  • Champion skydiver Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld is one of the most experienced competitors and coaches in the history of Formation Skydiving. He made his first skydive in 1980 and has made more than 15,000 career jumps to date.
He has been a role model for every competitor, no matter what their level. He motivates and encourages skydivers to build teams and experience the same excitement and challenges that he himself has been through.
His book "Above all else" was published last month.
    Why listen to him?
In 1992, Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld was in a plane crash that killed 15 of his fellow skydivers and left him in a coma for 6 weeks with life-threatening injuries. With his broken neck caged in a halo brace, he planned the most astounding comeback.
Dan is now a six-time World Champion and coaches teams around the world. His story underlines the power of the human spirit and its ability to overcome seemingly impossible odds.

Hearing Dan's story is amazing. Having the pleasure to know the man, and as a new skydiver to take his advice and learn from a legend, is truly as honor.

Had a very similar experience. Asked him for a gear check, not knowing what an absolute legend he was.

Dan i knew of your accident through a buddie from gananoque. He told me he was on the ground that horrible day in parris. I know you don't remember me, but we did 2 way rel work jump at eloy in about 2001. I always remember your precision speed and world class skill in freefall you had. however, the thing you remember more so was your world class attitude. All of the people I did jumps with from airspeed were great, but your attitude stood above the rest. I even filmed few jumps u organized. Ty.

Your TED talk just hit me between the eyes. The "flying without wings" that gets tapped into when one is living one's dream ... The wheels are really turning inside my head and heart right now. I recognize this moment as a game changer. How often does that happen? Do "I" have the courage to Leap? Can I live my life successfully or with fulfillment -- having not? It's personal decision time!
Dan -- Bless your heart -- From this moment forward -- I will -- make good use of this gift.”

Never knew this existed Dan. Delighted to find it. Your enthusiasm, narration of your inner monologue and systematic description of process sells it. The crash experience was extraordinary and so very close. I was riveted to your intimate description. Thank you for giving me that connection to a turning point for any skydiver who had friends on the load. We will always know where were when we heard the news. The applause was well earned. You are an example for all of us. Bravo Dude!

Wonderful thank you for the amazing story of your successes. I'm about to go skydiving on Saturday for my first time on my 29th birthday. It has been a dream forever. To fly atleast. My spirit animal is a bird. Thank you for your strength and perseverance. It is truly motivating and to me skydiving is already my favorite thing and I haven't even been yet. It is the start of many goals and aspirations I am now beginning to accomplish.
    Thank you again. God Bless

Every skydiving I know is an engineer, lawyer, police officer, ex military, or a doctor. Get skills that pay well then you go from there

Dedication. If you want it bad enough you will make it work. I’ve seen guys that it has taken over a year paying as they go.

You don't have to be rich to skydive... You just have to be happy to be broke all the time.
