almost passed out from pushing so long.
Funny thing is when i was a girl, around 9 or 10 yo, i had severe pain from IBS almost daily. It hurt me troughout my back all the way down my legs. I can still recall the pain. I would say around 8 on the prs. What helped me through was visualizing the things my body was doing, or what was causing the pain, so it was easier to accept the pain for those moments/waves. I also learned myseld breathing techniques to work through that pain. No one ever taught me these things, but it came sort of natural at some point and made those flares somewhat acceptable. Im now pregnant with twins, but i hope i still have the skills i had for those years that i suffered from IBS during my upcoming labour. I know they worked wonders back then.
7:51 They give birth on the back because when they are in hospital, they follow their doctor's way. When you are in delivery room, they don't give you much choice as suggested in this video.
It probably really depends on the hospital and medical providers. I had tons of options for movement and pain management with the certified nurse midwives at Michigan Medicine's hospital. They're amazing! Wish there were more like them!
However, despite these benefits of giving birth in an upright position, most people who give birth vaginally in U.S. hospitals describe pushing and delivering lying on their backs (68%) or in a semi-sitting/lying position with the head of the bed raised up (23%). A small portion of birthing people push and give birth in other positions such as side-lying (3%), squatting or sitting (4%), or hands-and-knees position (1%) (Declercq et al., 2014).
@@babytexan3038 yeah midwives are different but most people end up with medical doctors nowadays. My first was with a doctor who didn’t give me an option. This next one is with a midwife and she already said I can push however I feel comfortable when we talked about it in my birth plan
Thank you Jessica! Encouraging videos like this make me feel like I can do it! I'm at 19 weeks and learning to look forward to birthing. My hospital offers a birth center with an option for water births. I am so lucky to have this option and I'm very excited to have access to tools for a good birth.
Thank you for this. 😍 I’m 29 weeks pregnant now and my first baby is already 12 years old so I feel quite nervous, but thanks to your encouragements I feel more at ease.
I’m 29 weeks pregnant and loving your videos! I’m so excited to try VBAC natural this time with supportive midwives! Do you have any recommendation on an online childbirth class that aligns with your attitude towards childbirth?!
Going to a birth center this time for my 3rd. This video was such a great informational reminder with great advice. Not surprised that Dr's/hospitals prefer you on your back. more intervention = more money. Ladies, your child and you are not their priority, lining their pockets is though.
I’m going to try some of these with my 3rd baby. The nurses wouldn’t let me do a lot of this stuff when I birthed my 2nd baby. No balls, no baths, no showers, no being in any other position on the bed except on your back, no walking outside your own room. At one point they allowed me to get up and lean on the bed but I found that to be most uncomfortable and quickly got back on the bed. At one point I tried to roll over onto my side and they were like “What are you doing?!” They were worried I would roll off the bed onto the floor! I didn’t have the option to labour at home either as it was an induction. Fingers crossed I get a bit more say in my 3rd delivery!!
You really have to be your own advocate. Find out what the hospital's policies are beforehand. Make sure you can labor as you please and deliver in the position you like----not what they prefer.
Yes of course, when I was so skinny it was also easy for me to do all these things…. After the 6th month I couldn’t even walk properly down the stairs anymore without feeling exhausted.
❤Jessica is some kind of beautiful angel for pregnant women, helping them to prepare for natural birth process. I'm after 2 cesarean ( for "silly reasons"- as conditions and psychological pressure without knowing my rights). So I'm preparing for natural birth from all aspects of being.
I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby and I know 100% is I will be birthing my baby squatting or on my knees. The pain in my back post labour was insane, especially with my 1st.
Too funny. With my first I felt like my body ‘vomited the baby out of me’ 😂 I did not push, my body did! So neat it’s a reflex! Also, it was a hospital non-medicated birth 😊
I had the same experience! I labored at home for as long as possible. That was my safe environment. The baby was born 55 minutes after arriving to the hospital after one involuntary push!
