I have to say I disagree with the part on the Hyperx earbuds, I’ve been using them for over a year now, and the reason why I like them so much is the same reason you didn’t really like them. They dont actually get inserted into the ear canal, and even though there is no actual seal, there is also not a build up of pressure overtime like you get with so many other earbuds which I find fatiguing after long periods. The Hyperx cloud earbuds to me have this open sound stage, without feeling “empty”. It gets plenty loud and feels full minus the pressure build-up i cited earlier. After all that’s said though this isn’t a very common nor expected feel/design when it comes to earbuds, people EXPECT the seal and sort of pressure in the ear canal, and I can imagine why it might be offputting for some? But it by no means results in a bad product, which the Hyperx Cloud earbuds certainly aren’t. Thanks for covering gaming earbuds! I appreciate you catering to us non-headset gamers :)
I got multiple ear infections since using the hyperx earbuds seems I only can use apple earpods for my ears but I don't know if they work on windows 10
I dont like headphones that much. I use earbuds usually. The main reason is I dont like the feel of the headphones as they go over head and cover the ear totally. It makes me feel suffocating

Exactly the same reason why I also switched to earbuds. I am now using QKZ VK4 IEM which is a very affordable but the sound quality is unmatched for the price especially for gaming. Linsoul is the shops name, the brand is kz knowledge zenith but fair enough. xD. How about tin audio t2/t2 plus and moondrop ssr/ssp? They have quite a wide sound stage and good seperation and all
These are much better options than the KZs. Honestly KZ just isn't worth it anymore when there are so many better buys. Maybe they were considered good a year or two ago but now - not so much.
KZ's are the first step into the hi-fi/chi-fi rabbit hole, basically... Once you're deep enough, you come back to the KZ's and realize they're honestly not that great😅 Most of their models are just your typical and generic V-shaped tuning, and stuffed with too many drivers for no better reason than marketing. More drivers ≠ better sound. The T2s were some of the best neutral IEMs I heard at the price.
@@Enhanz competition man, these chifi companies are putting out so many iems and they're constantly overtaking one another. I have the JBL one and it's really great for gaming when you are really concentrated but for any other use as listening to music or movie Its easy to notice how uncomfortable it is
I feel the HyperX buds were criminally overlooked here. I have been using them for 12 months and they are superb. The different shape of the eartip makes them incredibly comfortable to wear and do not cause your ears to ache. The sound quality is fantastic and incredibly very. I use mine for Siege and find them to be very accurate for hearing enemy footsteps. The large eartips create the seal in your ear for noise cancellation but I choose to use the medium size tip which doesn't create a seal - they feel / sound more like open backed headphones. I don't like the feeling of my ears being sealed off - I feel like I'm underwater and it's awful. In comparison, the Razer buds from the start of this video are made of metal which makes them very heavy and a painful to wear in your ears for long periods of time - this is why I returned my set and purchased the HyperX. It is very important to try the earbuds for yourself and not just assume a UA-cam reviewer is going to give you the best information - what you like and what they like are two very different things.
@@danijc9149 Yes by a long shot. I've been using them 2+years. The mic is OK depending on the headsets your teammates use. For some it will sound clear and for other they will sound muffled. (The nerds with poorly tuned astros always have issues). Audio is great. (I do have my own equalizer setting with Dolby Atmos though). And one thing to note is what OP mentioned. Sound isolation in earbuds is the absolute worse feeling. (It does feel like your underwater. Specially when trying to communicate with teammates that will cause you to scream, which these dont. That is a plus for these earbuds. The red may seem to flashy for outdoors. But the fact that you can here around you, they're great for that to. I took them in several bike rides. Near the ocean, woods, and busy roads. I could listen to a podcasts while still being able to be aware of my surroundings. I've combine them with turtle Beach pro+ Xbox adapter. And a 3.5mm splitter to attach my condesor mic. (with external power source.) For anyone that avoid headsets. (Either for there lack of comfort, "hothead", avoiding headache/migrains) I do recommend the Hyper X cloud Earbuds. Sometimes when listening to music I'll pop these on when my Samsung wireless buds aren't enough. Question: What other Earbuds does anyone recommend. That are tuned similar to these if not better. Yet when you get an echo off there mic you can hear yourself coming in clearly.) If plugged in straight to the controller you may get feedback being sent. But that's an issue with the Xbox controller. (I ran test with my brothers Xbox signed to the party. And could hear my self clearly with no issues. I use mine with the Turtle Beach mic adapter where it lowers the gain on the open mic just a bit so as not to pick up any background audio. I have opted to use an external condenser mic connected to its own power supply with all the fancy knobs and switches to tune my voice a little better. With a y-splitter I just separate the audio channels. Audio is still fantastic with these earbuds though. Better than any "gaming headset" I've tried before. Within its price range. There now $35 on Amazon. It really doesn't hurt to try them.
I would also highly the fiio fd1/fd5(I use the fd5) ....only downside is there is no mic with stock cable but you can find cables with a mic for the fd5 or the kz zsn pro x really cheap just 35 bucks but the sound clarity is amazing for the price and also has mic
@@Mr_jz_12 Compared to the KZs it's a bit pricey at 249 USD, but it's well worth it. 200 hours of burn in are necessary though to let the drivers settle, otherwise they are very bright out of the box.

