#2. Don't unlock all door with one click. It's for your own safety. Unless you always travel with another companion.
Agreed, i'd only recommend it if multiple enter the vehicle at once.
kek imagine living in a shithole where u cant even unlock all your doors like in every other car
Good idea...
I was going to make this exact point. Do NOT unlock all doors as a default option. This is a thieves best friend and you don't want to make friends with thieves. I see this around my area all the time when people fill up at a gas station and put their car in park, all their doors open up, BAD idea. The thieves are lurking around and I've seen them getting in the passenger side doors and stealing purses and whatever else is laying around in the vehicle. I'm sure there are good areas where this is will be OK but generally, not a good idea..
@@Bug13 in europe we don't have this problem that big, good luck there!

Glad it helped! Thanks for the comment! Don't forget to Subscribe if you haven't already so I can help you answer questions in the future!
Great video! Lane Departure fix was awesome! I also had no idea you can preset almost ANY feature in the car with the 8 buttons that I thought were ONLY for radio stations. The only downside is that I lose one of my favorite SiriusXM stations to sync up climate control. Can't have the best of both worlds. Thank you!
Glad it helped! Anytime :)
@@BeamerView I've recently picked up a new 2023 X3 and 2021 340xi and can definitely use your support. Thank you!

Good tips, I just got my BMW 318i 2022 model. Thanks for the tips 😊😊
Glad I could help! Reach out if you ever have any questions!
Of one the most features to me is the east access steering wheel - I haven’t been able to turn that off and my 2021 groans each time I turn the car on and it extends the steering wheel. One nice to have future would be to program the front camera or 360 view to come on when you are below 5 mph to help with parking, I don’t think BMW has that option, but they should consider adding it OTA.
I can see how that can be annoying, hopefully they fix it soon! And yes that’s a genius idea, or even if BMW could program the GPS to sense when your in a parking lot it’ll just come on. Like the activation point system they have for the drive recorder.
Well for the AC sync you can use the voice command.
About the map... The minimap in the dashboard is already driving direction, as is the HUD one, I prefer to keep the map on the side north up.
The pop-up thing is interesting.
This video was extremely helpful, thank you.
You're very welcome! Happy Holidays!!
I really hate this steering intervention feature. At a particular roadworks patch they painted the original dotted line with a black paint. On a rainy day this line was shinny and my X5 literarily swerved on to the oncoming traffic.
You mentioned about the arrow on the map pointing opposite direction and change it from the settings. What I did was to just got the compass icon on the screen (without changing anything from car settings) and it adjusted itself to the normal forward direction. You can give a try. Love your videos mate!
Thanks for the feedback Prasad! Yes many instances such as the one mentioned are valid. Not a fan either. And yes you can hit the compass as well!
My 2017 X5 does have lane departure but not the steering intervention. Sometimes those features aren't always convenient
Turn that shjt lff it’s easy
You must done live in California. Trust me, you’ll be glad for the intervention with all these bad drivers out here.
@@Mike1122. so you like it jerking you back in a lane that you no longer want to be in?
Another great video. Thank you.
Question.
Is there any way to change driving modes without having to look down to the buttons? Are shortcut keys able to be set to run specific driving mode example sport?
Hey Ahmed, thanks for the feedback. The best way that comes to mind is by using voice command to change the drive modes. I have tried setting the programmable buttons to do this but didn't have luck with it.
OMFG that reset trick for Carplay... thank you! Been having a horrible time with connectivity on my new M850i
Yess! Whenever there is an update it tends to mess up the connection, glad it worked!
M850i goes crazy
Waaay better than waiting for a red light to turn the car off an dback on again.
I have the on-board GPS completely way off of my real location on my recent 3-Series. Pressing the volume button a long time for a dashboard reset, using the BMW map update via USB or even entering a location hoping it would recalibrate itself doesn't help. I guess I will need to bring the car to the garage for some intervention.
Hey love the details. Can you advise how to disable Disable Easy Entry Exit Steering Wheel on 2019 bmw m5?
Hey Tomaz, thanks for the question. I do not believe you can, you'd have to use bimmercode to disable that, from my knowledge.
Thanks a lot bro, that helps

I hate steering intervention! Thanks for the tip!

