I am looking for a extra nice/ fancy glass dome for my and my husband's first communion little prayer books and Rosarys. I thinking that would be such a sweet way to display our childhood faith together! They have been in a drawer for 52 years now!
Hi, Linda. Yes, I will wear my jeans repeatedly during the week, so much so that my family jokes that my jeans will start walking themselves lol 😂. A personal thing that i do to keep them fresh is after day 1 of wearing them i will wear a panty liner for the other days i wear the same jeans. It definitely helps extend their shelf life for the week.
I use a fancy china gravy bowl with attached under plate to hold all my hair ties and hair clips on my bathroom vanity. My mom gave me these odd pieces of dish ware years ago and I finally decided to put some pieces to use and donate the rest. It’s a nice reminder of her.
Great ideas Linda! I use the hyacinth type vases for chex mix, nuts, candies and things of that sort. It's great because guests can pour the desired amount into their hand and it prevents the "digging" some people do in a bowl of treats. I use a vintage vase for toothbrushes in the medicine cabinet and a vintage planter on the bedside table to corral hand cream, pad of paper, pencil etc.
You can use crystal desert dishes or egg cups and fill with Easter eggs for the Easter table. One year I used small clear containers and put fresh tulips in each lined up down the table. Looks so nice.
I used crystal sherbet glasses at Christmas and put bottle trees in each one at each place setting and added a small cranberry wine goblet with a tea light in it at each place setting too. Looked really wonderful on my Christmas dining table.
I pickup beautiful vases, pitchers, trinket dishes, clear and colored glass. Been collecting milk glass vases to put on wedding tables with one flower and babies breath. I love repurposing. This week I found an old hand made basket, rather big that you can put cut flowers from the garden in. It is beautiful.
I repurposed some straight -sided chunky glass vases to fill with small shells collected during beach trips. I can enjoy looking at them all year, especially when there is snow on the ground. Another of my favorite repurposed items is a mini turquoise lidded Pyrex fridgie which I use on my dresser to contain hair clips. Definitely wear my jeans multiple times before washing! Thanks for all your videos!
I was so interested in the stainless dish rack that you showed us a few days ago. I ordered one today and will be delighted to get it next week. Thank you for sharing all these ideas!
My mother-in-law who is 90, has a teacup wooden display case hanging in her home and it is filled with beautiful teacups that I love to admire. The black rod iron candelabra has a very Restoration Hardware vibe to it, and I love how you will use it with the succulents. My husband and I live in the foothills of Boulder, CO and our boys live in downtown Denver too; they love living there😀. LOVE your plum colored blazer and yes, I do recognize the Marshall Fields brand. Wonderful video. I love thrifting and reusing all sorts of found items. I’ve been thrifting for years. Have a good weekend to you, your hubby and to Stewart.
I use multiple hyacinth vases for rooting various plants on my window sill. Makes a long, cold winter a little brighter! I also use small saucer plates, and/or tiny bowls as key & change holders at my homes entrances.
Loved that 2nd vessel (you talked of putting fresh drinking water in) I have a new love for those types of things, old "fancy" decanters and such , I fill them with water and place on the tray with my diffusers and current choice essential oils ! Makes refilling the diffuser each morning , so much easier and really elevates the look . Really enjoyed this! So many great ideas!
I save my glass OUI yogurt containers. Then wash, fill with kosher salt and rosemary from my huge bush in my front yard. It makes a great meat rub. Cover the top with a thrift square of fabric and tie with a ribbon and a label. This idea would work for any small thrifted glass with a cork.
I have 2 of those thrifted Downton Abby-esque pitchers in copper and glass with their original warmer holder thingies (chafing dish?). I think they were originally intended for coffee or tea, but I love the idea of using them for water with lemon or cucumber slices! 🥰
I bought an inexpensive set of diamond drill bits off of Amazon and use it to drill holes in tiny teacups or demitasse cups and fill with succulents or succulent cuttings. They fit nicely on my windowsill. I use the bits on pretty bowls as well as any ceramic pot that needs a hole for proper drainage.
I bought a really lovely pitcher and I have water in it to drink everyday in my apartment. I have also done the same at the house. The thing that makes me drink more water is this together with a beautiful special glass. Right now I have an old beautiful martini glass. I feel soo much better ( special) when I drink this way instead of an old waterbottle. 🥰
