I agree. They were in a position of trust. They had all the information about what the kids had already been through. They were getting paid to "care" for them. It's not like a random acquaintance abused them. And he pleaded guilty to abusing nine kids, how many more did they "care" for over the years. Despicable.

I cant type what I really want to type right now, or I'd lose my youtube account surely. 😕 this was my concern from the beginning, I am not going to lie I watched this case unfold as a young adult myself. These kids now adults need to sue every government agency that subjected them to that, and then some.😢 Justice must bend for these kids and every kid that endures foster or familial abuse!

Juat my take on it-- The justice systems are overrun and the DAs make prosecuting a game of plea deals to make it work with their time and money. Petty criminals aren't getting charged or having them dropped because of this systemic problem. B8g cases like this cost millions to undergo, so the DA hands out please deals. Prisons and jails are overrun. We need to focus on this issue to get it fixed if we want real Justice!

I’m just hearing about this now. Insane! You’d think with a high profile case and the children being so traumatized, they’d have vetted the foster parents more thoroughly. Some are just in it for the money, and the government should know that, but apparently they’ll just give children to anyone who volunteers. I hope the children are all somewhere safe and are healing.
HOW ON EARTH DOES THIS HAPPEN??!!!! What kind of vetting happens for potential Foster Parents in California?! And why would you not be EXTRA CAREFUL where you place these traumatized children and then MONITOR THEM CLOSELY. Some people who work for California Child Protective services should also be on trial.
Curious how we’re always okay with “justice” for foster kids… as opposed to protection. None of this is new but we haven’t done anything to change things.

So, the women who abused the kids received probation aka no jail for child cruelty and imprisonment. WOW! Our justice system is really on point....said no victim!

The horror of the foster system. I know they can't possibly know everything that is going. But don't they at least interview the children, apart from their foster family? I'm aware the Turpin children lived in a household with 2 parents, insane ones at that. What must it be like to actually not want your own child due to an unplanned pregnancy or maybe a ra*e. I would imagine that child would be neglected/ abused and maybe adopted out or placed in a foster home. We always hear those stories of children who run away, sell themselves, or are trafficked, become chemically dependent and have mental issues. Many of the people who are homeless came from these environments. Awful

7 years was a slap on the wrist. These foster parents abused the trust placed in them to provide safety for children who had already experienced unimaginable abuse. They deserve to do much longer time in prison! AND then add sexual abuse?! Despicable!!
How did the system fail these children so horribly? 7 years? 4 years in probation? This is NOT justice. The foster care agency needs to be shut down and the county needs to take responsibility. Taxes go to pay for these services to help children and this is what happens? Such a horrific story.

LOL all these state workers in California get paid hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. These kids even had THEIR OWN FUND with millions. It was supposed to be used for them and their life; however the woman in charge spent it on herself. Bought a nice benz, a home, went on vacation, luxury goods. True story.
Why are they allowed so many kids. Why is the justice system so flawed. I pray, we should pray they are one day loved and the lasting effects are minimal.

The only thing that gives me comfort is that these people got sentenced in the state of California. The CDC has some pretty brutal prison politics and those monsters won't be for long to this world once they enter the facilities. Inmates don't want to house with sex offenders or child abusers.