How do you deactivate the safety alerts when you are going through a car wash? The car is in neutral but the warning alerts still beep - so annoying . Thanks
Easy! Simply press the parking assistance button when you start hearing the alerts, its the button located near your shifter. Looks like a P with a Cone beside it.
I bought the key holder. I like it. there were extra parts to it so that was confusing but it is pretty cool
That's awesome, agreed those are selling quite a bit!
Great video, Can you cover the i drive 7 climate control. I understood that if you select auto, that the fan speed lines gauge in the center would visually go up and down based on the temp you set. Not the case the fan lines stay the same, but the fans speed can be heard going up or down. Hmmmm.. Your take?
Great question. I know exactly what you mean being a bmw owner myself.
My best input is the fact that if the desired temperature of the car is way off then it’ll purposely blow the fans more than what it’s set to in order to reach that temp.
I’ve noticed that once the temperature is reached the fan meter is more accurate in terms of speed.
You can control the air speed but the temperature of the air blowing in will feel similar to what your temperature is set to.
It’s odd how BMW does it. You would think air speed would be a function that isn’t controllable when it’s set to auto but personally I do like the fact that I can control the speed while being in auto!
Great video! Thank you
Glad you liked it! Let me know if you had any questions!
Really appreciate the video. Do you know if there is the a way to code the car to permanently disable auto stop function? Can't stand that auto stop and it's worrisome newer models don't even give the option to disable it (each time you start the car).
I’m not aware of it but first place I would check would be bimmercode. They seem to have tons of fixes for many annoying features

1:12 i love that feature when I’m in bad neighborhoods. I also turn off the automatic comfort access unlock as well.
Exactly! Great features for those scary situations
Thanks for your info. Another anoying for my BMW 330 LCI 2023 is indoor light always on for couples minute when we open the door. Is there any way to turn off the function ? Thanks.
Yes, the next time you open the door from the inside. Press and Hold the main interior light button and hold it for about 10 secs until it turns off, that should keep the lights off.
I have a 2022 z4 and I wish I could set the driving mode to Sport Plus automatically upon start (unless I can do it o.o). I didnt know about the popup, pretty nice, it was so annoying. Ty for the vid
Thank you for the comments! Unfortunately they usually well just start in comfort mode, I have heard of people using Bimmer code to do software things like what you have mentioned.
@@BeamerView Ahhh I see ok well, at least the popup is gone and that's way better :D ... Keep it up with the videos!
@@TheDiez Plenty more coming, thank you!
Great tips! Thanks.
Tip number 8 for changing Mac map direction, you don’t need to go into settings, click the N icon on the bottom left corner to change between map directions.
Question. How do I set the interior light to turn on when any of the doors are opened?
Great question, I'd try two things.
This is the first one, try holding down the CENTER Interior lighting switch for 3 secs located above nearby the sunroof controls. See Forum Here > www.bimmerfest.com/threads/interior-lights-when-door-open.545839/
You could also try an iDrive Reset which you can HOLD the vol. knob until the screen goes black to restart the system. Takes about 30 secs of holding it down.
Indeed - Surprised they didn't mention this method, much easier (as if by design even)
Is there a way to do a hot key to sync the front and back vents? I have the front vents sync, but would like the temp and fan speed to be the same for the back of the car.
Having just picked up my M240I I agree the steering feature is really dangerous -thanks for the tip, hoping to get the very annoying stop/start coded out along with some other stupid features
Glad it helped, yes I am also not a fan of it!
I've unticked that steering intervention box loads of times but it only stays that way until you turn engine off then it goes back to default
@@vivabielsamot5828 You can code it to remember. Bimmer code is $50 and a $10 adapter and you can turn it off
Very useful. Thanks.