I really like these videos as much as the gardening ones- you're so creative, Linda! I love your sweet teacups..... I had a cute little teacup that I almost threw out and instead, I dropped a small plastic potted plant into it and it thrilled me!
Yes, I wear my jeans more than one day, as I find I change clothes a lot and I might only have them on 3 hrs at a time. I liked the tea cup idea, I have a sweet one with a girl on the side that belong to my mother in law and I guard it in a cabinet, but maybe I could actually use it!
This year for the first time, I will have a cutting garden, and I will be looking for inexpensive (cheap) containers so that I can give flowers to friends who don't have gardens or who have black thumbs.
I just love these thrift videos so many great ideas. I have that looks like a glass pitcher and It comes with its own stand and its a coffee warmer using a tea candle to keep it warm. Yes, I wear my jeans few more times before washed agan.
I have a pitcher like the pitcher you would like to use for water. It is made by Corning (mark is inside the neck). It came with a stand it sits on above a warming tray to hold a candle I guess. I used it on the table at a tea party.
Love all your shows Linda.!! I got at the thrift store 3 different drinking glasses.. And I got at one of the supermarkets 3 small orchid plants they were discounted.. Really inexpensive ones.. Then I also got a small garden planter made out of metal.. Painted in kind of beige color.. And I fit them in there I put them on top of an antique white painted table I got a few years ago.. This table is in front of of one of my windows.. Filled with all kinds of small plants and the orchids of course.!😊 Have a great day.!! Thank you for all your ideas.. Take care.❤
I sometimes wear my jeans two days in a row. Great ideas. You could also get some bags of wrapped Linden chocolates and put in the bowl or some other container for Valentines Day.
You always look well together and stylish I’m surprised you thrift some of your clothing. Never tried Poshmark but perhaps I will now. Thanks for all the great ideas. My favorite was the last iron piece your gifting your kids I would never have thought to put plants in place of tea lights great idea!!!
the little dome over the chocolates are actually candle cups that go into an iron chandelier type candelabra. the ends have iron circles that the cups sit in and sort of float over the tablle. I currently have 5 of them. they are gorgeous
Some very good ideas, Linda. I just can’t throw away glass jars. My daughter (who lives with me) on the other hand tosses every in recycle. I reuse my jars for all kinds of things. When I make almond butter…I want glass not plastic. I buy a lot of different grains and seeds….they go in my jars. I buy dried fruit….store in glass jars. Today I’m roasting red la rouge peppers and garlic….glass jar with olive oil. The ones that are straight up and down are especially useful. Oh for the good old days when everything came in glass! My daughter buys Oui yogurt in those small jars. Pity they don’t have a cover that’s reusable. I’m thinking they must be heat tempered glass and would make good votive candle holders. If not, a tea light with a little water in the bottom would keep it from cracking. Love those tonic bottles…..and all your little treasures.
Linda, I have similar bottles and I made herb infused olive, grapeseed oils and gave those away as gifts. They were a huge hit. Great garden inspired gifts.
Love the metal pitcher and glass pieces. Never thought of using them as gift vessels. Great idea! I also enjoy your clothing finds and tips and plan to visit a Goodwill near me. So entertaining and loaded with ideas! Thank you!
I love metallic urns. I like the stainless pitcher too. Your idea of granola being gifted the perfect idea. Subconsciously get some one on a healthy breakfast routine. Big Lots has a great selection of your favorite Epsom salts. I notice how much you enjoy your wreath. Hearts , shamrocks tucked in could extend your wreath for months. Your idea for a faux cloche, I’m going to use. Let’s hope Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow. Best wishes in your pre-gardening seasons. Keep the great hints and tips coming.
Your thrift stores are stellar! I also like using tea cups and such as soap dishes etc so cute and charming. Love the doctor teals in a canister idea, for a sick friend. Mulled wine too! Great ideas.
I love that glass pitcher; I thought of Marrakesh when I saw it! I think I would fill it with either a delicious lemon ginger iced tea or perhaps Sangria! I do tend to wear my jeans a couple of times over the weekend; I really like the cut-off look of yours!
I use my glass and silver pitchers for serving martinis or when we have guests we place one on a silver platter with ice water and lemon in their room. So many uses!
