Andrew Dice Clay - The Evolution Of Dirty Nursery Rhymes
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 тра 2014
- In 1984, a small crowd of less than 100 people didn't know what to make of a chain-smoking, 50s greaser-throwback turning beloved Mother Goose nursery rhymes into offensively dirty poems about sex.
Within a few years Andrew Dice Clay's popularity increased and his audiences, getting as large as 20,000 people, laughingly knew every word of his "poems" in some of the biggest crowd-participations ever afforded a stand-up comedian.
People loved the nursery rhymes and Dice reciprocated and truly appreciated his audience. - Комедії
Diceman Cometh was some of the best audience interaction i've ever seen from a comedian
Every time I watch it, that is exactly what I think.
Its because of his routine everyone loved tge one liners and knew what was coming nowadays you have some bald turd talk about how much he hates his family for 30 minutes without a single joke
Never before has a comedian had the crowd chant his jokes like a singer
I think I would act the same way if I was there
It was great, but not sold out Madison Square Garden shouting them back great.
I still laugh like a 12 year old when he says ... "Little Boy Blue... he needed the money." One of the best one-liners ever.
country boy can
Tralfaz666 what's does that mean?
blue = blew
Came here just for that line
Sounds kind of weird bro
The power he has over that crowd is spellbinding. WOW
Kinda like a Trump rally.
Mass hysteria!!!
This guy could start riots. I love this man.
but can he start his own joke? he ripped off Rodney Rude, Carlos Mencia style. search youtube
But like you yourself said... "Now I'm not making any claims or accusations here as I don't know the full story behind either of these and have nothing but respect both of these comedians, but I found this coincidence rather interesting!"

Below is Copied from the description of this video: ua-cam.com/video/BnyIbb2ofxQ/v-deo.html
This video shows Dice performing the same joke in 1987 that Rodney Rude introduced on his "Rude Rides Again" 1986 performance. Only 1 word is different.
---
Andrew Dice Clay is seen in the second half of this video performing a joke in 1987 (original video of full gig at www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWzI_...). HOWEVER, well over a year earlier in 1986 Australian comedian Rodney Rude (who's 14yrs older than Dice) released his "Rude Rides Again" video (VHS tape back then), a joke he'd been telling even before filming the video, where Rodney used it as his entrance joke which you see in the first half of this video.
Now I'm not making any claims or accusations here as I don't know the full story behind either of these and have nothing but respect both of these comedians, but I found this coincidence rather interesting, especially given the specific and weird nature of the joke!
Rodney Rude is an immortal legend, his website is www.rude.com.au
Dice is also a legend in his own right so this single video should not change your mind about him, his website is www.andrewdiceclay.com
@@DaveWhoa Carlos Mencia ripped of EVERY comic!!!
That moment at 5:05 with the crowd interaction is so amazing. It made Dice break character for a second. Legendary moment.
I like how he didn't get mad and just went with it.........
Dice's evolution over the years parallels Al Pacino almost perfectly. Starts off as a quiet, unassuming dude but turns into the yelling guy later on; Dice does the "Oh!" and Pacino does the "hoo hah!"
Kyle Douglas I was thinking along those lines as well. 1984, it sounded almost like he was just saying it unsure if it would work. A few years later, he’s saying it like he fucking means it.
+1 insightf-OH!
Love how the guys high five after the dirty joke is delivered.
I love how he’s cracking up at the audience yelling jokes back to him!
I no longer remember the ACTUAL nursery rhymes thanks to Dice.
Yup, me too. I hate ADC. He's made a semi-decent career playing himself; an arsehole from Brooklyn. But those nursery rhymes are just burned into Gen-X's collective consciousness. "Hickory dickory dock"
The Dice man is lucky his stardum came in the 80s$ nowadays he'd be doing life without parole.
@@milkapeismilky5464 Jack just wasnt that quick. Now he in the hospital with a burnt fucking dick. Now hes jackeline . The new age women from 2022. You know the ones with a beard and a cock.
Mike H the actual nursery rhymes suck but the dice man makes them better
Dice was in meadow view secaucus NJ phyciatrist ward . My wife was there she was the only one that recognized him. Dice said my lawyer is gonna get outta here. He sure did. The doctor must of said get the fuck out and stick these in your pocket.
_Mary had a little sheep, one night with it she went to sleep. The sheep turned out to be a ram, and Mary had a little lamb._
Alex Korova Yea, he said that? Point is?