Great video, thank you so much! For me, mine annoys me when my passenger opens my phone to go on Amazon, Pokémon go, Facebook etc and the music stops completely until the app is closed. Not sure if there is a way to change that. Seems to not happen when using apple carplay but happens when using Sirius or Amazon music
Not sure why with Amazon but I do recall Facebook and the others would turn off the music. It’s iPhone thing more than the car I believe.
Anytime another source of music comes on the iPhone it will turn off the previous one that was playing.
Hi, great information. The most annoying feature for me is that there is only a Max AC button, then no way to turn it off unless you ask the BMW assistant to do it. Can the AC be programmed with a Hot Button like the synchronised ventilation?
Thanks
Hey Adam, I believe you can if you go into the Climate control menu, there should be a option there to program the A/C button. For the new cars, its a push down on the rocker switch in order to do it, same rocker switch that has menu on top.
To get out of Max AC and revert back to previous settings is to press the Max AC button again. It'll put you in the last normal setting you were in. You can also lower the fan on MAx AC too, if you want it a bit calmer blow.
I have a 2017 BMW Mini Clubman. The big discovery for me was that, in addition to all the UA-cam vids about Mini's, I could also view those about BMW's. SO many features are identical between the two. They just have a different style. Re: the auto stop/start feature: I don't want it, don't like it. Which brings me to my second big discovery: the Bimmercode app! With that, I was able to completely remove any trace of auto stop/start. If desired, the feature can be brought back using the same app. I'm surprised that I haven't heard you mention it. The Bimmercode app.
Hey Joe! Thanks for mentioning that, you're right the bimmercode app is a must have these days with all this weird tech going around. I personally have not tried it but I try to refrain from using aftermarket features currently. Granted I personally would still use it though. Yes Mini, BMW, and even rolls Royce share some commonalities!
I particularly like he idea of programming the hot button for A/C sync. It's annoying they removed the hard sync button (used to have it in my 2017 540i, but it's gone now in last 2 BMWs). Curious for recommendations on other hot keys? What else do you have programmed?
Sure the main ones were the sync, weather app, the best ones were setting the cues to go to Apple CarPlay media, or Apple CarPlay maps.
@@BeamerView Thanks! Interesting about Carplay. I'm still on the fence which I like better: iDrive7 or Carplay. Both have their pros/cons.
@@jeffseltzer @JAS Agreed, I personally lean more towards Carplay, but that's just me. Also, thanks to your comment about the Hot Cues, I'm actually making a video with nearly 30 DIFFERENT Functions. Subscribe if you haven't already =)