Hi Linda, I loved all you repurpose ideas!! I love the fact that you wear all your clothes! This is a problem I have.... I only wear dress clothes for when I want to look good and therefore, they hardly get used!! I usually wear junk clothes (rags actually) for cleaning and gardening. Therefore, they always get used!!! LOL! However, I am so inspired by you that I am actually changing! Who new! Love your videos! Have a great day and give my best to Stewart! :)
Some of the trendy clothes I see advertised rather resemble rags, as well! I have a photo of me sitting on Santa's lap all those years ago, and he tried to put his hand on my knee to hide that the knee of my pants had split open. Little did old Santa know that I was just a budding stylemaker ahead of my time!
Yes I do wear my jeans every day for a week. On a 7-10 day trip I can take 4 pairs of dark jeans or slacks and save packing room. So wish we had a Trader Joe’s in our town. Closest one is an hour away 😢.
I love all these ideas expecially the large vase on top of the wood saucer. I can see that with a vintage glass cabinet knob or ?? glued on the top. Have you ever had those mini orchids bloom again? They're so sweet, but I can't get them to bloom again. Thanks for the fun ideas.
The glass container is Princess House. It has a metal base it sits in that you can put a votive under the carafe to keep coffee warm. I also have a tray with mine that the carafe sits on and a hand blown sugar and creamer to sit next to it. I use to sell Princess house crystal in the early 90’s and still have quite a collection.
Linda, I have the second decanter with the silverplate. It goes with a beautifully styled silverplate basket stand with a shelf for a votive candle. I use it for hot teas, wassail, or hot lemonade. The set is very ornate with pretty legs on the stand.
Great creative ideas that everyone would enjoy receiving! I have a request for you outside the gardening realm which I love. Would you consider doing a makeup tutorial? We're about the same age, you always look so pulled together and beautiful, and I could use some tips!! Thank you in advance, I ordered the "Essence Lash Princess" mascara you recommended and LOVE it ❤️
😂 so totally loving that you threw hubs under the bus for his pricey fever tree bottles. Pro tip : the BEST tonic when it comes to taste, price, sugar, and salt is Seagrams. Just saying. Love you and all your vids.
Love your outfit. Necklace is beautiful. Small blue and white bowls I love to eat berries or ice cream out of them. I thrifted some berry bowls my cat drinks her water. Looks nice on the kitchen floor. The upside down vase use E6000 and glue a large marble for a handle or a crystal rock. Hyacinth container. One year I added fine gravel and small grape hyacinth bulbs inside and they were so delicate and pretty. I couldn't give them away. I seem to re-gift to myself. Thanks for video. Watch out for snow and ice next week it will be in DFW area starting Wednesday low 22, Thursday low 14 high 35 and rain. Donna
Yes I wear my jeans for days if I didn't spill something on them 🙃 I ordered your book and I wish I had it for tomorrow during the 18" of snow that is coming to CT. ❄️ Take care and I hope you're feeling better.
Costco has forced cherry branches for sale in SLC, Utah. Saw them today. Would be pretty with glass carafe that had silver collar/lid. May need to add river rocks as counterweight.
I found some beautiful MIkasa lead crystal vases at Goodwill cheap and felt like I found gold. Love putting flowers in them and that I could give them away with flowers and not have spent a fortune.
Definitely wear my jeans all week! Great ideas, thank you!!! We’re in Massachusetts, getting ready to hunker down for a nor’easter coming tomorrow! Dreaming of spring gardens! LOL. Diane
You go girl! Love your outfit (I wear similar but not low rise jeans!) & always interested in creative outlets of a gardener especially when it involves getting creative w/ thrifting! 🌻
I would bet that glass with a nobb at the top/bottom comes from a chandalier/lamp in metal. My parentes had one and you had a small block candle in each glass and sten there were holders in metal in the lamp to put them in. 😁
Tulip bulbs just peeking through the soil here in Salt Lake, zone 6B. It has been very cold since November, but this bed receives southern exposure when sun is out. Still not through April usually before night time temps warm enough for any annuals. Perhaps petunias ok..
Floral clay would adhere that potted orchid to the glass and then moss could be pressed around it--I wouldn't have thought of putting an orchid in a decorative glass, but I love the idea.
I have to say: The upside down vase as cloche is BRILLIANT !!!!!!
Your family must get such a kick out of you with all your projects and hobbies! They are lucky that you have such passion for life!
I am looking for a extra nice/ fancy glass dome for my and my husband's first communion little prayer books and Rosarys.
I thinking that would be such a sweet way to display our childhood faith together!
They have been in a drawer for 52 years now!

