- For over five years, a nationwide search for a suspect in the murder of two rural Indiana teens yielded no answers. The bodies of Abigail “Abby” Williams, 13, and Liberty “Libby” German, 14, were found in the nearby woods by a hiking trail.
Police on Monday announced they have arrested a local man suspected of committing the 2017 #Delphi murders.

I’ve been following the case and this news just made me sick to my stomach! How creepy to know he was someone they’ve interacted with. I can’t imagine how the families feel right now. Praying for peace and healing for the families 🙏🏾❤️

I’m always skeptical when we don’t know the facts… sometimes I feel like investigators want the satisfaction of closing the case and providing some comfort to the community, which could lead to wrongful convictions. But I hope the new information will help solve this case.

One thing I know about Delphi's administration is that they can't be trusted. Why the emphasis on presumed innocent? Why is everything sealed? Zero evidence given to public! If he doesn't get the death penalty, he'll have a terrible time in prison. However, if he does get it, he won't have to worry about anything, especially being put to death. He's 50 right now, so he'll probably be 53-55 by the time he gets sentenced, so he would most likely die a natural death before his execution could be performed.
Death row is on the table for a lot of states, and none of them actually give it. It's sad it's a dying punishment (no pun intended), just too many softies now a days. Smdh

This case hit me hard since day one. As a father of two girls the ages of Abby and Libby at the time, I couldn’t ever imagine the heartbreak of their families. This case shouldn’t be let go and, we can all learn from this horrible tragedy. Much love to the Delphi community and the families of those two girls. Justice has finally come and, it will never be enough but, the bravery of those girls to turn on their phone at such a vital time, will ensure they rest easy. RIP 🙏

It's possible that now this suspect has been arrested, someone may report something that they didn't really connect about something about him in his actions or whatever. I'm sure law enforcement is keeping info close until trial so it can't be tainted.

I watched a video about this case on UA-cam channel- It’s A Crime. Richard Allen had taken a pic of his daughter on the bridge. She looked just like Libby. His wife deleted her Facebook account shortly after the murders. The wife had to have known her husband was a murderer. Allen also has the same gait/walk in Libby’s video. It’s been 5 years since this happened.

I've been following this case from day one and am happy to see there has finally been an arrest. This is the 1st time I'm hearing about the grandparent's interaction with him while having photos made for the funeral, heartbreaking detail. I find it hard to believe this is Richard's first offense. I think this is just his 1st time getting caught (murderers usually commit crimes that eventually lead them to murder) Now that he's been arrested I hope people will come forward with information they never thought was relevant to this case or any other crime he might have committed.
It's definitely not his first thrill kill. We don't even know if they were raped yet. The devil walks among us and we must be aware and on guard. NEVER feel you're being too strict with your kids. God bless.

He had Access to PII...names, addresses, dob, etc. People are getting hung up on the pictures. Yes, that's creepy but he had private information on almost everyone in town.

This case has been followed since the beginning. The sadness is felt by all. God bless all involved.
I think the sadness is being replaced with some peace that the killer has been identified and that the case is still being aggressively worked on. That has to be a very secure feeling in the small community. Peace and hope is a strong energy and I hope it vibrates through the town quickly.

It is bewildering to think it’s his first crime but like Colonel Russell Williams in Canada beginning like that made it sound like a ‘mid life crisis’ to act out finally the fantasies that plagued him for years. So many wives adapt to weirdness that to them it’s become normal. They rarely tell the truth if they truly suspected something, it usually isn’t this kind of crime.

I wondered why he took that pic of his daughter there but I didn’t know it was after the murders. That’s creepy anyway you look at it. If I was her and knew 2 other girls were killed there I would never go there for any reason even with my dad.

The picture that they show of allen isn't accurate to what he looks like normally. He had hooded eyes. And the pictures from 2017, he looked much younger and slimmer
I totally agree. Huge difference between somebody in their 20's and somebody in their 50's. I saw an old man in that video, not a young guy. Dude flew under the radar because of it! And neither composites looked like him.
I think the suspect looks like the first picture other than the hair.
Sketches are from memories of people. Trying to tell someone the features of a face they saw in quick passing is rather difficult. If you're not 100% focused on someone, you're not going to provide a picture perfect description.

Saw the clip of the killer and the girls on the bridge years ago and it has always haunted me... Never left my mind.. I have never given up thinking that he would be caught.. I follow unsolved cases and it brought such a sense of relief that this horrific beast of a man is so close now to being brought to justice.. god bless the children and their loved ones.. especially the mother's of the two beautiful girls xxxxxxxxxx

I find it amazing that in such a small town no one could identify the image of the man on the bridge given that it was broadcast across the world, you would think that someone might have made the connection between that man walking on the bridge and the alleged Richard Allen.
Right, he has a wife and daughter. They didn’t recognize the clothing he was wearing. His neighbors? He lived or worked right next to the police department. NO ONE suspected him? He lived so close to the crime scene. I just hate that this has taken so long but am relieved it may be coming to an end. So devastating

I live in a small town in NE Arizona. I grow more and more horrified by the brazenness of evil and its tentacles into small towns across our nation. When I was a child, such evil was in urban areas almost exclusively. Rarely in small towns. Now, everywhere we turn, large or small, evil is coming out of the shadows in horrific brazenness. If not for my faith, I'd be scared to death.
It's not that people are more evil now, it's that we're more informed. In the global society we share, now we have a lot less privacy (thankfully) so much more abuse and previously excused behavior is revealed to the public eye. Predators have less shadows to hide behind.