I did a hard reset not knowing before there's a soft reset. Now my view map looks standard boring view. How do I go back to the other look I just described?
You may be referring to the Apple maps. Try connecting to apple carplay and use the apple maps located in there, which will bring up the same one you see on your phone.
very useful video. my most annoying thing was number 10 pop up.
Glad it helped!
Hey @beamerview so this is related to Remote start. I noticed that no matter what if I use the key of the app the heated steering wheel turns on, is there anyway to deactivate this when you remote start?
I have seen that as a glitch once but the first thing I would check would be inside your CLIMATE CONTROL MENU, there is a option there called climate control rules. I would check to see if that is set so that it turns on all by itself if the temperature falls below a certain degree. Try that first, if not I would also try making sure the heated wheel is off when you exit the vehicle.
Thank you for the video, very helpful!
Sometimes when on a phone call connected via Android Auto, as I turn off the car and try to walk away, the call will not disconnect from car. I need to manually disconnect Bluetooth on my phone and then walk away from the car. Is there an easier fix?
Yes, usually the system inside will stay on until you lock the car or turn off the system manually, the way you manually do it is by holding down the volume knob for 3 secs. Once you do that the phone should detach from the system and it should just play through the phone. Let me know if you've already tried this.
Great hack and tips here... Just follow your channel recently and watch a few of your videos. Can I check with you if there is any tips that the car will always be set at SPORT mode each time i step into the car? I have tried linking my key to the car, create Profile ID for it, but each time i step back to the car, it is default as comfort mode.
Hey Arthur, it's one of the most popular questions we get. BMW does not allow you have it set so that it begins in sport or eco mode. Not sure why they do this, but it's been like that forever! Hopefully they change it soon!
@@BeamerView Oh I see. I thought I may have messed up my setting.
i have a 2019 X5, is there a way to turn off speed volume adjustment? Every time the car slows down, the music goes really quiet or the song thins out with no bass.
I would check the tone/sound settings. Go into CAR SETTINGS > SETTINGS > GENERAL SETTINGS > Scroll down till you should see sound.
I think it is absolutely perfect that only the driver's door is unlocked at the first press and other doors if you press again.
If you are alone and have the car parked e.g. in a parking lot with a lot of shady individuals, it is quite nice that the only driver's door is unlocked, so that no one pulls open any of the doors on the other side and snatches a camera, bag or something else.
It is not such a big hassle to press twice if you are with the family to open their doors.
For the same reason, I have programmed so that the doors lock automatically when you start driving.
Yup. That’s a great point and I’m sure bmw has it programmed that way since it’s safer.
With a key it’s fine but I believe with comfort access being more of a standard feature it is a bit more of a hassle to grab the door handle twice.
@@BeamerView Or, you can just grab the rear doors' handles, and ALL the doors will be unlocked.
If you don't find any of the annoying features "annoying" then just skip his tip. People have to learn if they don't like something, change it and then a car jacker jumps in the passenger door that is now unlocked. That is for the owner to figure out, quit trying to educate people who don't care to figure it out themselves. Your point is good, but his point was if it is annoying to you, then "this" is how you change it. Let Darwin's theory work on those who don't care to stop and "think about their situation" before making any changes. People with kids and or a husband and wife might like the all doors open with one push of the button.
Hi, really like your videos. 2 things I would love to know. 1 - I use Android Auto in my 330e and it always defaults to play Spotify when it connects. I would rather it played what I had one when I last shut the car. Is that possible? 2 - when i start driving the car always starts in Hybrid mode. Can I set it to always start in Electric mode unless the battery is dead? thanks very much.
I’d try closing your Spotify app and checking to see if it has updates. Also try doing a hard reset on your phone and try the Idrive reset on the bmw console as well.
The vehicle will always start in hybrid. Many bmw cars also always start in comfort as well.
I have a 2023 330i xdrive and I went into individual sports settings and the start stop shut off feature does not appear to be there anymore. Any way to turn off start stop other than having to push the button every time?
Unfortunately not. For the new BMW's such as your 330i there is a good chance it does not give you the option to disable it. The only way you could bypass this is by being in sports mode like you mentioned, or drive the car in the D/S gear.
Is there any way to push a button and view different cameras on the screen? Sometimes I need a particular camera’s view when parking close to something and no fkn way to pull it up unless the car decides to show me that view on its own.
There is a way but it is quite tedious to get to it. When you're in the parking assistance screen where you see the top down view of your car and the rear view camera, there is a hidden tab to the left of the screen that you can slide over and that should get you to see "3D VIEW" and "car wash" select 3d View. You'll see your car in 3D, and now when you press the small lines going around your vehicle you can select which view you want. I think I may have demonstrated this in my 30+ Hidden Tricks Video.
Great video

Hey Ray, I do not believe you can change the viewing angle like you can in some brands of cars like hondas. You can try going into the settings button when the rearview camera is on and adjust a couple things like brightness, and the boxes and lines on the screen.
Thanks for the hints. Love my car but, I am sick of the lane departure.
Yeah worst feature imo. I will say they did it much better for vehicles with Idrive 8 it’s much less intrusive
Hi, great Video. I hve a bmw 3.30 (2019), and I dont know how to introduce a new address in the navigation system. can Tou help?? Many thanks man...

