Mick Fleetwood has often called John McVie an orchestra unto himself. Here is a perfect example as to why. Such great counterpoint and underpinning of the rhythm. John is an amazingly underrated bass player.
This is soooo cool it is no wonder Lindsey has been called the greatest guitar player in the world!!!! I was born in 62 in Costa Mesa California and grew up with this song, it has and always will be one of the greatest song's ever written! Lindsey is a master...and nobody has ever come close to the guitar of his style and never will!...
You do have the most amazing collection. This stuff is priceless. THANKS for sharing. This is Go Your Own Way being born right before our very ears. Very cool.
Thanks so much, Carol!! I REALLY appreciate your kind words. This one took a few days to complete, but it was well worth it!! I'm VERY pleased with how well it turned out!! (:
I agree, Mick's drumming is great on this song. (I think he's the best drummer ever.) However, Lindsey's huge stamp (his lyrics, vocals, guitar, arrangement, etc...) on this song is the main reason that this song is so AWESOME. (:
or how much bands now need to practice more! watching some live performances of this song and how everyone is hitting everything hard and spot on and even better than the studio recording is what makes them so good!
and Lindz played soccer with me at least 3-4 times a week when I was a wee punk of ,like 9-10 in Frisco...still at work J thanx ---still had a few mins. for your beautiful editing work, time care and heartfelt input. J ?
It is amazing that you got this recording, in the first place... The pics. and video are just a bonus! Thank you for this! This is one of my favorite songs too, tied with Run Like Hell, and Comfortably Numb... Rock On!!
We've all gotten so used to seeing bands like Fleetwood Mac turn out great performances that we sort of assume they can perform like that without much trying. This video reminds us of the effort that even the best musicians in the world put forth to achieve what they do. And I think that makes them even more special. Thank you! It also lets us gaze once again at the young Stevie Nicks. Thanks even more for that :)
I love this kind of behind the scenes stuff...I have alot of rare stuff from my fave band The Beach Boys, and Lindsey was influenced by Brian Wilson...they both know how to build a song!! I want to hear more...when is part 2 and 3 coming? Thanks for posting!
Who need drugs when you have stuff like this! thank you very much for sharing!! Being a musician myself it's VERY interesting for me to listen to how the song progressed through the sound clip.
It is Lindsey's song and his guitar work and vocals are fantastic, but I do believe Fleetwoods drumming has a lot to do with the greatness of this song.
this is my fave by Fleetwood Mac...i always sing it at karaoke. i have a rule now that i have to christen any karaoke bar that i happen to be in with it the first time i go to that bar.
Oh I see, in the beginning he is showing the guitarist they’re going on tour with how to play the acoustic part. Since he is the only guitarist in FM they need another one to do songs with multiple guitar parts, I’m just surprised they didn’t use him for the chain Edit: someone in the comments said the person who plays backup on the tours is Ray Lindsey, the guitar tech
Amazing! This kind of stuff is worth its weight in gold....but I kinda doubt Lindsey would dig it getting out like this. It's pretty raw......but that's the true beauty of it. Where the heck did you get this?
This is great! I hope you didn't get a no stalking order against you to get this! LOL Really though, did you pretend to be a maid at his house or something? This doesn't seem like something they would put out on purpose.
haysfordays his guitar tech, Ray Lindsey. He always played the acoustic on this song when they were touring, you can see him on stage with Lindsey during the Mirage concert.
Lindsey Buckingham = genius musician and human being.
Lindsey❤

This isn't a tour rehearsal, this is pre production writing for the album.

Amazing! This kind of stuff is worth its weight in gold....but I kinda doubt Lindsey would dig it getting out like this. It's pretty raw......but that's the true beauty of it. Where the heck did you get this?
How ,and more importantly, where, do you find this stuff?
👏

I hope you didn't get a no stalking order against you to get this! LOL
Really though, did you pretend to be a maid at his house or something? This doesn't seem like something they would put out on purpose.
