  • Traditional drills are limiting basketball player development. ❌
In drills, key information is missing. When players know what the problem is and how they should solve it before the rep starts, it is ineffective for development. Instead, use small-sided games with constraints to transform drills into more challenging activities.

Traditional drills are good because it gets rid of the bad players immediately. People with weak mental usually goes out in a week. Then you start training the tough players. Every sport does this because training is about consistency not about what is the newest best way to train. You will learn new things on the fly as you develop into your own type of player. Coaches don't need to coach that. If they do, they're limiting your creativity of the game.

Not sure we can agree with that. How you train is very important, and traditional drills are not 'good' because they get rid of players immediately.

@@TransformBball soccer mainly because it's what I play. Because you get to a point in all sports where if it's a simple passing drill or something you can just turn off your brain and it becomes useless. If you're not constantly analyzing everything then it's not that good of a drill
