    Lisens Standard UA-cam-lisens Jokke Sommer is a true thrillseeker mostly known for airy flights and fearless lifestyle. Looking back, he has always been fascinated by everything that could fly and dreamed one day to fly himself. When he matured, his childhood dream faded and he started a career in Motocross. This sport became his biggest passion and an important part of his youth. After several years of riding, he started to Freestyle and built his own Freestyle Motocross park where he and his friends met to ride and fly. At the age of 21 he and his close friend Jørgen decided, to start skydiving and they completed an Acellerated Free Fall skydiving course. He sold his dirt bikes and became a licensed skydiver. To gain the required experience he travelled to the United States and completed 250 jumps in two months. After watching dozens of Wingsuit flying videos, he had no doubt, this was what he also wanted to do! His non-jumping spare time was spent researching BASE Jumping. After returning to Norway he signed up for a BASE jumping course and travelled to Kjerag to make his first jump. Starting to BASE jump changed his life and his determination made him an expert athlete in the sport.

    You must understand fear so you can manipulate it. Fear is like fire. You can make it work for you: it can warm you in the winter, cook your food when you’re hungry, give you light when you are in the dark, and produce energy. Let it go out of control and it can hurt you, even kill you….Fear is a friend of exceptional people. Legendary boxing trainer Cus D'Amato on fear.

    Rooseveld once said: "The only thing to fear is fear itself" but I don't agree. There's 2 types of fear: The first is the fear that keeps you alive. It's actually quite sensible so that fear is your friend. The other fear keeps you from living. That one is your enemy and it is not to be feared but to be confronted.

    A lot of people ask me are you not afraid of dying and am like you know what, am terrified of not living. so strong
    impression
    The greater fear is not dying or facing that challenge. what you should fear is not living, not releasing your potential, becoming your authentic self. die empty and don't die with your potentials.🙏♥️

    They will talk about a lot of things, those adrenaline junkies. What they never mention is how depressed and down they get once they have come down emotionally from a jump.
    It's an addiction. Adrenaline addiction. And it is a disease, just like any other addiction.
    Don't be fooled by those base jumpers, kids. Even the absolute very best of them die, too.

    • @dacoup5955
      @dacoup5955 Рік тому

      Really because i didn't hear him say anything about him being depressed after a jump?... Any activity that pumps even a bit of serotonin into your life can essentially be considered an addiction which would encompass practically everything that brings us joy such as listening to music, watching TV, hanging out with the people you love and eating your favorite foods ... I think your making the mistake of confusing passion with addiction and its only because of the inherent risk that comes with that activity that is hard for you to wrap your head around, and if it where really that simple anyone who's ever rode a roller coaster would be powerless to resist another ride but not everyone wants to get back on after they're done.
      Athletes put their bodies and their health on the line every day to involve themselves in something that drives them in life the only difference is in this sport, it can take more than what most people are willing to put up for grabs, to boil it down to a simple addiction would mean he's powerless to control his urge to jump but Jokke has stepped away from plenty of exit points in his career that he didn't feel comfortable with, there's a ton of planning and heaps of training involved in this activity to even get to this point which is never shown in his flights, he's a professional who's dedicated his life to his craft and should be looked at no different than a professional driver or boxer who also find themselves in probable fatal situations when pushing the limits, quite frankly people have lost their lives over menial tasks such as driving to a job they hate ... now that is truly saddening.

    • @Lessismore786

      Oezguer Alkan feeling lonely is not a physical thing. It starts with a hobby and the becomes a lifestyle regardless of changed life circumstance for many, not hard to let go

    • @LazyLeftEye1
      @LazyLeftEye1 6 років тому +1

      pschycic flypaper I'm refeering to your statement: because you are lonely and want attention. It still makes no sense. There are people also starting with this AFTER having a family.
      For my part, i will start this, ok have no family (wife and children) but i really give a damn about attention. I just do it, because i want to. I felt better in those minutes in the air, than anything else i did. It is like finding something i really like to do, aslong as i am comfortable with.

    • @Lessismore786
      @Lessismore786 6 років тому +1

      Oezguer Alkan there are better to get more fulfilled feelings and feel totally alive than few moments of risking of risking your life. Ask your yourself why do you like this and why it makes you feel free? In my opinion, people try to find themselves in achieving anything in life and try to fill that avoid by accomplishing goals, and feel that peace by a strong sense of accomplishment. Risking your life, for just a one time feeling seems overkill.

    • @LazyLeftEye1
      @LazyLeftEye1 6 років тому +5

      pschycic flypaper why you decide there are better things? For you? For everybody?
      How I actually think? What have I actually lived?
      I questioned myself a lot what I want in life, what I get from actions taken. Driving a motorbike gives me peace, i like the wind sound. Flying gives me freedom. Nothing matter, just me, the air, the moment. I have a job, where i travell the world. I see cultures, people, landscapes but it's nothing I live for.
      It's a little bit to high on a horse, to tell somebody "there are better ways", if you can not actually put yourself in another humans life.