Great info, thanks! Out of curiosity, I have an X5, 2019 X40i, and when I slow down it does a pretty jerky/lurchy change down into 2nd/3rd with heavy engine braking, anyone else have that? I thought it was the transmission, but when I activate adaptive cruise, the car slows down to a stop much, much smoother. Any ideas?
Hey Ash, it’s definitely something I’d get checked out. I’d say the only time it’s feel jerky or aggressive is when you’re in sport mode. If you’re in comfort it should feel the same when it changes gears in adaptive.
@@BeamerView Thanks man, I appreciate the response, trip to the dealer for me!
Great video thanks. As the owner of a 2022 530i I am somewhat disappointed that the AC isn't colder than other cars. 72 set on auto doesn't do it and I hate to have to compensate by manually adjusting the fan speed. Another pet peeve is I wish the other dashboard colors for the main display were available for all settings meaning I love the color for the sport and eco settings but would like to have it available for the "comfort" setting. This isn't possible.
Agreed, it would be nice to change the color on the cluster. I do know the newer BMW's do give you an option to go into a simple mode for the cluster in the display settings. That also looks quite nice, but yes colors stay the same.
If you wanted the sports display on comfort mode. Select sport individual and change the engine trans and suspension to comfort.
@@BobBrown. I didn't realize this was possible. How do I configure this?

@@BeamerView yep correct.
Do you know how to turn off the front windshield vent in the top of dashboard? It's always hot here and it's fogging up my windshield every time I turn on the A/C
No real way to turn off that front vent manually. You could try adjusting your climate control directions by using the button that looks like a person with 3 lines going across. It's located on the climate control strip. The best way would be to just keep your climate on AUTO and leave the a/c button on at all times. Then you can just adjust the temperature to whatever you desire and the car will take care of the rest on where it should be blowing the air.
I keep watching these 'how to' videos hoping one will tell me if it's possible to adjust the default sound system volume. Every time I start my 2021 G20 I have to turn the volume up a bit as it's too quiet. :(
You shouldn't have to do that, I would get it brought in for a reflash. If there was anything there should be a sound setting option within the settings, or it may be under the word "tone"
Any ideas - The speed warning pops on when going BELOW the speed limit (ie 5 miles in a 25 taking off at light)
Yes if you go into CAR > SETTINGS > GENERAL SETTINGS > You should see speed warning there which you can disable.

How do I get my side mirrors to go back into my saved setting? After I get into my 2022 X5 after my wife have driven it the side mirrors don't go back into place with my fob until I hold down the number setting on the door.
Hey Perry, thanks for reaching out. The side mirrors and seat should go back to your profiles setting.
Couple things to make sure are done. Make sure your wife has her own key and her own profile set and used whenever she’s in the vehicle.
The profiles are set to each key and works the best when all the profiles are made and set.
If she’s operating with your key and your profile the car will think it’s still you in the car and even if she’s on guest it could cause confusion to the car.
Let me know if this helps in anyway.
I have the same behaviour with my 2022 model. I wonder if it's just the way they are?
With bikes on bike rack, backing up activates automatic braking. So use a special programming button to quickly check towing trailer to disable auto braking while backing.
That’s a very good one!!! Never thought of that. Thanks for sharing
Any idea how to make the buttons on the steering wheel to go through your preset radio stations instead of just a seek button for the radio?
Hey Stacey, try hitting the menu button on the steering wheel ( it looks like 3 lines in the multimedia part)
You might see a menu pop of fm am radio etc and I believe presets might be there as well.
Another way you could do it is go into the presets menu on the Idrive screen and once you select one station, hitting the seek button now should go to the next preset in the menu.

When you set up your driver profile, you want to keep only your key in the car so that it it'll link to your profile.
You're husbands profile cannot be guest, and would advise not using it since you could lose your settings. Seems like a glitch, I would try doing a idrive refresh by holding down the volume knob until the screen goes black. Then it'll reboot itself.
Is there a way to close all your windows at the same time using the key fob?
Yes. Depending on a few things.
Newer vehicles, you can hold down the lock button to do it.
For vehicles in the 2018-2017 range you can’t use the fob but if the vehicle has keyless entry, hold down the lock button on the door handle to close windows.

