- Cycling in Denmark is a lot of fun. We cycled along the west coast and slept in free shelters in nature. We'll definitely visit Denmark again.

its correct the we have danish pastry (wienerbrød)
but most of the westcast is know for its cakes.
as a dane i have to say you have go go to other parts of denmark to get real danish pastry
on the westcoast they dont even have names for some of the bakerystuff, its just bread 🤭
even though we have chains of bakery´s you will find all over, its not real danish pastry they sell
and the ones they sell are not correct, its fancy caffe cakees for a over price
a donut you can geet all over, but our pasty is another thing
my whole family moved to the area where you are eating that cake, and we have not seen danish pastry sense we moved here, and it is not something we find unless we start crossing bridges

Dankjewel! Het was een lastige start, maar het fietsen hielp zeker. De westkust van Denemarken en de vele shelters zijn zeker een bezoek waard :)

Is your free shelter information on an App and if so what is it called? Also is the route on the map a documented cycle route and if so how is it accessed! Just loving your journey and challenges and health willing would love to follow in your yiur footsteps next year👍
Thank you! The shelters can be found on the Shelter App, it shows you all the shelters in Denmark. We didn't follow a specific cycling route, but you can find our route on my website: yvettekooijman.nl/onze-reis. Hope that helps, and good luck with your travels! :)
Where is the second shelter ? Where you put the tent inside of the shelter because were spiders inside 😅 I tried to find him on the app but I couldn’t :(
Do you mean the tipi shelter? It was at Røjklit Havn. And yes we might have done that because of the spiders hahah