Shawn Aloia Wrong! He didn't say that.....know what you're commenting about next time, dumb-ass.
Alex Korova A buddy of mine was mad at Georgia Frontiere for moving the LA Rams to St. Louis and came up with this gem.
Georgia had a bunch of sheep and with these sheep she went to sleep.
The sheep turned out to be the Rams and Georgia has a bunch of lambs.
iceman91321
Good one.....a lot of folks in Baltimore must have had the same reaction when the Colts moved to Indianapolis on a cold snowy night in the '80s.
Alex Korova OH
It’s surreal to see people not just laughing, but on their feet and cheering. It’s like this man is a preacher in the coliseum
Totally ! And back in an era where there was no smartphone distractions.
It's like a Trump rally.
I love how much more enthusiastic he got with them as the years went on
As a skitzo, I appreciated the skitzo joke, and so did all my friends.
I love how he shouts OH after every joke XD
9:00
It's the New Yorker accent that really sells it!
When he says , ..”0000hhh !!!”
At the end of each nursery rhyme it just is the icing on the cake!!!!! DICE !!!!😂🤣🤗⭐️👍🏼♥️
That's the "dicing" on the cake, OHHH!
I love that he reaches such heights he doesn't even have to finish the jokes anymore. It's like Comedy Nirvana
DICE had delivery.
Dan Agin yes he did. he perfected his act to a T . unfortunately he lacked coming up with new material.
Can u image this guy on social media at his prime
yeah he's make no money cause everyone would watch his material for free on youtube..
One of the greatest poets of our time
I’ve seen Dice three times since 1990. Her recent show in Nov 2022 in Englewood, NJ was his best show ever. His material dealing with COVID was priceless.
I have to look that up - sounds great!
Just proves that Dice has been amazing for over 4 decades.
His delivery is the key. I could never get away with this.
“She got a bone of her own I don’t know.”
Perfect delivery in 1989, keep coming back for his intonations alone
He’s a revolutionary comic. If I hear a nursery rhyme from my kids or anywhere my mind goes right to Dice. His show on Showtime was AWESOME! Wish they’d bring it back
Damn that's revolutionary, being able to remember a joke you've heard!
This guy should have been in The Sopranos as the comedian in the nursing home or at The Bada Bing...
Roses are red
Nuts are brown
Skirts go up
Pants go down
Body to body Skin to skin
When its stiff
Stick it in
The Longer its in
The Stronger it gets
It goes in dry And comes out wet
It comes out dripping And starts to sag
Its not what you think......
Its a Teabag
Neva.
OOHHH!
OOOHHHHH FAGETA BOUT EHH
OOOHHHHH FAGETA BOUT EHH
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'll never forget that line from Ford Fairlane. Approaches the two tay dudes. "What are your names? Neal, and Bob, or is that what you do?"
HA!!! Hell yeah
3:07 This man became an absolute icon man. Everyone enjoyed his stand up.
My wife is not too fond of them. My son loves them.
always no matter how old he his he will always be the diceman
9:03 the "EUUGHUGH" after Jack Be Nimble lmao
Jack & Jill went up the hill both with $1.25, Jill came down with $2.50.
But jack asked "what's up with that?" cause all he got was a little "crack"...OOOOhhhh.
“That fuckin whore” lmao
they didn't go for no water
That fukin whore ohhhhh
the first is my favourite because the audience is full of old people yet he wasn't intimidated into modifying his act to be polite he did it the way most want to but wouldn't and wasn't even known yet but had the confidence
I remember hearing about Andrew Dice Clay when I was growing up, but being Mormon wasn't allowed to hear his stand-up. Now that I left the church, I was able to FINALLY enjoy his comedy!!! Love you Dice Man!!!❤❤❤
I'm 33 and I've always knew who Dice was but I'm just now listening to his stuff cause of the show he has on Showtime. And I love this shit!! Even got the Ford Fairlane movie which I know people think isn't that good but I like it a lot...
I'm 40 so he was like a demigod, we'd get his tapes in Jr High and they were hilarious - in 1989 he was huge and that year was banned from MTV for life, in 1990 he became the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row and that same year he did Saturday Night Live (Sinéad O'Connor also boycotted but when she was on later she burnt a flag onstage) it led to Adventures of Ford Fairlane in 1990 which did not go over well and Dice would never be as big.
