Man, the reviews you do, are top notch! Keep up with great reviews! Can i ask? I've been contemplating on which i should get. Options are 78 dollar cloud core wireless, blackshark v2 pro for 120 dollars and cloud 2 wireless for 130 dollars. I dont know if the blackshark and the cloud 2 wireless is worth the extra money. Can you help me get a clearer idea?
The biggest issue I have with most wireless headset options, is that the max volume is too low. Games are similar to movies for me, and I listen at a louder volume than I do listening to music. The only wireless headset I have heard that can get loud enough, is the Audeze Penrose X. They really need a max dB rating on the box for wireless headphones/headsets. We don't have sensitivity or amplifier ratings with an all in one. It's a wild guess if it will play loud enough for me. One reason I still prefer wired.
It's difficult to test this as well because headsets may have different volume peaks at different frequencies. Targeting a specific frequency may not always tell the entire picture. On a side note - LucidSound headphones get crazy loud. The new Master & Dynamic MG20 gets very loud as well and I'll be releasing a review on that soon. Some wired headsets are actually more quiet than wireless ones due to sensitivity differences and your source of course. Maybe one day soon I'll try to come up with a method of testing max output across many different headsets. I also need to be careful not to damage them either though haha.
@@GadgetryTech Hey Joe, Astro A20 Gen 2 vs Cloud Core Wireless ONLY for footsteps and competitive, which one wins please? Because you mentioned the Core Wireless has a drop in 4kHz which usually is where the footstep sound is
Hello. Helpful and thorough reviewer. I have a question since I cannot find a decent review on youtube for the hyperx cloud stinger 2 wireless which is something I cannot explain: for PS5 use cloud core wireless or cloud stinger 2 wireless? What would you suggest?
Hi Joe. I always get confused by HyperX's product line. Like, there's just too many headsets and I feel like they need to consolidate their lineup a bit. Stinger, Cloud, Cloud II, Core, Revolver, Flight, etc. It's probably not worse than any other major peripheral company but it's always confused me for some reason.
Corsair is a common culprit of that same confusion as well. Some other brands are easier to understand only because they don't have as many models. I'll admit some of the Cloud names can be confusing, as I had to research some differences and similarities between the Cloud Alphas, IIs, Revolvers, Core, etc. Thanks for the comments Rory!
Past couple years, I've had Arctis 9x, TB Elite Pro, TB 700 G2 ... all of them eventually having the yoke and ear cup broken one one side. Any advice or recommendations?
DTS only works on PC, as PS5 uses Sony's Tempest 3D audio engine. The Tempest engine works on every headset and is what you would want to use, because the games on PS5 are typically designed to run on the Tempest engine. The headset will sound great in both scenarios.
@@GadgetryTech appreciate the input, thanks! I was wondering because another reviewer, Gear Seekers, made it seem as though you could get the benefit of the DTS sound by changing the sound settings on PS5 from PCM to DTS after having unlocked DTS on your PC, but thanks for the clarification!
whats the best headset for xbox one ps4 ps5 i have no idea what to buy ,this wil be my first headset ,i dont care about fps games but i play halo and gears online with friends ! i was thinking the xbox one wireless or wired headset
You got a sub my friend. I wonder if you've had a chance to test Corsair HS70 Pro wireless. If yes, then which one would you choose? I am torn between the two.
Thanks! I haven’t heard them yet but typically Corsair has better mics with a more subdued sound. This is the case with the HS75XB and the Virtuoso XT. The bass is flatter and the trouble is usually a bit soft on Corsair. HyperX has more punch and brightness up top.
@@GadgetryTech Even the frequency on the Core is wider then on HS70's. My only concern is max volume. I've had the problem with Cloud 2 wireless and PS5. But I used to be a drummer so maybe that's why. Thanks for the reply.
Excellent review, I ended up purchasing these from Woot for $64. While I wait for them, I did some research on dts sound unbound. Can you confirm I don't need to pay for dts headphone:x or anything else? I read it's free for the trial then you need to pay $19.99 or something?
It comes with the headset while it's plugged in to your PC. So you can't use DTS on other headsets without paying, but any time you use this and the transmitter is plugged in, it's free!
im looking for a new headset for my xbox series and bought the hyperX cloudX a few days ago. the sound is pretty good but like you said in the video about it, it can sound a bit dull, actually thats the first things i've noticed.^^ now im thinking about buying the cloud alpha or maybe the cloud core but im uncertain about the sound if its to similar compared to the CloudX. just want a headset that sounds as clear as my old turtle beach px22. does someone have a recommendation for me ?
After using my Astro A20 Gen 2 for a while it has developed a fault, so I purchased 2 new headsets for my PS5 to extensively test and decide on which one I’ll keep. HyperX Cloud Core Wireless and SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 I can honestly say that ‘beast’ is definitely the correct word to use for the HyperX. They’ve tuned this headset to perfection So far based on my initial testing, HyperX is definitely the more smoother and cleaner sounding headset. Bass is definitely exactly how Joe described it in this video. The bass hits and doesn’t mix into the mids. The mids are balanced. The highs have super clarity and the positional audio is amazing. Sound is subjective, but I would say if you blind tested the HyperX Cloud Core Wireless, you would think it’s at least a £200 headset I’m going to do some heavy custom EQ adjustments and testing on the Nova 7 to see if it will make it easily beat the the HyperX, but I have a feeling that somehow the it won’t be night and day difference no matter what kind of EQ I use and will end up sticking with the HyperX I’ve always said that with A20’s, Astro accidentally developed the perfect headset and priced it cheap at £100 and I think it’s the same case with the Cloud Core Wireless. I’ve used the Cloud 2 Wireless and didn’t like it and Cloud Core Wireless sounds better
Following my initial comment, I’ve now extensively tested the Nova 7 with different custom EQ’s and it definitely is overall better than the Cloud Core Wireless. Footsteps in COD are very loud with the Nova 7 once you get that EQ right I’ve sent back the Cloud Core Wireless however, for some reason I’m actually sad to send it back, because it really is an amazing sounding headset for £100 and if it had an EQ option on the Ngenuity software, I definitely would have kept it
i asked my local online shop if i could test headphones and if iam not happy i could return them they told me no problem ! so wich one do you recommend les that 100 dollars euros please
Once again HyperX continues to make wireless headsets but ignores the Xbox consoles. Come on can't they make something other than the XFlight for a Xbox console?
I'll admit it would be nice to have an affordable wireless version from HyperX and a higher end version with Bluetooth. Right now Xbox players basically have wired versions and the Flight you mentioned. Hopefully one day!
This headset is $49.99 on Amazon now. Grabbing it.
yeah just got it at this price i feel it's a steal. I was using an Hyperx cloud wired i had for 8 years but it just died.
I got them today for 35 at target 🎯 great deal
Thank you! Very detailed review and straight to the point!
Please keep it up... :)
What an amazing video! Honestly hit every single point i could think of and i’m excited to get it tomorrow 😁😁
