There may not be any Hetfield "yeeaaahh!"s on the studio version but in concert I'm sure its peppered with them. ...Justice is my favorite album from them, lots of hidden gems on there. It's a cold, bleak, dry album that was "oddly" engineered but features some of the most complex song structures they'll ever write, which is what speaks to me.
I started listening to Metallica when Ride the Lightning came out, but I consider "And Justice For All," to be "my" Metallica album, if that makes sense. I think there's only one song on the album I don't like, but the rest of it...chef's kiss. I also got to see it front row, just left of center on the opening night of the tour. Jason Newstead handed me a beer in a solo cup from the stage. I think I had just turned 17. So good.
This is the 1st hard rock/heavy metal song I ever heard. I was 15 and had cut grass to earn money to buy the tape after seeing the album cover art on a shirt at school. I was totally blown away and, metalhead 4 life

You can ask anyone who saw that tour that it was Metallica's message to the world that they had arrived and in the mood to kick every ass they saw. They blew every band on the bill off the stage. This song was the preview to the new album that wasn't released yet. My friends and I looked at each other and said well if the rest of the album is like this we are in for a major ass kicking . We weren't disappointed . And Justice For All was probably the last true Metallica thrash album as The Black album only had moments of thrash.
I seen them for the 1st time on that tour too. My area's lineup was Metallica, Van Halen and the headliner was Iron Maiden. I think I was 9 years old at the time. This show literally shaped my life.
It was Harvester of Sorrow. Saw them on 2 shows on the Monsters of Rock tour and they played Harvester. They did blow everyone off stage. The LA Coliseum was insane. About 15,000 people rushed the stage. Eventually, they pulled the power on Metallica 3 songs in because it gor dangerous with all the chaos.

This is the first Metallica song I ever heard and I’ve loved them ever since 😍. I think I was around 13.
Good choice ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🤘🤘🤘🤘
Blackened what a way to start this Epic classic album, timeless material from the pioneer's of thrash/heavy metal
10:35 probably the best part of this song !!!!
As a (West)Berlin born human I can say for a fact that at the time the song was written the nuclear threat was not only real but also subject in many songs of that time. Not only Metallica ones.
But I never heard of that album "Blackened" 😁 I heard this song on "And justice for all". Funfact: It has the same cover as your "Blackened" album 🤣
It's not the time signatures and changes that makes MetallicA unique. It's the transitions and their superb smoothness.
That whole album is worth a listen if you haven't for some reason. One of the first that got me into metal
Got this tape when I was 11, and I had to buy my first guitar at 12 because of it! The whammy in this song and the divebomb in I think ...ajfa had me hooked on metal!
I saw a interview with Kirk where he talks about sometimes he’ll forget how to play the old songs and he’ll have to have somebody download a lesson as a reminder to him how he played it all these years.
