i have a '22 x3 and the app starts the car but on my '17 540i it doesnt do anything, but i can do everything else like lock and unlock. no idea what the problem is

Make sure you’ve purchased that “Option” when you bought the car. Or if it’s used you better check to see if remote start is available. Options you feel is a waste of money, are the ones you wish you had in the FL weather!! 🥵
It's good but not as good as when pierce brosnon( James Bond) was sitting in the back lying down on the backseat with guns shooting at him and he was driving the car... I think that was golden eye... 10 thumbs up for any one who played the game and watched the movie... and I am sure it was a SONY ERICSSON...that was so cool.. bloodclart I am old...., yeah it was a movie but back then it looked Kool with a K.... when you watch them old films with them old phones wow... snappy slappy battery take the dead one out put the fully charged one in and you were good to go. No fast charging it was all about the double charger where you could charge the phone and your spare battery. I miss the 90s and the 2000s.... F you Samsung and Apple.. we got chargers in the box... change the front and the back of the phone and your phone looked hot 🔥
You have to understand you can remote start it from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Other remote start systems work off a range area and that's why they work quicker.

It’s a setting in the car so when you turn on climate control it will turn your engine on if you are starting climate control from key or app
