Great medium fixed blade from Lionsteel I should have had one of these long ago Get 10% from whitemountainknives.com/ using my discount code "sharpstuff"
I tend to stay to lower end steels like 1095; but still really nice to see upper end brands makeing basic designs. Never dulling 1095 that often to begin with.
If you liked It , read my other comment here. I strongly beleive, that even G10 fans, should buy the Micarta version, or at least any of the wood versions. The numbers I saw on sites, about the weight of each model, are not always true. The Micarta weight and balance, makes a huge difference.
Read this, if you are a potential buyer: The newer micarta version is so much better, both in terms of how it feels but also weight and balance! I didn't expect that it would have such a difference in weight but I took the risk and bought the Micarta version too. It feels like they cut weight from the micarta, made it hollow from the inside or something, because the difference between Micarta and G10 shouldn't be so big. If anyone liked G10 version, I bet they would love micarta version even if they are G10 fans. PS I don't own, any of the wooden versions but Micarta feels so perfect especially in terms of weight, that I wouldn't go for wood. It made me so much happier, that I don't even look or care for the G10 version anymore. I will probably sell it.
PS2 Go for the natural Micarta, the Green one I bought, doesn't look very nice in person, PS3 the Leather sheath in the newer Micarta version , has the same design and materials sheath but with thicker Leather and somehow, it feels the same weight with the older thinner leather sheath. IF only this knife had a most suitable steel , like 52100, 3V or A2... then, this would be my all time favorite knife. The handle is nothing less, than perfecton.
@@greekveteran2715 I know what you're saying about micarta but I really love the G10 on my m4. It feels totally bomb proof and really grippy. I also like the weight it adds. It feels like it holds better in my hand with that extra bit of weight. I guess it comes down to personal preference.
@@mrdarren1045 If you have tried the new micarta version I agree, if not. Then, I have to tell you, that I was G10 fan, and I had the exact same opinion like you, until I tried the new version! MUCH more improved. Better balance, better feel etc. Also G10 is a bit more brittle than canvas micarta, simply because it is a harder material that includes glass! It might feel a bit more robust, but in use, things are much different! I have both but I would now choose , micarta first or wood. I also love G10 but this knife, is way too heavy and unbalanced with G10.
LionSteel has alot to offer when it comes to fixed blades... If you got bigger hands this M4 might be a little too small... but the M3, M5, T5, and of course the M7 are more for larger hands...
Welcome to the club Kevin, I always thought this knife was under appreciated. Mine Is in walnut wood handle. It also comes in santos, olive, and micarta.
I just ordered an M4. I like the size and design of the M5 better but at least as I can tell M390 is more than a little superior to Sleipner and they don't offer the models in each steel.

If LS made the M5 with M390 I’d buy one.

@@greekveteran2715 Why do you not like the superior m390 blade? It is phenominal.
Park River knives need to revisit their sheath designs. The Lion Steel sheath is epic...

yeah I have a t5 on the way and the m7 is on my list as well

I thought about micarta but went with santos wood. Hope it wears well.
i like them so much i have 2
Get their M5 & T5 too!
going to get a t5 for sure we will see about the m5 but I do like the look of both
I was going to suggest the T5 as well. Amazing knife and possibly the best factory sheath I’ve seen
Agreed the T5 is amazing. I was going to suggest it as well. I love mine.
@@COWBOYJDUB I just ordered the T5. Can't wait
