- Learning how to Keyframe in DaVinci was a little challenging at first coming from Premiere pro. I break down all you need to know to make the switch easy!!
thanks a lot, really good quality tutorial, just switched from after effects too. Davinci is definitely way better than premiere, but there's a biit of a learning cure to learn how to do the things I could do in after effects
You are so welcome! Yeah the switch is a little challenging at first but I think it’s pretty worth it!
OMG! Ive been using DVR for 2 yrs now and just found out that clicking those arrows will jump to the keyframes! As always expand the clips to find the keyframes. I feel so stupid now! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 Small details but big time saver! Thanks! 🤗❤️
Hey we are all learning!! Happy to help, thanks for watching yet again :D !!!!
@@Josh_Johnston always supporting! Crossing fingers your channel will go really big. Thanks for the inputs. 💖
@@OdetteML Aww!! I sincerely appreciate that :D
Good video, well exposed. Just in case you or any of your viewers don't know if you right clic on the red keyframe icon you have a built in ease in ease out.
It makes me recall automation in LogicX, which I use a lot to automate levels of plugins or gain, or even sound effects.
I've seen lot of people switching from FC or AP to DR. I used to edit a few things in FC a couple years ago, I think I will give a try to DavinciResolve!
Chai tea! nice! hehehe
Saludos!
Haha got to keep it going! And thanks for watching yet again, I do think DaVinci is worth the try!!
Been using Resolve for 4 years now and I am an admitted Premiere hater now but I never stop missing having a keyframe panel the way Premiere does. Having to do all of this work in the timeline itself is clunky and awkward compared to Premiere.
Yeah I get where you are coming from - took a while to adjust to it and there are certainly some features that I wish Resolve would update! I’ve grown to like it in the timeline actually but yeah there are some “unique” ways of working in there that I find frustrating sometimes
Same with the Speed Ramp, also awkward with DaVinci
you have one in fusion
Thank you very much, it helped me a lot.
Glad I could help!!
Great video - thanks!
Hey thank you!! I appreciate that :D
I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW
AMAZING!!
Ty that was very clear
You are so welcome! I’m glad to hear that!! :)
hey josh! thanks for the information, you actually helped me to know more about keyframe! may I ask is the intro also can be done using keyframe?
Hey I am so glad I was able to help!! If you are referring to the screen wiping - then yes you absolutely can!
Спасибо большое, это замечательный урок!
Большое спасибо
Great video mate!! is there a way to draw the diamond shape inside Davinci or i should use a separate software for it?
Thank you so much!!
I built that in illustrator - there are shape building stuff in fusion but I find it easier to do in another program!
This is such useful info!!! Thank you!:)
You are so welcome!! Glad I was able to help :)
Does anybody know why this diamond symbol doesn't exists for effect keyframes? I want to move them to the left for example.
Great question!! For some reason DaVinci has that limitation from my experience, if you want to key frame effects(some not all) it’s usually done in Fusion rather than the edit page.
Great video! Is there a way to change the velocity between two keyframes? It seems that whenever I'm trying to ease out and in to two different positions it actually changes the move of the subject itself and doesn't adjust the speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much!! From my understanding by editing the keyframes in the edit page the way I showed there is not a way to edit velocity.
If you were to animate within fusion you get those more nuanced controls. It’s a bit intimidating at first but depending on what you are trying to do it can be pretty easy to do some simple stuff in it.
You will most likely need to add a transform node and animate in there.
Can you tell me is there any way to add "Hold" to keyframes, I mean, in premiere, there is an option to hold the keyframes (highlighting keyframes -> right lick -> temporal interpolation-> Hold)?
That is a great question!! There is something like that in DaVinci - its called Step in/Step Out. Unfortunately its not accessible when we are key framing in our edit page, however if you start to key frame in Fusion, open Spline Editor (top right of screen if you can't find it) -> highlight both keyframes you have made -> right click -> you should see Step In/ Step Out which will give you the same effect! Hope that helps!!
here before viral
That would be amazing! Haha
DVR is the best! 😅❤️🤗
I totally agree!!!
what software you use to zoom in the area you want to demonstrate? and also the circular window?
Its actually entirely done in DaVinci Resolve! Funnily enough its just a lot of keyframing for all of the zooming (working with a few parameters at the same time). As for the circle frame with me that is done inside fusion in DaVinci Resolve as well!
@@Josh_Johnston Great. Maybe you cold make a tutorial about that !! Just gave you a great idea! hahah.
@@AntzMr You sure did!! I will absolutely have to make one about that, thank you!!
Whenever i move the dot on the smooth out right option it just moves the whole image instead of doing what yours did?
Hmm hard to know exactly whats going wrong... but my guess is that you need to hit the smaller circle attached to the little arm, not the primary one. The primary one will move everything - while the little circle attached to the arm should help you smooth out your animations.
Please let me know if that works - or send me a screen shot of the problem!
@@Josh_Johnston i am just moving the circle- no matter how much i move it it just either makes the image go further and come back or make it go back and come further, at different speeds. idk how to fix it
@@Skilled_Guard Hmmm sorry to hear that, can you take a screen recording and send it to my email? Maybe I can help more that way: JoshuaJohnston070@gmail.com
the spline editor opens but there is no line, only the buttons
Hey great question! This could be for a few reasons. When you open the spline editor there is an arrow pointing down in the top right corner. It could be that non of the adjustments are turned on for you, simply checking the different boxes should show you lines appearing in the editor. I typically run into this when I have not added my keyframes yet. Hope that helps! Let me know if it doesn't and I will see what else I can find out for you!
„Chai Tea“ >:(
Haha I do apologize I have learned since that is certainly incorrect!
its not chai tea its chai
Good point!! Haha