Those tonic bottles would be perfect for making homemade vanilla. So pretty and a great gift.

I bet!
I love those hyacinth vases. They are perfect little cut flower vases.
I have tons of those I use them for cut flowers all year

Definitely wear my jeans multiple times before washing! Thanks for all your videos!
My idea for the hyacinth jars is to put avocado seeds in them to root.
Excellent!!!
I have planted viola's in teacups and also in those old double glass egg cups.
I was so interested in the stainless dish rack that you showed us a few days ago. I ordered one today and will be delighted to get it next week.
Thank you for sharing all these ideas!

Beautiful ideas! Chocolate under glass? Yes please ❤️
Love all the small containers, tea cups, china cups. They are all so unique. Great ideas. Thanks
Yes
I use my old glass blender pitcher in the garden as a cloche in cold weather for herbs.
Love your hair cut and all the great ideas you gave us.
Thank you!
Love it!
You can also order covers for the OUI yogurt from their website.
Great idea! Qui sells inexpensive plastic lids you can order to fit their yogurt jars.
I've often thought to buy this yogurt for that exact reason but just haven't done it yet. Thanks for the reminder!
I have 2 of those thrifted Downton Abby-esque pitchers in copper and glass with their original warmer holder thingies (chafing dish?). I think they were originally intended for coffee or tea, but I love the idea of using them for water with lemon or cucumber slices! 🥰
You’re so clever I never thought about using the large glass vases/candle holders that way. I always learn something from you, thank you for sharing

Your thrift haul videos are some of my favorite😊
I always enjoy thrifting shop and turn great penny find into a dollar gift. Love this kind of videos. Thanks for the inspiration.
Yes , I where my jeans more than one time before washing. Ann
Love all your shows Linda.!! I got at the thrift store 3 different drinking glasses.. And I got at one of the supermarkets 3 small orchid plants they were discounted.. Really inexpensive ones.. I sometimes wear my jeans two days in a row. Great ideas. You could also get some bags of wrapped Linden chocolates and put in the bowl or some other container for Valentines Day.
Spiced nuts or conversation hearts for Valentine's Day would work well in those glass containers with a cork stopper.
Loving these thrift videos!🥰

Bells of Ireland would be amazing in that silver pitcher, mixed with flowers or alone. I buy them at Fresh Market.