The only solution I found was to turn the car off and turn it back on. Sometimes this works sometimes it doesn’t. Any suggestions to do a refresh of the system while I’m driving?
Try the volume knob holding down. I do know the traffic jam feature is subscription based. Every 4 years. Also check the areas you’re in to see if it’s related to that?
Locking the car after you get out also turns everything inside the car off too. A little annoying when you park your car in the garage, no need to lock it when it's already secured. But I find it's easier to press the lock button after I'm out than hold down the volume button for 3 seconds before getting out.
You’re correct. Locking the car is easier. This is mainly for those that park in the garage, leaving it unlocked with the key left inside.

I have a 2022 430i and can't get the touchscreen to respond to my touch. Was it disengaged at the dealer or something? Can you help?
I do know that there was a point in 2022 that many screens did not come with touchscreens because of a part shortage. It could be that it was one of those. A good way to tell is if you're looking at your home screen you should see icons on the left side. The ones that had touch would show say for example a music note, and MEDIA written below it. The ones that do not have touch would just show the icons, not Media, Com, Nav, etc.
@@BeamerView Thanks, that explains why. Mine definitely only has the icons. Do you know if there’s a way of possibly getting those missing parts retrofitted to the car? I’m also missing the heads up display and wireless charging.
is there a way to set the FOB to open the drivers door with one push and the other three with a second push? Do not want all the doors to always unlock.
Yes. By default it should’ve came like that but may have gotten changed. Inside settings in doors and access or maybe key button settings.
It may be set to all doors right now but change that back to driver door.
Then what you’re describing should happen.
@@BeamerView set back, it is odd; I have to hit once and wait for the drivers door to unlock then press again and the other doors unlock. If I press twice it only unlocks the drivers door.
@@BeamerView one click for drivers, second click for front passenger, third for all would be nice - nothing but a program change.
When I change drive modes the color stays red, how do I turn that back on, so it does change colors? Also, by default when I start the car it connects to Andoid Auto and automatically pulls up Google maps and starts playing Spotify. I have to switch it to radio. Is there a way it can connect, but stay with the radio and cars nav? 20' 330i XDrive
There should be a way to have it change colors if you go into the displays setting tab. There you’ll see instrument cluster and the option should be there.
I do believe it should be designed so that it’ll play whatever it was last playing. If you feel that it’s not working properly I would believe that the system isn’t the greatest compatibility with android since that was one of the first years it was released.
for some reason whenever im in sports mode in my 45e the engine will cut off when on idle - how do i stop that? thanks
Not possible when in sport mode.
thanks@@BeamerView
How do we program the car to start in "Sport individual" mode every time we start the car?
Not possible unless you code it that way with aftermarket software. They say by law it has to start in the mode that shows the fuel economy on the window sticker hence why it'll always start in comfort mode only.
Can you set up the car so it does not automatically go to apple car play.
Hey Marvin, unfortunetly not. To my knowledge it'll go back to what you were using last. I'm sure you are aware that you can hit the HOME or MENU button on the controller to bring you back into the iDrive screen.
Good points on Apple Play and temp sync.
Thanks Rob, Reach out if you ever have any questions!
After receiving your information I reactivated Apple Car Play and can now make voice commanded cell calls. Thanks!
@@BeamerView Is it possible to get tach info on the HUD?
Is there a way to keep the exhaust damper button off?
One thing you could check for, most performance BMW have a “engine sound” setting in the general settings where you could have a sport sound while being in comfort. I’d highly recommend it
Can I program the vehicle to always start up on Sport Individual mode?
Yes you can, with bimmercode. Once you have the software in your phone and the obd connector, its very easy to code that and many more changes.
Unfortunately not. BMWs only start in comfort mode, has to do with laws. Since the vehicle has to start in the mode to get the fuel economy numbers that are advertised on the window sticker.
@@BeamerView thanks for the reply!
With bimercode its possible