Thanks 🙏🏾 very much for your videos, I did not have a birthing ball so I use chair with a pillow on top and I did not know I was contracting until I came to the hospital for for my antenatal and I was told that I was 4cm dilated and boom 💥 I gave birth two days ago 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
I'm just thankful for the fetal ejection Peterborough city hospital. My midwife looked at me and said "you're fully dilated" then lowered the bed completely flat. I said "I don't want that", she told me "you have to". when I julted onto my shoulders and tiptoes because of the pain involuntarily, she pulled my legs straight with intensifies the pain, I couldn't move, push or even control my body until after my baby came out. I tried to bring my knees together thankfully for it to be over and she pushed them so wide apart it locked me baby inside me. She told my partner it was normal for me to buy julting. Is it normal? Is it normal that every single word or request is ignored by the midwife??
I had my first baby 5 years ago, it was natural and unmedicated, but I labored at home and only got to the hospital when it was time to push. The doula I had hired kept telling me it wasn't even active labor yet, without ever coming to see me. I was in so much pain, but my mind was definitely in the wrong place, since I thought nothing was happening... This time I'm considering getting an epidural, because I'm so afraid of the pain I felt last time... I really don't know what to do.
I feel like a lot of doctors won’t let you get on a different position they just want you on your back which sucks and they want you to push at 10 cm, I also feel it should be when u get the urge.. thank you for ur video it helped on good info I just hope I can do this and not have doctor tell me no .
I’m 32wks + 4 days & I really REALLY want to have a natural delivery. I don’t want an epidural if I can help it. I don’t want to be confined to the hospital bed. I want to be able to stand and walk around during labor & I don’t want to be on my back during the pushing process. I would prefer to be on all 4’s or squatting. Less than 8wks left & Im so ready to meet my boy! 💚
My first birth was in a hospital with an epi. I actually had a good experience with it, the nurses were able to get me into multiple positions for pushing, including with a squat bar. I was really impressed. But every hospital is unique! Congrats on your son!
@@sitcomchristian6886 Thank you!!! Unfortunately, the hospital I’ll be birthing at will only let you birth on your back or on your side if you do get the epidural. I understand why, but I just want to attempt to go without the epi because I want to walk around & use my birthing ball & hopefully squat when it’s time for me to push. I’m more scared of the epidural than I am of labor & delivery anyway 😅
I’m confused about the posterior position at 1:45 and what to do about it. Is sitting forward instead of back/slouched going to help deliver “sunny side up?” It seems she displayed the difficult position but not the easier alternative.
Are you done with your delivery?? I'm 39 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby. He is breech in position. Dr told me of c-section. I want normal but how to turn breech into cephalic.... I'm much tensed..... Plzz do pray for my normal and healthy delivery
@@salmakhokhar4363 wish you sound health and complete speedy recovery. I'm 39 weeks 1 day with cephalic position but i'm so scared of normal delivery. Pray for me 🥺
You can do it! The only research (that I’m aware of) showing mothers pelvis is truly too small is if they were severely malnourished growing up. Otherwise… your baby will fit! Sending you love and strength!
I would love an update from you Octo if you don’t mind😭 I have a short torso and keep hearing I can’t have natural vaginal births. How was your birth?❤️ All the best xx
@@ummyahya8218 Hey! I gave birth and my experience was wonderful. I successfully pushed out my son with only minimal tears. I believe you can do it, Just push as instructed and make sure to breathe whenever you get the chance to because they will make you hold your breath so you can give strong pushes. 🥰🥰 Hope your delivery goes well.
I'm very nervous. I'm 33 weeks and having so much sacrum and hip pain. I sit at a desk and haven't worked out at all. I don't know where to start working out so I appreciate this.
In my first i didn't know what happen during labor just following what my grandparents said and all i feel is pain. Now on my second it makes me scared to think that again i m going through the same pain or much worst and being afar from my family . No one to talk to
Sending caring! It's definitely a major experience. I hope you can find good support. I think a lot of areas have volunteer doulas or ones in training that would work with you at no cost.
May every mother deliver safely

