    I read that besides money for counseling, Sheri and her husband had a GoFundMe account of $50,000 that they were awarded from concerned citizens, which they used to pay off their credit cards. Despicable.

    This makes me so pissed. I remember being listening to the news when she disappeared and was so relieved when she returned. I knew people thought it was a hoax from the beginning but I was SO sure it was real. I mean who turns up branded, beaten, and with obvious weight loss and hasn’t had something horrible happen. I know it doesn’t really affect me but I feel betrayed! She took resources away from REAL victims and wasted everyone’s time, for what?!

    • @aarondavis8943
      @aarondavis8943 2 роки тому +62

      I mean...she'd already hoaxed in the past. That's a pretty huge warning sign right there. Plus every other aspect didn't match with any previous cases; like everything was strange, from the motive (none) of the "kidnappers", the fact they were both women (extremely rare to unheard-of) they fact that they let her go, the lack of transparency etc etc. The police were very coy and seemed uninterested in catching the culprits and barely gave updates or asked much for the tips from the public.
      And I must say, people, including those who doubted her story, behaved with restraint, or at least the people in the forums I encountered. So there's that to be hopeful of, I guess.

    I usually agree with you Dr. Grande but not this time. Theft by deception is a crime that warrants jail time in my opinion. So many people have gone to jail for defrauding tax payers and or the government for a lot less money than she did. The money she received from the victim fund could have gone to actual victims. She deserves jail time IMO.

      Yeah, it's really frustrating to hear that somebody should not suffer the consequences of their actions because they have a mental disorder and "need help." Almost all the people in jail now could qualify for this. I think the most effective remedy for her issues would be to suffer the consequences. Remember, she did all kinds of shit to her family and they let her off every time. Prison is supposed to be punishment. He says "the world is not safer" with her behind bars, but that would apply to all people who commit nonviolent crimes. She can get counseling in prison, as far as I am concerned.

    • @LDiamondz
      @LDiamondz 2 роки тому +38

    She planned the whole thing.. She knew exactly what she was doing. She also took money that was meant for real victims, after the fact. She should have to pay that back and pay for the cost of the entire investigation. This was a crime. Just like any other crime. She should have to serve some time in jail for it. It wasn't the first time she's committed a crime. Her personality disorder, if she has one, shouldn't be a reason to go easy on her. A fair trial, or a plea, whatever the courts decide, is fine.

      Starting malicious witch hunts after latinas, which at best is harassment and at worst imprisoning innocent women, is hardly non violent. Lying to other men that her husband 'was abusing her', is atrocious and could have ruined his life, had his kids taken away and cost him financially for years. Sherri is kind of a huge monster, and if she gets her just deserts over being found out for the ugly fraud that she is, it won't be still won't make up for the suffering she causes everyone around her.

I wouldn't be surprised if she had tried to enlist him into some plot against them, like she had intended to blame her condition on her husband. I think many people are not getting the big picture here. She has a severe periodic condition of Child Regression. All her odd behavior patterns indicates it's Child Regression. That's when a grown adult's mind transforms into the mind of a child when they are suddenly conflicted with real life situations. In her case, she turns into a 5 year old. The lies, the deception, the need for attention at any cost, the colorful stories, that's a 5 year old. You mentioned you think she wanted to run away with her ex. I highly doubt that. That was her just having her 5 year old moments. There's definitely a lot going here. And it all starts back to when she was born. Possible child abuse when she was a child. Also, her tossing two mexican women into her fake story angered a lot of people. I think that was just her quickly looking for scapegoats to add to her made up story, still racist, but unintentionally racist. She was just looking for scapegoats.

    This happened in my community. We were horrified and frightened that something like this could occur in our community. I-5 runs through the center of our county, and our thoughts were of human trafficking. So many gave their time to search for her. The law enforcement that Dedicated many man hours in all this took precious time and money away from other cases. The entire community wanted answers. As time went on things didn't add up and it was noticeable what was not being said by the sheriff, etc. People that knew her history began to speak up and become more vocal about what kind of person they believed her to be. My kids went to school with both her and her husband. The overwhelming majority believe her husband to be innocent and not complicit in any way. There were expenses incurred in searching for his wife, and those expenses were allowed to be covered by the funds provided. As a community, we are hurt and angry for what she did. However, most have compassion for what she has put her family through. She needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

    I’ve never heard of this before (Victim Narcissism). I wish I could find more info on it. This is my mother to the T. And I was the target of her abuse. She could appear wonderful to others and made me out to be a terrible person since I was a child. Once I moved far away, she eventually had to find a new target, and she did. It’s wonderful to have a sort of explanation for it. Thank you.

She runs that relationship with her husband. She stayed with her husband and had second thoughts and tried to return in the most believable way possible (in her opinion). The money was a bonus.
      The ex is also complicit. I'm in the Midwest and I heard about this case when it happened. He certainly did, too. He let her stay there, knowing she was missing and all over the news, allowed her to hurt herself, branded herself in his presence. He's fortunate that she didn't somehow blame him for kidnapping her. If she had somehow gotten rid of the phones to prove it otherwise, she'd probably be believed.

    Living in the same small community where this happened has been an eye opener. Most of the gossip initially was about how her husband was responsible for her disappearance and now is about her husband being a part of this plan of hers from the beginning and has benefited from the exposure by receiving money from a go fund me account where he purchased a new truck with the funds. Not sure if it’s her playing victim to everyone all of her life but she still is being portrayed as a victim of her husband’s aggressive behavior and it’s really overshadowed the truth. I’m definitely not playing doctor but I’m thinking she has a severe personality disorder and she has most everyone believing her lies and is in a constant state of denial. Maybe sitting in jail for awhile before she gets catered too for being a victim might be beneficial.