We use those little Oui jars as small juice glasses. Once we remove the labels they hold up quite well and are adorable.
You could use the tonic bottles to hold different types of homemade oils or vinegars. Love these types of videos also
Looking sporty today Linda dear. Love the colors. Great ideas. Love the blue & white bowl. Looks so good with bright colors. Hello Stewart.
🙏🙏🙏
Love to use the hyacinth vases with roses from my garden, a matching ribbon around the neck. Your Steele pitcher was a great find🌹
Linda, I have similar bottles and I made herb infused olive, grapeseed oils and gave those away as gifts. They were a huge hit. Great garden inspired gifts.
Love that!

I loved your ideas, especially the tea cups and saucers because I have several from my mom and my husbands mom. Now I can put them to good use.
Your thrift stores are stellar!
I also like using tea cups and such as soap dishes etc so cute and charming.

Love wearing the same yoga pants for a weekend filled with gardening activities.
I’m addicted to antique and used stores now
Oh no🤣😂🤣

You are amazing. Thanks so much for all you share. Cheers from a snow covered Canada!
Stay warm!!!
Love your styles and ideas. I've been a thrifter my whole life. Hugs from Montana
Wonderful ideas for inspiration! Thank you .
LOVE! Your ideas are the best.
Lots of good ideas Linda. Your hair looks really cute today.
I love all these ideas expecially the large vase on top of the wood saucer. I can see that with a vintage glass cabinet knob or ?? glued on the top. Have you ever had those mini orchids bloom again? They're so sweet, but I can't get them to bloom again. Thanks for the fun ideas.
I get them to bloom again. It isn’t right away but they will bloom again.
Love your thrifting videos Linda
Oh, I love that glass & silver pitcher! Our thrift stores just don't have beautiful items like that! Great ideas...I love these thrifting videos!
I have 2 of those glass and silver pitchers from my wedding in the early 70’s tucked away in a cabinet somewhere 😉
I find things more often in consignment stores than thrift stores in our area. I most often leave thrift stores empty handed.
what great items... I can so see those tonic bottles lined up on your palladium window seal with different oils and vinegars and herbs
How interesting!
Another great video….i love these idea videos.
I had that pitcher and silly me I gave it to the Good Will store big mistake ❤️ I’m clumsy too. Yes I wear my jeans all week before I wash them. 👍
👍😊
I use fancy mason jars, the smaller ones for all my medicine cabinet things. 😊
Linda, I have the second decanter with the silverplate. It goes with a beautifully styled silverplate basket stand with a shelf for a votive candle. I use it for hot teas, wassail, or hot lemonade. The set is very ornate with pretty legs on the stand.
Great ideas!! Thank you!
Great creative ideas that everyone would enjoy receiving! I have a request for you outside the gardening realm which I love. Would you consider doing a makeup tutorial? We're about the same age, you always look so pulled together and beautiful, and I could use some tips!! Thank you in advance, I ordered the "Essence Lash Princess" mascara you recommended and LOVE it ❤️
I will!
😂 so totally loving that you threw hubs under the bus for his pricey fever tree bottles. Pro tip : the BEST tonic when it comes to taste, price, sugar, and salt is Seagrams. Just saying. Love you and all your vids.
Please wish your friend Jenny, the bead lady,a happy Valentine’s Day for me,ok?🥰
Very nicely put together today, Linda !( As always ! )
Your first item - tea plant topiary. Teacups filled with a plant or succulent.
Adorbs
Beautiful ideas! Tfs

Great ideas, Linda. Going right now to get a large jar out of my recycle. :)

Thanks for the great tips! If you ever need different sized corks, you can buy an assorted bag at Hobby Lobby or Amazon.
Thanks!
I found some beautiful MIkasa lead crystal vases at Goodwill cheap and felt like I found gold. Love putting flowers in them and that I could give them away with flowers and not have spent a fortune.
Yup!
Definitely wear my jeans all week! Great ideas, thank you!!! We’re in Massachusetts, getting ready to hunker down for a nor’easter coming tomorrow! Dreaming of spring gardens! LOL. Diane