I gave birth without any medication twice .This was forty years ago.I had little or no intervention from medical staff but simply went inside myself and relaxed into the intense contractions.I did this with out any actual birth training. It happened by itself.I did not have to actively push by body simply took over and expelled both my large babies all by itself. It was a primal and unforgettable experience and I will never forget the sheer wonder of how this now 68 year old body did its job.I was up and about with in a couple of hours and had virtually no postpartum bleeding.Truly magical.
Wow, i believe we have natural instincts that will tell our bodies what to do in this situation just like animals.
Wow, thanks for sharing. Had a C-section and plan on doing this baby by vaginal. Thanks for sharing, I'll learn to just relax.

Thank you!
Wow this is awesome 😎
Good for you ❤
Amazing! I'm curious, were you at a hospital or at home?
@broadwaystr92990 I was at home until my water broke after 11 hours of contractions. My baby came 40 minutes after I arrived at the hospital. The staff didn't believe me when I said that the baby was coming (because it was my first baby). I had a midwife joining me during the last 15 minutes. For my next pregnancy, I would want to give birth at home.
How did you know when to go to the hospital?
May Allah make it easy for you sister, I hope both of you are healthy. Your first baby will drag you to Jannah In Sha Allah ❤
May Allah make it easy for you Allahumma Ameen! Your baby is waiting for you in Jannah In Shaa Allah, Prophet Ibraheem (alayhi salaam) is watching them for you in the meantime
You are so strong❤
How are you now ?
Ive had pretty bad back labour, so I feel you
Thank you for your comment. I’m
Sure it’s great general advice for a lot of people and that’s fantastic, but I agree many circumstances can happen and if your story isn’t positive it’s not a flaw in you.
@@dahliamalloy2167 The trick I'm talking about is several things combined I don't know how I'm going to explain but it's thanks to the effectiveness of this trick I then got pregnant my
Thank you for this. ❤
I didn’t have a posterior baby, but I did have to be induced, which meant (a) a constant state of pain-there was no focusing on “the current contraction,” because it literally felt like one long contraction and (b) I had to be hooked up to fetal monitors the entire time. So I had to be lying down and couldn’t get up or change positions at all. (Not that I wanted to get up much when I was in a constant state of blinding pain…)
For a long time, I felt as though I and my body had failed.
There are so many women who have had great experiences and are happy to share.
fascinating! what other techniques have you seen be successful and can they be done in hospitals?
I'm so glad you feel that way!! Self directed breathing was so discouraged by the head nurse at the hospital I was delivering at and she kept yelling in my ear "you HAVE to hold your breath" I wanted to be like leave me alone and let me do my thing! I'm sure your a godsend to the women lucky enough to have you attend to them.
Im so glad she mentioned not allowing that negative energy in. ❤
Sadly, some medical professionals make it seem like there are not that many choices which is why I got a doula.
I dont think theres any way to do this, whatever wants to happen always happens. Nothing ever goes as planned. I was scheduled for a C-section and ended up having my baby vaginally with no tearing and no medication. It was such a blessing and i was NOT expecting that at all. God is Big!
Why were u scheduled for c sec? I have a pelvis problem
Do share ur story it can be helpful to others
Can I ask, did you give birth on your back or a different position?
@@sarahjo2Firstly I was on my side and then on my back but more vertically rather than flat. My son was born in five pushes 😊

Did you have vaginal delivery?