no 2 is a safety feature, if your driving alone, you don't want all your doors open, pressing twice opens all doors, or you can set it in the idrive
True!
I have a 2005 bmw745i..and one of those little geometric boxes on the side of the center console..one of four when I pressed it accidentally it will not press off and I believe it drained my battery..I have only had car 2 months and have no manual...if you can help with turn off???
Hey Cheryl, thanks for reaching out. That is going to be more of a older vehicle hence certain things such as that will not function properly. The best bet would be to bring it to a local technician and have them take a look at it.
@BeamerView thank you..only had it 2 months..one thing after the other going wrong..praying Jesus helps me!!!!
@@cherylwilder7369 Good Luck. To be honest owning a BMW that old isn't recommended. Things are bound to go wrong and it can get very expensive. Personally speaking, if you're thinking about trading out of it for something else I would.
Not sure if someone has asked .. i have the 2024 x7 and every time i get home to check the mail or i put in park and open the door i get back in and my car is off. I never turned it off it just turns off. Is there a way to change that? Sometimes i just need to do a quick open of the door without it turning the car off
It is designed to do this as a safety feature, you can check your settings and in doors and access settings menu, there is a option there that you can check off saying, turn off vehicle when opening door. Try doing that. You can also press the gas while in park right before you exit the vehicle. If the engine is running it should not turn off the vehicle, but if it's in the auto/start stop mode with the engine off then it will fully turn off the car.
Hey so i drive a x5 45e and it keeps shutting down when i open the door is there any way i can turn off that
It's a very common question for hybrid vehicles!
There is one way. Right before you open the door, shift the gear shifter the M/S Mode and then to PARK.
That should make the engine turn on and then if you open the door it should keep the vehicle on.
When I drive I keep getting signals for driver's assistance restricted have you ever seen any problems like that?
Take a look at the front cameras. It might be dirty of it foggy?
I have a 2024 X5 and the android auto thing is still a problem ffs. I have to do the 30 second hold everytime i start the car because its only way it will connect
I've seen plenty of connection issues with the 24 X5, the new idrive 8.5 is still only a month or two old so there are tons of patches and fixes being made to it. I would give it some time, also try other phones to see if its phone related, but as time goes on it'll get better im sure.
How do i change my user name on the home screan?
It's actually harder than you think lol. In order to change that you HAVE to call BMW ASSIST. They may have long wait times but for security purposes that is going to be the only way.
Don't these people who comment below go thru each menu when the get the car. I've only had my 850i for 3 weeks and I knew all of the points highlighted in this video. It's all there in the menu's.
Everyone's different =)
the auto start and stop feature, when you stop at the traffic light the engine stop then you step on the gas or turn the steering it start the engine. how to disable it on the x4?
There should be an additional button near the Engine Start Stop button, it looks similar to a A with a circle around it. Press that, I will say for the new x4s you have to press the button every-time.
turning off popups is a good one.
Glad you think so!
Is there a way to get rid of the nag safety warning when you first turn the car on. Or make it go away automatically without having to click it?
Hey Adam, just tried looking into that. Unfortunately no way to do so at the moment.
I believe with US cars they do go away from what I’ve seen.
Every country has its own level of strictness when it comes to safety.
You can code that option using BimmerCode.
@@PauloFrazao Yes I did read about that. That may be the only solution atm.
@@BeamerView you can code it with BimmerCode I removed all the warnings and stuff on mine
@@RAMONEAuto Was it easy to do?
I’m just learning my X5 but can I listen to Sirius Satellite Radio while using Google maps?
Hey Jen! Thanks for reaching out. To my knowledge there is a way.
You can keep google maps running but, you have to download the Sirius app on your phone and use that for music in order to have both be available.
If you use the Sirius that’s built into the car it won’t work as you can only have one music source at one time (bmw source vs Apple CarPlay/android auto)
Thanks, how to stop ding ding door open chime?
Cannot disable that one unfortunately, you'd have to use a aftermarket device such as bimmercode to disable that.