He's far from the only dirty comic, but it was the way he pronounced things, his act, his attire, he was great
Robert Did you catch his show that was on recently on Showtime I think it was on? It only had 6 episodes but they were funny as hell. And there were a lot of guest apperances like Micheal Rappaport, and Adrien Brody. I hope they make another season cause that shit was funny as hell.
downfan1 No, i missed it. I will get to that, but let me digress. I thought the reality show years ago (forget what channel)was very good. Dice is a great guy, good dad, he actually has an anxiety issue. I'm not sure to what degree (but watch him talk about Joey Buddafucco or however you spell it when that happened and he was having breathing issues from anxiety) So not long ago i came across a Dice show on Showtime and watched the first one and loved it but figured i'd catch up yet i heard it was cancelled. Dice is awesome. People will never know how awesome he was in 1988, 1989, and 1990. From selling out The Garden two nights in a row, to Sat Night Live O'conner would boycott, to the problem, i think, was Ford Fairlaine in 1990. I didn't see it till later, and it was cool but i think people expected more. He's a very interesting guy to listen to, also
Robert Yeah I thought Ford Fairlane was good. I mean I'm sure the critics thought it sucked but I thought it was funny....Yeah the show on showtime you seen might have been the show I'm talking about, it was just called Dice. and it was about him living in Vegas and that one comedian chick played his wife. She's kind of good looking but anyway yeah there was only 6 episodes and I thought it was really funny, I hope they didn't cancel it.
downfan1 I'll have to check it out. I love Dice, he's an awesome dude. Thing is i never saw Ford Fairlane when it came out, and i dont' know why, i was 13 i think, it was `1990, so im' not sure why i didn't watch it till much later
I still remember listening to this with my Long Island friend Noah at Boston University in 1991 - my and my 2 English mates never laughed so hard, it hurt!
Dice was the man back then!!! He was a rock star comic.
I remember hearing dice talk about how Guns n Roses wanted him to be the opening act that would of been killer
This man hasn't received his true respect for his comedy he is one of the greatest no matter what color
Even the ladies were saying it. If this was out today they’d chew him out for this.
My mom thought he was hilarious i was a bit too young for his material. 1990, depending on the time of year, I was 9 or 10.
I found him grating as a kid, but I think I knew he was dirty and that the material wasn't really for me so I just stayed away at that age.
It is pretty funny though.
I'm a lady and I think he's hilarious.
Facts
People didn't take everything so personal ....it's just Funny
Not really. It's just comedy.
One time I said the the spidy joke to my brother , and my kids all under 9 heard it and they kept laughing and repeating it. The mom got pissed off , yelled at them and me we kept laughing quietly 😂😂
I read nursery rhymes last weekend and all i could think of was DICE!!! Dice was huge
The world today needs the Dice Man
God damn, his crowds are wild.
Roses are red
violets are blue
I'm a schizophrenic
so am I
Yes he is the BEST!!
He makes Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor sound like Bill Cosby!!😀😍
I am one
Bill Murray also says this im what about bob. But Diceman did it first.
@Lesie Serrano same
What’s funny is the way the people react over the years. You can see the moral decay over the years. That being said.., he is hilarious! Love it!
The reactions from the audience at the end are the best part of the whole video lol.
His early delivery is almost like Seinfeld.
They're both Jewish New Yorkers.
Except Dice grew up in Bensonhurst so he acts like he's Italian
He also reminds me a bit of Travolta in the early days.
5:48
The best compilation of Andrew Dice Clay's nursery rhymes.
Thank you for posting!
You're welcome.
And thats ladies and gentlemen how the word "kill" was invented
A 90's game called Blood brought me here. The player character references the "what's in the bowl bitch?" part when he kills a boss in the game that happens to be a giant spider monster.
same. I love blood it's such a good game.
Eminem in killshot: what the fs in the bowl?
TUNNEL SNAKES RULE! WE'RE THE TUNNEL SNAKES! THAT'S US....AND WE RULE!!
CravenDrip8435 I didn’t get the reference. Is it a fallout 3 reference?
Fallout 3!
Imagine telling somebody in 2008 that in 10 years there would be a fallout 76 and not even explaining that theres no fallout 5-75
This was awesome! Thanks for the upload. I still tear up and sides busted from laughing so hard. Even after all this time!
AMEN to the last thing he says in this video!!!!
