I just bought my second one after waiting two years two days ago. It was definitely the tap water.
I then thought it was the light and put in direct sun light out side to save it. All the leaves turned yellow, brown and died. I throw it away.
    This one SHALL LIVE lol

Mine was gifted in October of 2023, and it's the exact same size as it was when it was gifted to me. I am puzzled, because it has practically remained dormant for 8 months. I have placed it on the balcony at night for humidity, and used Miracle Gro diluted with distilled water, but nothing. I guess its better than being dead.

I got one for free at the grocery store about a month ago, (March) because she said it was old, so i took it home but i didn't know. how to take care of it. So i put it in front of my living room window that has sunlight in the morning and early afternoon, then high shade the rest of the day and I only water it every two weeks. So far its doing well, but i decided to go online snd see how to care for it and luckily I have been doing what it neefs.

I just got one in November that was outside primarily. It was a throwaway. It’s responded really well to being indoors tho. And the cold temperatures make sense for the leaves. I mist mine everyday and it’s still getting brown tips on the older leaves. Besides that, the new leaves are bigger and thicker. So I’m hoping that it continues to grow big and healthy.

Hi thanks for this! My dracaena just had a trauma and had all its leaves burnt dry… should I cut the whole head off and let the stem grow new leaves and try to propagate the head? Or should I leave it be and see if it recover by itself? Thanks!

I over watered my Dracaena Fragrans and the stalks if leaves dropped out from the nodes head. Is there any chance for the new leaves to grow back on the heads ?

A lot of people's corn plants look like they only have maybe five leaves at the top of the stem are you supposed to cut those back

    • @rk-uf8ug
      @rk-uf8ug 4 місяці тому

No, you don't cut them back. The plant will continue to grow. I've had mine for over 25 years. I cut the top off when the plant reaches the ceiling!

Does this plant have some sort of distinct smell, or is it just a name Dracaena fragrans ?

It can grow flowers which are very fragrant. But don't expect flowers if you keep them indoors.

Yes, when it flowers it has a very beautiful scent similar to Jasmin. My plant has always been indoor and has bloomed several times. I'm looking at double blooms this very second.

Oh no disrespect taken! He was looking a bit rough in this video 😆Had some issues with overwatering after I moved him to a larger pot. Since then moved him back to its original pot and a bit closer to the window and it's pushing out so much new growth. Unfortunately lost one of the stems, it was just too far gone, but it seems as though the sacrifice wasn't in vain. Thanks for your comment!

I actually had to move mine from the south facing window to the east facing window which gets low light because the ends kept burning . Seems to be doing better there.

It should be in a pot inside a decorative pot. Just planting in a single none drainage pot is not good for most all I have read. You should get a smaller pot and put that inside this pot. And if don’t have lighter green in leaf needs more fertilizer. Trim the brown tips with a sharp scissors at an angle.

Are you supposed to cut back leaves off the stem because mine seems to have a whole lot of leaves on the stem I was thinking about cutting one-off to transplant

This plant is sensitive to salts and fluoride. Perlite should be avoided because it leaches a lot of fluoride

I don’t think it has anything to do where you purchase the plant , it has to do with the way you care for it

I have dozens of dracaena varieties and yours is the ugliest I’ve ever seen. You should try dracaena Dorado. It thrives in the deep shade.
