Resolve is insane, the fact that the license is so affordable and the free version does everything but face detection and 4k editing makes me tingle

I would really appreciate it if you started a series with Dustin! I had to learn so much about Davinci Resolve through a collection of both good and bad videos and having to comb through dozens of videos that made it so hard to follow along or understand what’s happening. I appreciate what y’all do for new creators ❤

@@itskells7557I just watched and edited along with that video. It's so nice how he explains things so you understand the underlying concept and you're not just copying what he's doing without knowing why you're doing it
I went from never opening a video editing software before in Oct 2022, to importing and animating 3d objects (never touched blender before either), creating motion graphics, and all sorts of other wild stuff within 3 months. Fusion is insane, it literally set me apart from the others in my niche, and it's so fast to learn, all very intuitive once you dive in.
Ah nice to see a familiar face here! I completely agree, your editing definitely is unlike any other in the Elden Ring guides I watched.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! My editing has been mediocre at best especially with zoom or dynamic zoom. Being new to anything editing these tools will be a God send... thank you, sincerely!
I really like how flexible resolve is with keybindings. The biggest productivity boost I found was changing my keybindings to all be around asdf.
These are all absolutely amazing! Been creating videos for a year now (9 months consistently) and the amount I have learned on Resolve is crazy. And this just helps me take it to the next level now thank you so much!!!
I'm currently editing my first feature film in Resolve. It works like a dream, even in 4K. Their Proxy-flow and Cloud features are insane!

I have been using Resolve for a while, but seeing some of these plugins is a game changer. I definitely see some uses for them that I plan to implement in upcoming videos.

MrAlex Tech and Patrick Sterling have been a godsend for many DR users. Thanks for bringing my attention to the Fairlight sound library; I've had Resolve for a year and never knew about it. It's a fantastic collection of Foley sounds.
The features that are missing are not important, but there is one major difference between the free and the studio version. That difference is the hardware utilization and acceleration.
A 30 minute 1080p video render in the free version would take me 15min'ish (with my pc hardware Ryzen 7 5700x, 32gb ram, RTX 3060 12gb), in the studio version that same video takes all of 2 minutes to render (with the same hardware). This hardware utilization is huge. It is a difference like night and day. I used to started the output render, walk away do something else and then eventually come back and upload the video to UA-cam. Now it is so fast that I can just stay there, wait and immediately upload the vid. It is worth the $299. My mileage

Started editing on Resolve the other week. It is amazing.
Been using Resolve since starting my channel the first of this year.. So simple to use and I'm learning more every week.. The vertical tools make doing "Shorts a breeze.. These new plugins are going to take my videos to another level.. YES YES !!!! More Dustin Please!!!

This came up at a perfect time, I used to have Davinci Resolve when I started making videos but when I was in HS, I was in a TV Production class and was learning Adobe Premiere Pro. I had a subscription for free by the school but then I graduated and I was paying 20 bucks a month, realized why am I paying for it when DR is free. So I've been back to DR and I definitely will try using the first 2 plugins!
Love the editor Davinci resolve has been my go to and i love the process gonna use these plugins. also love the diversity in this video it shows that Harris works with a team and it's great great streambeats SO as well < 3
I liked hearing from Dustin. I've been bumming my way through learning how to use Davinci Resolve for an embarrassingly long time now. I would love to see more videos like this in the future.

Just a point, adding the sound library was a bit more involved then advised. After clicking on the "Download" link and agreeing to a usage policy you down load a ".zip" file containing a ".exe" file. You run the ".exe" and chose the folder where you wanted to install the library. I chose the "Audio" folder inside the Divinci Resolvefolder. Then inside the "Fairlight" page simply typing in *** in the search did nothing. I had to click on "Add Library" and then chose the "Fairlight Sound Library" folder inside my "Divinci\audio" folder" and then all the sound effect files are available.
I am only starting to play around with video editing as a hobby and cannot believe this software with all these features is available for free. Sound effects are a nice addition also.
Just bought myself the Studio Packet and I have to say it is a lot better to work with when you have a RTX30/40 and a 12+ core CPU. It reallly helps making content a lot faster and more efficent.

I'm sitting here with my almost 10 year old laptop and drawing 8 rectangles on the screen runs at 1.5 frames per second for some reason. I really think that they can optimize it to work as well on my old laptop as it does on your PC currently if they optimize the hell out of it. There's no way my laptop can calculate millions of polygons and pixels and not draw 8 mono color rectangles at more than 5 fps.

Edited a huge project with Resolve's free edition a long while ago and was just blown away. That alone sold me on getting the Studio version. Really happy with it to this day, still
Resolve by far is the best editing software out there, I really hope they do not mess it up in the future.
Literally all I want blackmagic to add to resolve is the ability to customize the layout like you can in premiere

Do some search on youtube how to do that...Only weakness I found here is that I cannot edit while rendering another video like premeire + media encoder do.
Been doing research for months on Da Vinci and known/used a bit for years and it keeps getting better and better. New version comes out roughly every 1.5 years. I knew about all of the plugins mentioned in the video and Yes Alex, Patrick are great Resolve UA-camrs and not just them. Theirs plenty that focuses purely on this software.

Do you find the zoom in and out plugin valuable? I've gotten so used to just doing the key scrolling now with the "x" and "y" coordinates that they really don't seem to take much time for me anymore.
@@JJSEvolution It's been good but recently my plugin's been glitchy. I reinstalled it but it stopped functioning and I stopped using it in general. It sucks but hey we still have zooms!

I've only used resolve to edit my videos, but i've been using just the vanilla free version without any plugins. I've been looking to upgrade my editing style recently since i've gotten a lot more comfortable making videos, so this was super helpful.

I found davinci last year when I wanted to start my channel and I'm incredibly impressed with it. For a free video editor I'm legit blown away and does 99% of the things I want and need. Only a few complaints but other than that, definitely the best free video editor.
I've done the switch about two years ago and been highly recommending it to my friends, and now that they added the auto Subtitling/Text generator. It has made my work flow so much faster.

Uh. Dang. You DO have me debating switching to resolve. My workflow in Premiere is so fast right now and I hate the thought of investing time to learn only to lose time on each video while i learn, and not necessarily know if ill be as quick with resolve but...a lot of what you've shown here already kind of eases that fear because it looked intuitive and fast to do something I would consider time consuming.

I have been editing with Vegas Pro for over 15 years and want to start a few small projects in Davinci to get use to the workflow. These plugins do look useful and I think I will add right away.

This video came out at the perfect time, I've been using Resolve for over 2 years for stream VODs, TikToks, and of course UA-cam. I've gotten pretty quick with a lot of the editing I do in my videos, but these plugins are insane. I never even touched plugins before😂

As a new comer to Davinci Resolve, these plug-ins look like an amazing time saver! I am still learning how to do Text Effects to make my videos pop, and Magic Animate alone looks like a fantastic time saver.

One of my favourite part of the the mrAlexTech plugins are essentially fusion template and macro tools. So you can still dig into it in fusion and customize it further.

I have just started with Da Vinci, the Magic Zoom was so easy to install and with the Mr Alex Tech video on my laptop at my side I could do a step by simple step lesson on how to use it on the pc. Thanks so much.
Already aware of these 5 plugins, but damn it if the exposure to these great tools isn't something that brings a tear to my eye.
Also I have no idea why, but the zooming back and forth (using Magic Zoom I assume) constantly had me in stitches.

I chose Davinci as my go to video editor when I began my UA-cam adventure a year and a half ago. I have learned so much and it's been fun as well as challenging. This video is going to make it even more fun and level up my content in that special way that most in my niche do not do.
