well done, thx for the info.
This should also work for the BDP-S7200, essentially the same model in a different case with a built-in power supply.
turns out I forgot this one has a front USB port, it works automatically via that port.
Great video ! Do you know if newer models can be used ? I have the ubp x800 and bdp s7200.
This exploit uses JavaScript and most newer models do not as far as I am aware.
@@Sonyphile thanks Sir.
You should check hifi haven to see the list, I think he posted links in the description. It's fine though, since older models are like $30-40 shipped and you don't want your newer player to get too much wear from ripping a bunch of SACDs.
Hi all, I need some clarifications on the connections required when ripping the SACD. Do you need to connect the blu-ray player to the internet? do you also need to connect the blu-ray player to your PC? but my desktop PC only has 1 LAN port that is already connected to my router internet LAN port (also only 1 LAN port) that connects to my PC. There are no more extra LAN ports (be it from my router or desktop) to connect the blu-ray player. How am I going to connect my blu-ray player to my PC and Internet at the same time? Do I really have to do that? Please enlighten. Thank you.
connect via local network by Ethernet or Wifi.
@@Sonyphile thanks! cheers...
AIMP media player for Windows will play DSD
PowerAmp for Android will play DSD as well
foobar2000 with SACD plugin can play DSD/DSF files
I have an Oppo 103, I switch the Oppo on, place the disc in the drive and insert the USB drive, go to my PC and tell it what to do. Doesn't seem to be bothered about when you insert the USB drive, it just works.
turns out I forgot this one has a front USB port, it works automatically via that port.
Interesting stuff. Does it really run JavaScript though? I'd always assumed it ran Java ie compiled code rather than readable script.
Unsure of the details on this.
I'm pretty sure it runs a script written in Java, not JavaScript
@@Sonyphile playes dont use javascript they use java
Hi, my sony BDV E-985W Can rip ?
please referred to the linked forum posts.
0:05 is it not pronounced as prefiss?
Now i can make SACD-R compilation music disc
Any idea how to burn SACD files on a disc to play in SACD player?
Blu-ray players use JAVA! not Javascript. SACD is 5.1 sound.
SACD is not directly linked to 5.1 surround sound. It can do Stereo and Quadrophonic as well.
@@Sonyphile yes it is SACD is 5.1 thats the whole point with SACD.
@@Alphadec That's not "the whole point", SACD was theoretically supposed to sound better by offering higher audio quality through effectively higher bitdepth and sampling rates / more direct D-A sound wave creation. The first players didn't even support multi-channel, and there are many(seemingly nearly half) stereo only releases. There are even still some blu-ray audio releases that are stereo only.
I'd imagine many audiophiles(which SACD targetted) wouldn't even want surround sound much of the time.
Alas.... I am totally lost... I think there are TONS of assumptions of knowledge that I simply do not have.. So many caveats and continues to be a very disjointed process... I think I'll just get an SACD player with I2S + DSD DAC with I2S and call it a day......
Terrible video,and extremely poor explanation.