James Cav Yep I agree, and the internet killed the news paper industries dominenece, many have shrunk or shuttered
Imagine this guy today with buzzfeed and other shit
Unfortunately the internet is killing the freedom of speech
There are no Amended
He certainly tightened them up and added more attitude. Goes to show what a good decade of work can get you. Don't forget he began in '78 doing clean material.
The delicate and gentle legend that is Dice
I miss the times like this when everyone had fun.
Being back the 80s - today stinks!
They are the best Nursery rhymes.
This bit, and the whole “Dice” character, started when a John Travolta impersonator bought a ticket to see Otto & George.
by 1991 he was in charge lol..... ADC for the Win!!!
The evolution of the crowd is better than anything else it's fantastic.
I got goose bumps!!! Love this dude!!
The last 30 or so seconds of this is the best part in my opinion. This man is unarguably Legend status.
Have to wear my dice shirt to the next woman's day march
The young kids don’t understand. This wasn’t stand up it was a performance and man did he kill it. Just look at how pumped the crowds are to hear the material they already know.
It's 2022 and i STILL remember the act just like the crowd lol I'm gonna watch his movie ford Fairlane again for reminiscing
So thats where Gilbert Gottfreid gets 'Ohh!' from.
You mean dice Gottfried
I always forget how much Dice seriously rules.
a legend nursery rhyme writer! OOoHHHHHHHHH!
We NEED the Diceman....NOW!
I remember hearing these dirty nursery rhymes in middle school and highschool (im 27 born in '91) I just found out about Andrew "DICE" Clay about a month ago and now I know where they come from lol #whatsinthebowlbitch #thanksJRE for the introduction to"THE DICE MAN"
Love this man😂😂😂
I remember watching this HBO Special decades ago……
The DiceMan is definitely one of a kind!!!!!!
11:33 kills me everytime.
In 2019 half the audience would get triggered , offended and would leave to go for therapy
Only half? I suspect at least 80%. It sucks, because comedy has gotten rather dull.
No they'll sue and claim racism and causing riots.
@@anthonyferguson7158 Well look at george Carlin some of what he said in his comedy is right we all are screwed..
you guys really love to overrate old shit just to bash on the new shit hahahaha like we don't have Tracy Morgan talking about fucking elephants, so just stop.
Dice Man is awesome
Awesome. Diceman for president.
Yeah !! Then at least, when we got FUCKED by the government we might even get a laugh.
DICE IS THE MAN!
All I can say is just Thank You!!
No problem.
A poetic masterpiece!
Classic! Luv the dice man!
When you are this talented...The Dice Man, There is only One!
What a show, you dont see gigs like this today.
Always funny to hear these nursery rhymes!!
Those were the best days of dice , if we could only go back one more time
THIS was a thing.
THIS was a moment in time...
Where this character captured the nation's imagination, using next to nothing.
They didn't care about the lines, they cared about The Character.
1984: Audiences had joyful fun
2020: Audiences look to get insulted and outraged
BULLSHIT!!!!
1984: Audiences had joyful fun
2020: Audiences still have joyful fun
@Ryan No I'm not actually.
We must not be seeing the same shit as you because nowadays, yeah there are some people that still laugh and have fun but there are a lot of cry babies who bitch and moan about JOKES!! It’s so fuckin pathetic
That is a change, seeing the crowd make the comedian chuckle.
I imagine this is what scientology church services are like
Scientology, you're not devout until the check clears.
Thank you for this 😁
He’s coming to Phoenix in two weeks, heavily considering seeing him.
Did you go see him?
Fr I’m curious
I'd be laughing if I werent so blown away by the size of the audience and how they knew his material by the end of it. Takes most comedians much longer to get there if they even do. The Diceman is awesome.
Prime example of a fuckin hilarious dude. Im gay. And his gay jokes make me howl. All of them do. Theyre time approproate. Guy is fuckin savage. Love it. Doesnt give a shit just tells a joke. Wish modern comedy would do the same. If we cant laugh how the fuck we going go get along. Much love Sheffield, England.
Cant wait for the COMEBACK!!!! I worked at Colin Creek Mall in Plano in the late 90s and early 2000s wish i was still there to catch you live. 💯👑❤
thank you for this
Timeless
I miss the good ol' days.
The few, the proud, the vulgar.
I just now realized Sebastian Maniscalco is basically just doing a dice clay in personation
Rover Took Over and Jack Be Nimble were both staples of my childhood jokes in the 80s. Just finding out more than 3 decades later that they came from Dice!