The comments section is so encouraging! ❤
just had my 1st baby son last week, all natural vaginal birth. Your breathing techniques work wonders, thanks so much! Did you tear or have epidural?
@@Anamillio it was a natural birth with no tear and epidurals.
I used your tips with my last child. I pretty much held out on pushing till the baby fell out.lol one and done, no tearing! That was the goal 😊
I love that! We can trust our bodies and babies 💞

I have had 2 epidural births and I am about to have my first natural birth thanks to your videos. I'm very excited.
I'm excited for you! You've got this! 💗
@@OUpsychChick thank you so much for sharing this 💗 that’s encouraging
Bless you!! I cannot believe an institution could be so cruel. Definitely advocate for yourself and ensure you have the birth experience you deserve!

As a mother to be, god bless all of u mums and mummies to be may your journey be blissful❤❤❤
And you do this sitting or lying down, as with regular kegels
I trust your content because you helped me heal 3 fingers out of my 4 fingers diastasis recti.
Limited interruptions is so important in a hospital setting!
Just watching you dear... Is already calming me for my delivery January 2024... Thank you for this positive video
I’m almost 12 weeks right now and I’m very glad to have found this, despite having still quite a long way to go!
It's a grace but I have to thank God for his work in my life. I've been trying to get pregnant for 9 years and today I'm pregnant with a little boy thanks to a very effective trick. I know it can help you too because it worked for me oh

Thank you for the tips! I am 37 weeks with my first baby ❤

I agree! Sometimes they will tell you not to push! Until a doctor comes in the room. What in tarnation?!?
My last two births natural, iam on my 3rd pregnancy planning on natural birth again it’s worth it and the recovery so much faster.
Dude you’re so amazing! Thanks so much for sharing the true way to deliver naturally, I wish hospitals would catch up
38 weeks today and planning to do a home water birth. I love all the tips you’ve given throughout your channel and hope to check back in soon with my positive birth story 😊
How did it go!? ❤🎉 I’m assuming you are with baby now!
@@Jjlavids it went EXACTLY how I wanted 💕
I woke up at 1:30am on June 10 and knew I was in labor.
After 3 successful homebirths, I approve these messages!
7:51 They give birth on the back because when they are in hospital, they follow their doctor's way. When you are in delivery room, they don't give you much choice as suggested in this video.
They don't. I was hooked up to cables
I really want to try on all fours! hopefully they don't make a big deal out of it currently I'm 35 weeks! 3 days
@@babytexan3038 yeah midwives are different but most people end up with medical doctors nowadays. My first was with a doctor who didn’t give me an option. This next one is with a midwife and she already said I can push however I feel comfortable when we talked about it in my birth plan

Im currently 36 weeks. Thank you to all the tips. This will help me a lot in my upcoming big day.
Here in india hospital don't support any other positions other than laying on back and if we suggest something they scold us
Thailand is the same. They need to start trusting the mother. She wants to get on her hands and knees or swat.
Remaining 2 weeks for delivery thanks for the advice
Yes of course, when I was so skinny it was also easy for me to do all these things….
After the 6th month I couldn’t even walk properly down the stairs anymore without feeling exhausted.
❤Jessica is some kind of beautiful angel for pregnant women, helping them to prepare for natural birth process. I'm after 2 cesarean ( for "silly reasons"- as conditions and psychological pressure without knowing my rights). So I'm preparing for natural birth from all aspects of being.

I had fetal ejection reflex with my first, in the hospital! Very possible! I prepared for an unmedicated birth and I had one :)
My soon to be wife and I want to have a lot of children so we're prepairing for that. Thank you so much for all the good advice you give
No :/ sorry to hear of your experience

Ahh! You are going to do incredible! You’ve been preparing so long now! 💞💞💞
Thanks u making it sound so easy hopefully it will be eyy
I’m 32wks + 4 days & I really REALLY want to have a natural delivery. I don’t want an epidural if I can help it. I don’t want to be confined to the hospital bed. I want to be able to stand and walk around during labor & I don’t want to be on my back during the pushing process. I would prefer to be on all 4’s or squatting. Less than 8wks left & Im so ready to meet my boy! 💚
So exciting! You are preparing and you are going to do incredible 💞
