Hey buddy - ignore the replies on this, they’re not worth reading - but I just wanted to tell you a short story: A while ago, I met a little old lady who had lived through the Aids crisis, several Wars, used to run marathons and now lives life in a wheelchair due to a Bone Impairment. She had lived the first decades of her life Identifying as an effeminate Gay Man, then transitioned in her Late 70s/Early 80s. At the time of meeting her, she had only been out for a year (compared to my own timeline, I have been out for almost 5 years, starting age 20). These days, she said that she lives happier than she ever was, despite what she went through in her past - and since Gay marriage is now legal in our country, she’s finally married to her partner, who is another Elder Queer that Identifies as NonBinary. Life is whatever you make it, and of course it is never too late to do or become anything that you want to be, so long as you are willing to work hard for it. Stay strong, stay safe, and take care of yourself out there - and here’s to your journey being smooth while transitioning 🤟
My best friend told me last week that they are changing their name, pronouns and are looking into testosterone. I want very much to be better at change when it has nothing to do with me, but change is never easy for me. I'm really hoping that I can figure out how to be helpful and show my best friend how much I care and want the best for them. But in the mean time can I thank you for this channel and all of the education you provide. Young kids are not taking hormones or getting surgery (and anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is spreading false information). Think about it: a prepubescent child wouldn't have breasts to surgically remove, and no one is going to give a child breast implants either. As for genital surgery, those are not performed until the person is at least the age of consent (which ranges between 16-21 depending on where they live).
