i just wanted to say thank you. i've been following you for a while (about 1 year) and i'm rewatching your videos whenever. in two days i'm 7 months on t. and it's such a relief to relate to your journey. before i was on t you really made me hopeful sometimes, and i'm so greatful for that. one of the things you said that i relate to is that you just start developing as a person, like who do i wanna be. each day i get slightly more secure and calm in myself. it's weird not being super uncomfortable all the time.
you are awesome. so kind and helpful. i wish you the best, you deserve to be happy with the results and stuff, after everything you've done. really inspiring. looking forward to keep following you.
I usually avoid watching the 1-year transition videos, but I was happy to watch your month-to-month documenting of your transition. From watching your videos and seeing where your voice deepened to lower than mine, I was able to figure out the amount of pre-natal testosterone I was exposed to which kicked in limited ways during adolescence. In adolescence my regular speaking voice fell down to about 109 Hz. In my 20s by changing the resonance I was able to get it down to 65 Hz. By growling/rasping, I can get it down to 43 Hz. For years that was the main thing that pre-natal exposure to androgens did for me. And the masculinization of my voice was in a weird way. My lower register is weak and soft, whereas my middle and higher registers are piercing and makes the "buzzy" sound that comes from thickened vocal chords.
So having figured out that I was exposed pre-natally to the equivalent of 7 months of testosterone and yet having had chronic difficulties in growing muscle, and having a range that extends into baritone/high bass but it's soft and weak, I don't think that going on a regimen of testosterone will change my tenor into a baritone. I'm glad to find out though, that even if my estrogen is probably pretty high, that pre-natally I got a lot of androgens. I also feel less bad for being hesitant to seek hormone treatments. For the longest time I was dysphoric about my voice because it seemed high, but I was judging it by the standards of baritones and basses. So once I learned to use my mid and higher registers as a tenor, my dysphoria lessened considerably.
Obviously, I understand why soprano and alto guys go on a testosterone regimen. But there's at least one tenor guy who went on a normal testosterone regimen and he had so much testosterone it aromatized into estrogen. Clearly, testosterone regimens shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all approach. I'm glad that it has worked wonders for you and it's great to see your journey in growing into a happy man.

I cant believe its already been seven months. I remember watching your videos when you were still pre-T and I wasnt even out yet and it felt like i would never even get close to starting T and now you are already 7 months on T and i have my endocrinologists appointment on thursday so hopfully im gonna be on T soon, too. Time just flies so fast.
