Would this work on my 2018 540i?
I think this is my last bmw. I need a car with a remote starter and app for it on the phone. It be sooo cold up north in winter and to see people with Honda and Toyota’s able to remote start from their phone’s is annoying when you have a BMW and can’t do any of that.
Is that wine during startup normal? Does it happen all the time?
So for a 2018 it won’t work?

My just say remote engine not available
Didn't fix it for me, via the app or key, still doesn't work. I've seen like 5 videos saying this, I've turned it off and on again.. still won't work... Even tried resetting the iDrive infotainment system three times and still not working
Dealing with this right now too. :(
You change it in the iDrive settings, but do you still have your remote start active with BMW? I’ve seen people have theirs completely shut off from BMW. Also, remote start does not work if you have a check engine light (if you do on yours that is).