I am also from the four corners area...(specifically NW New Mexico) and honestly, it's the Native females that are afraid here. The number of missing and murdered indigenous women is higher around here than anywhere in the nation.
So, while I agree that we mostly see crime spread out per capita, it certainly isnt always the rule. Apparently, some evil just looks for and finds its prey in small towns and rural areas. We need to help these women.

There can be no motive good enough for what happened. I'm so sick of hearing about how kids get abused and killed and the only question that stays in my head is "is there a death penalty?". I didn't believe it execution, but when the victims are children... and I know that the jail will be forsed to protect the perp... I just can't justify a child killer having the right to the same oxygen as normal people.

UA-cam channel- It’s A Crime posted a great video about the Delphi murderer. He had taken a pic of his daughter on the bridge and she looks just like Libby. His wife had to have known he did this. She deleted her Facebook account shortly after the murders. He definitely walks just like the guy on the bridge. Those poor precious girls. I read he had left them naked in vulgar positions. 😡😡

The police were digging up his fire pit about 2 weeks ago. They probably found the girls clothes with his DNA on it. It’s A Crime posted a video about this case 2 days ago. He took a pic of his daughter on the bridge and she looks just like Libby. I read he left Libby and Abby naked in perverted positions. He deserves the death penalty! 😡😡

I'm disturbed by the fact that the media and the police both talking about it as if the case was solved. I hope they got the right guy, but it wouldn't be the first time police charging the wrong person. And now with all the bell and whistle, would the police ever owe up if this turned out to be a wrongful arrest? Innocence till proven guilty Sir?
You don't know what police have on this guy. Probably loads of evidence, so they have a right to look/speak confident.
Let’s hope they do have enough evidence that there is no doubt of his guilt BUT he is entitled to a fair trial before he is pronounced guilty.

He is being held in a prison away from Delphi for HIS protection. Meaning he knows a lot and they want that information. That must be why everything is sealed.

I'm so glad you mentioned the impact some of these cases have on law enforcement as well. People can be extremely critical of them but many don't realize what it takes to work these cases. At the end of the day, they feel just like you and I. Thank you.

I can't help but wonder why his wife didn't see the striking resemblance of her husband, his blue jacket and hat? She obviously wasn't with him at the time if the murders.
For 6 years, with the murders in her town, how could she not have asked herself the obvious questions about her husband?

I live about 40 miles south of Delphi, and I’m really proud of our Indiana LE! They’ve been doing such great work on this case and I’m sure they will continue to! Big step forward arresting this man.

Just thinking about the fact that he developed pictures at CVS where the families went and probably tons of other families that have children. It just makes you wonder if he just sat back and looked at these pictures non-stop until they were picked up. I just thought about that when I got out of the shower because I just can't make my mind up about the wife, if she knew or not but either way, the daughter didn't know. It's just so sad to think about what they're going to go through and with the families of the victims have already gone through, as well as the victims. All because a monster decided to do something stupid to try to make himself feel sensational

@@tmn8547 I think there is def a connection.. maybe they just didn't figure it out until recently but they had been watching him for a little while b4 arresting him. I think he was a possible suspect but then they got info that confirmed. Not sure if he's bridge guy but even if not, they're MUCH CLOSER! I think there was someone else working with bridge guy. It was allegedly all filmed so someone was holding the camera. I'm wondering if they have the footage of the murder? Omg I couldn't watch it. After the news conference I believe it was the grandma that spoke said that when the family went to pick up some photos from CVS, Richard gave them to the family free of charge out of generosity for loosing the girls. Sicko
I agree this is very sad for his child also as for these families of those beautiful girls who were so talented and smart in school and that was taken from them and from there families to see them graduate and go on to do something wonderful with there life .
Heck, developing photos is nothing compared to being a Pharmacy Tech and having access to date of birth, address, family members, etc.

Looking at these two precious sweet girls breaks my heart. How could anyone hurt these two innocent little girls? I can't understand the monster that did this. I think you'd have to be so evil and insensitive to even entertain a thought to harm these little sweethearts. I hope that this creature suffers the harshest punishment that can be administered to a human being. He not only murdered these girls, but he also stole the love of their parents' lives. Not to mention, how these girls' futures would have been, marriages, grandchildren, and many amazing holidays that will never happen. I honestly don't know if there is a punishment that could compare to the loss of their families. The only thing that comes to mind is that he may spend the rest of his eternal life in Hell.

Please please do not show his picture on the same screen as those precious girls. Especially between them. If I were the family that would upset me horribly. It did upset me and I am not family. I think he looks very much like the sketches. I see my pharmacy techs often as I am 72. It is someone you see face to face and know without knowing. The town must feel so strange having interacted with him. It leaves me shaking my head and I don't live there. Such a horrible tragedy and loss beyond words. I hope the family can go forward with much love and support.