@@BeamerView How to turn it on then? It has been stopped since mechanic changed front disk and break pad!
I used Bimmer Code to permanently turn off the Auto On/Off feature. Works for all modes except ECO. I also permanently turned off Engine Sound. I don’t want FAKE engine sounds piped into the car through the stereo system. I have a ‘21 M550i.
I have to learn how to use that! I'm currently working on a sponsor with Carly to educate the majority on how to use it. But yes, turning off the auto on / off would be the FIRST thing i'd do too.
@@BeamerView I was surprising simple. The hardest part was choosing an OBD scanner. Bimmer Code recommends scanners and I ultimately chose OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner for iPhone. After plugging in the scanner and connecting with Bimmer Code, it was a simple matter of walking through all of the options and changing the ones I wanted to change. I have to go back in at some point to see if they added new options for the interior accent lights. I'd really like to change the upper and lower colors to options opposite to what they allowed last time I looked. I did not try expert mode in Bimmer Code, I don't read German and they warn that making changes in Expert mode, without knowing what you are doing, can actually damage the car.
I can’t shazaam any songs if my phone is connected , it auto kills the music . Can that be disabled ?
Unfortunately, you can't shazam a song if it's playing from your phone at the same time. If you're trying to shazam the radio, you would have to disconnect Bluetooth or wifi, then shazam the song.
@@BeamerView well that’s dumb
Recently inherited a 2022 x3 30i xDrive. The “car OS” is the most frustrating thing I’ve ever experienced! I have to do the 30sec reboot EVERY time I start the vehicle. Worst iPhone connection (or lack of) ever. The phone will say it’s connected (hit or miss on if CarPlay sets up, or it’s Bluetooth only) but every time I receive a phone call, the call connects via hands free, but I cannot hear the caller, and they cannot hear me! My 2011-ish Pioneer head unit in my 2003 Saturn Vue is more reliable!
Sounds like problem. It should be that that bad only when there is a update with phone or car. I’d bring it in to get it re initiated by service.
@@BeamerView agreed, there has to be an issue. But, you know how it goes, I’ll bring it in and it won’t misbehave! Your videos have been very helpful to me having never owned a BMW, let alone one so new.
There is on more things when you drive the car you can’t lock the screen avoid the extra light or put the lock screen with wallpaper which Honda Accord Or Civic they have it . Which you feel more comfortable to drive in Night . And also on that screen you will just missing the navigation or others thing but the music will be on , call and massage will be come , every notification will be notified to the monitor . If you see on Honda after 2019 years accord or civic you will understand.
And if the same things we can do on the bmw 2021 330i please let me know .
330e G20, how to I keep the car on when exiting the car? It shuts off whenever I open the door. Even the option is unchecked, it still shuts down
Check out this forum.
I also recall hybrid vehicles doing that all the time. Some say blip the throttle before exiting. Also try exiting while you’re in sport.

My instrument cluster lights just stop coming on today out of nowhere, how do i fix that
Try holding down the volume knob for about 30 secs and then see if that works. If you think its a glitch and that trick didnt work I would bring it in to get it checked.

Hi can I have the BMW app on two different phones one for mi wife and one for me using the same account with two separate driver profile?
Hey Emmanuel, I would highly recommend having two separate accounts on the MY BMW App, and then creating the driver profile.
Each profile is made to be synced to the creditionals of each user with a MYBMW Account, this syncs things like the name, last name, etc.
the car keeps telling that the right seat is unblocked or something I have no idea what does that even mean can you please tell me what should I do thanks in advance
I've had that issues happen a couple times. Try messing around with the seating controls, and even the seats in the rear to see if it fixes it. Also try driving the vehicle around for a bit to see if it helps. If issues still persist, it's best to bring it in to get it checked.
Anyone else not like the backup camera still showing on my display after I went from reverse to Drive? Annoying when I have to look at the navigation and I have the backup camera screen staring at me. Please lmk if there is a fix!
Hey Meagan, it's designed to be that way. Many german cars do it. You would have to press the parking assistant button near the shifter to manually get rid of it or speed up to a fast enough speed. Add me on IG: Jus.Deee =)
