Blackened is one of my favoutite songs and a wonderful opening song. I remember one concert when Blackened was the opener followed by battery. They played both songs without a break, it was awesome and exhausting.

The thing with Metallica is that they can make an entire concert out of great opening songs.
That is a Helluva One-Two Punch. Blackened is a Classic and Battery is a Thrash Masterpiece, or Thrash-Terpiece, if you will. 🤘🤘🤘

The name is purely old west, making reference to how California (the goal of reaching the ocean) was fund by finding gold, the "ecstasy of gold"
I think it's crazy that the crowd has learn this song over the years sure, some know it from the movie but most, I'm sure, know it from watching or being at enough Metallica shows to learn it... Pretty badass

This is from the 2009 DVD Français pour une nuit = French for one night.
It was filmed in the amphitheater in Nîmes.
The Völkerball concert from Rammstein was also filmed there.

Amazing. Love this live. I've seen them live 5 times and they are the best artist I've ever seen live. They always sound amazing and never too distorted, they have amazing crowd control, sweet ad libs and have the endurance for very long shows.

This place is massive! The Arena of Nîmes (French: Arènes de Nîmes) is a Roman amphitheater in Nîmes, southern France. Built around 100 CE, shortly after the Colosseum of Rome, it is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world.
You should definitely see them live and rock in the crowd.

When im out running and Blackend comes on , im fucking flying along
back in 2004, they opened up the show with Blackened and throughout the song something hadn't occurred to me, but everything was brightly lit with these bare light bulbs. It did that throughout the entire song until the last hit when flashbangs went off and then the lighting rig began descending from the top of the arena...it was like OKAY NOW THE SHOW CAN REALLY BEGIN! ugh!!! it was so magical!!!!

Such a cool venue to play in! I have seen Metallica live many times, but only in your typical stadiums/arenas. Nonetheless, they are masters of the stage. True musicians that know how to play the heck out of their instruments. Blackened has pretty poignant lyrics and a blatantly stark message - but is such a great song overall. Great reaction btw!

The beginnig theme is "The Ecstasy of Gold" (it. L'estasi dell'oro) by one and only Ennio Morricone. I hope someday you listen to the original from movie it. "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo" - spaghetti western from 1966 by Sergio Leone.

I couldn't tell you how many batteries, I'd go through in my Sony Walkman, listening to this album cassette over and over, my first year in High School. "And Justice For All" is MY favorite Metallica album, with "Master of Puppets", "Kill 'em All", and "Ride the Lightning" coming in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.. in the order. Loved this reaction, Biss. No pausing for you! Clearly.. Metallica won't give you an opportunity to. J/K, we all know you gotta.

Les arènes de Nîmes sont un lieu magnifique, certainement les mieux conservé de l'époque romaine. Un concert dans un tel lieu reste magique et particulièrement celui de Metallica avec une énergie incroyable.

Your cheeks will hurt after watching this one. They are having so much fun!!!!!! Band Maid also released a new M/V (Memorable). It's a song they wrote for their fans. It was written while on the road during their last American tour. So sentimental!!!!!!
Every time I see this girl react to Metallica I say to myself: "I wish I could listen to Metallica for the first time again". Hope you see them live one day
Then old rock, and some of the best is from Heart, who you have reacted to already, but IMO their best song in an exceptionally good version (most other versions don't actually even make the song sound so good...) is: "Heart - Magic Man (1976)" from the channel Warmer Music Videos (yes, Warmer music instead of Warner music...). Just listen to that soulfulness, that expression, that incredibly skilful use of her voice, how she even changes her expression of what she's saying as she's telling a story...
Or you can use the version they performed at their live gig called "Second Ending" which is a concert you MUST SEE in its entirety!! Despite the sound recording having been done by college students with whatever they could afford in 1976, it's so well recorded and preserved!

That such concerts would once take place in an ancient building (in Nîmes, the colonia Nemausus in the province of Gallia Narbonensis of the Roman Empire, the amphitheater was built between 90 and 120 AD based on the model of the Roman Colosseum) - well, somehow logically, because even in antiquity it was infotainment construction - of course much bloodier than today. Do bullfights still take place in Nimes today?
The song at the start "Ectasy of Gold" is from the movie "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" staring Clint Eastwood......you should check that out on your other channel.......actually the entire "Man With No Name" trilogy of movies is worth a watch.

If you want some different Metallica you should give "Until it Sleeps" a listen/watch.......recommend the video version though.....that was the start of the whole "OMG they cut their hair" BS
