- Corn Plant in Flower? Yes, it is not uncommon for Draceana fragrans to bloom. Fragrans is the science name for a good reason. The big plant in this video has bloomed for many years! Corn plants with golden variegation are the cultivar ‘Massangeana’. These are super great houseplants with very few problems. If your water has a lot of chlorine you may find the leaf tips get scorched.

I've only had one dracaena fragrans flower, but it was a pleasant experience. I was hoping for more of them to flower. Oh well, at least I've experienced it once.
Thanks. We have had a corn plant for over 15 years and we kept on smelling this fragrance in her house. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Our corn plant is blossoming a very fragrant flower.

What’s do you do w the blooms? Harvest the seeds?
If the leaf stalk fall off from the head, will the node head regrow new leaves again?
Hello everyone I was wondering if at 2:35 as she's talking about air layering, can I just cut the stem and propagate it in water instead of air layering?
So mine has flowered. what do I do with flowered part after all the flowers die? Do you trim it off?
that's means so lucky coz that flower seldom'
The fluoride is killing the tips on that one she cut - they don’t like tap water and it’s my understanding that it’s the fluoride not the chlorine. You’re telling me someone with the Univ of Maryland doesn’t know or doesn’t know who to get in contact with to tell her???
What fertilizer to use to make them bloom.
I used Naruko, it's a Bonsai fertiliser. It's only just started to flower (in Feb) and I can't smell anything yet... Mine is 3 years old now and sat in a full length, West facing window 👍
What is a perfect soil mix?
Mine has flowered with just cheap potting compost, tap water and fertilised with Naruko Bonsai fertiliser. The plant is in a west facing, full length window.
