Yup. Im a 74yr old woman but have always worked with both my parents. Helped dad with woodworking was taught dressmaking at mum's knee, literally. Sitting on the floor by her old singer treadle machine. We all worked in the garden they eventually bought. It had a house attached luckily.
I have loved seeing all the old tools coming up. Like my dads and my tool boxes.
Grew up watching dad mend our shoes using his last and mum mangle the excess water out of the sheets and towels. Our 1948 council hoses had separate wash houses with electric powered copper boilers.

Only this morning I was having a quick look at my notifications and thinking, 'I haven't seen Magnetic G on here for a while'. Came in from the garden this afternoon, sat down with a cup of tea, turned on my laptop and there you are! Enjoyed your hunt. The 2 stainless knives are butchers knives. The Victorianox handle was probably wrapped to better the grip. The plastic handles get very slippery when handling meat and fat. Happy hunting!

At 25:40 about when you throw the magnet through the circular object and the rope magically is still connected to the piece of metal.... what the heck, how did that happen?? You were even confused that it happened and well so am I lol... freaking magic man!!

Well done George in working out what that chair was with the three legs. It probably had a wicker seat in it. I am amazed at how many knives are found in these rivers/canals. I can only imagine they were being carried for ill intent and disposed of quickly afterwards. It's shocking really.

No we don’t report all the knives we find because we find so many of them and I don’t think the police would welcome all the paperwork! Great first day out!
Crayfish are related to lobsters, shrimp, prawns, and other similar creatures. They are known as crustations because they have an exoskeleton, which means they don't have bones and instead have a hard shell. When they grow, they need to shed their shell and grow a new one in its place. Crayfish are edible, but you need quite a number of them to make a meal. They are farm raised in Louisiana USA and elsewhere for use in stews and also live in the wild as well as you found those two. Crayfish are also used as bait because many fish eat them.

@@Magneticg You're welcome. Crayfish are quite tasty, but a bit on the small size. Lobster is a lot better and are native to where I live in New England. Maine, located 100 miles from me is famous for lobsters but they're really expensive.

Yes the notices are a great idea, it just stops people assuming that we are leaving scrap metal behind with no intentions of moving it. Unfortunately some magnet fishers do leave their scrap metal behind and it gives responsible magnet fishers a bad name. Hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching 👍

Creepy knife and hammer. The killing fields..., lot of crap in there, amo box, that was a car jack for changing tires, knife from a crime scene and a burner phone, you took the camera home from the Crayfish, sell those wheels to an artist, drug spoons, and more weapons. Someone has been killed for every knife you find. How sad. That was a door pin, I would get the heck out of there at night.
We can honestly say that we have never found so many knives in such a small stretch of river! It was crazy and no not the best place to be after dark! Hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching 👍

My goodness the knives 😳 that's a little scary. I am curious, what is the average depth of your rivers and the average depth of your canals? Have y'all ever hooked a complete car? We have people here in the USA that use those magnets to tag cars. After they tag them and dive on them to check for people who may be in them, they then have them towed out of the rivers, lakes and creeks. God bless
Hi Catherine, yes the knives were a little scary!
The depths of U.K. rivers and canals vary greatly, some of the larger rivers such as our local river Trent can be approx 20 feet deep or more at some points. Canals are usually around 6 feet deep but some can be deeper. We have never yet found an entire car only parts of cars including a chassis! Hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching 👍

A few comments and a question. George my word but you get better looking everytime I see you (which has been awhile)! You seem to grow sweeter with each video, I think you must be a very good young man and am sure your mom and dad are very proud of you. Dad, you are as strong as an ox!!! Can't believe what you haul out and then getting that magnet unstuck. It was very kind of you all involving that family in their first magnet fishing adventure, they really seemed to enjoy themselves and will probably be talking about it for some time. With that being said I was rather jealous as we haven't seen you all for awhile and they were taking up too much of camera ladies time!!!Sorry so wordy, very happy to see u all again. Question, in America we have states, ex. my state being Ky. We have cities, towns etc. but also counties. Do you all have counties and what part of England are you in. Hi Martha yes we do have counties in the U.K, we live in the county of Nottinghamshire which is also known as Robin Hood county. Sherwood Forest is where Robin Hood lived which is just a stones throw from where we are. We hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching 👍

When I first saw the bullet I thought it was a petrol lighter, my Mum had one that looked the same although slightly bigger. Your find may have been made as a match case, a great little find.