I lost my hearing and I am now struggling with constant tinnitus for years after wearing headphones hours everyday for like 10 years. Please guys, please be careful. You don't want to end up like me. It's hell. Cool video though
Well that’s not good. I’ve been wearing earbuds at work, 6-7 hours a day, for quite a few years. And mine have to fight over the sound of heavy equipment. I get a hearing test annually, and my hearing has declined, but not much more than the average. Although I typically try to not blast it so loud that it’s going to do damage if I can help it. Actually I use Plugfones at work, they’re ear buds that double as ear plugs, so maybe that has something to do with it. And I keep a Bluetooth receiver in my pocket with a play/pause button and volume control so I can adjust at any time. But I have had incidents where I get tinnitus briefly and then it goes away. That’s probably how it starts huh? 🤦🏼 oh, also I typically don’t listen to music, I like audiobooks and documentaries. That probably makes a big difference.
@@chincemagnet I am not a doctor so I cannot say if it is safe or not. What I do know is that, unlike many other diseases, with Tinnitus, you will never get a warning sign. One day it is there, and there is nothing you can do to make it go away. I am glad you do regular hearing tests. If you ever do get Tinnitus, don't worry, it's probably normal. However, if you get Tinnitus more and more often, for example, once a month you should be careful as it might be a sign of hearing loss and chronic Tinnitus. Stay safe!
I believe creative sxfi trio is also worth mentioning. Really good soundstage, nice bass for gaming and movies, and actually very convincing virtual surround sound tech. Good for live music and some games
I bought the Razer hammerheads a while back and I have to share my experience here. Like Dimitri said the sound is all around excellent, cable feels nice, controls are good, though the ANC is a bit lacking. The issue for me was build quality. Every pair (and I've had 3 now) seems to wear out super fast around the connector. I don't know for sure if it's the wire out the back or in the usb-c plug itself, but within 3-5 months each pair I've had starts cutting out. If you keep the connector perfectly still, there's no problem, but as soon as you put your phone in your pocket, say, you start getting cutting out.
this is why any IEM with detachable cables is the best. any problem with the cable, easy just change to another cable. the connector is not prone to problems but it's easy to fix if it happens broken.
Try something like Tihifi t2 plus ➕ get a cable with with mic ➕ Foam tips if u are treble sensitive Better than any of these , Costs similar to Zs10 ➕ zs10 is old enough @Hardware Canucks

I use in-ears because of my hairstyle(gel/wax), and i currently use the HyperX ones. I used to use the Razer Adaro, but they suddenly broke. Earbuds are just like headphones. Just get a really good pair of earbuds and now you have something good for music, movies, and gaming. Tin HIFI T2's also make great all-around earbuds for $50.
No notes on soundstage, the most important part for FPS gamers (Awareness) I'll add some. KZ is going to have the best soundstage because of the balanced armatures. Soundstage is essentially surround sound but as a result of how accurately they reproduce sound.
soundstage is useless for directional audio in games because all the sound comes from the game engine itself. also accurate placing of sounds is down to imaging not soundstage.
@@jdxjoxi Imaging is just how selarated they are, for a headphone to have soundstage it has to sound like it's around you and from different distances. eitherway, my FH3's are straight up holographic

And clearly you dont know what ER4s are if youre calling them shitty. While a headphone being open back might result in wider stage, the driver type in an iem has nothing to do with the stage...

Good thing to talk about earbuds for gaming ! I personally used KZ (zax) for gaming for a few months but ended up going back to a headset (Beyerdynamics) not because of the sound quality which was perfect, but the fact that while using earbuds, you hear yourself too much and end up no hearing enough the game of coms at night when at low volume.

I've been staring at that thumbnail...it looks so god damn awesome, every earbud has been meticulously placed to resemble a form or something...or maybe it's just that I'm high atm...
I have to say, I own the razer Hammerhead ANC usb-c earbuds and I've had to send them for a replacement once and they're breaking again. Don't get me wrong I love the ANC, it mostly cancels lower frequencies and sound quality is amazing as well. The issue I've been having is that the cable loses connection, essentially the cable gets damaged from use, I mainly use it on my phone on my way to work. Guess the damage comes from kinking the cable or from rolling them to put them on the pouch? No idea, for braided earbuds they damage easily at the end of the cable.
For microphone, I do a USB microphone desk mounted. I much prefer separating the two. If one part breaks, you still have the other. So far my favorite IEMs for sound quality are the Ikko OH10s. Bassy and super clear. Soundstage. Things feel far away despite being right there in your ears. Absolute eargasm. I do also really love the Kinera BD005. They're maybe a bit harsher than the OH10, and the soundstage isn't as good (I doubt you will find much with as good a soundstage for less or more to be honest) I prefer both of these to the Linsoul KZ-ZS 10 . Both of these also have zero cable noise. Big perk to both of these is that same dual pronged replaceable cable. So if you get too excited while gaming and destroy the cable, you can just replace them. Linsoul certainly makes some amazing cables, that tangle less, feel premium. I highly suggest getting those if you get any IEM that has that standard replaceable cable.
I've been using the KZ ZSN Pro earbuds. They are cheap and incredibly comfortable like you mentioned about the ZS10's. Sound is not bad, but could be better for gaming.
SUPER IMPORTANT: only buy wired earbuds that have a removable cable! That way when the cable frays/rips, you only have to replace the cable. KZs are great because of that alone.
i'm currently using my KZ ZSN Pro as my gaming earphone on Pc and they works great . Even the slightest footsteps on csgo is noticeable and it's accurate too . Worths my $15 :)
great video Dimitri! was shocked to not see the Turtle Beach Battle Buds on this list. I know TB has a reputation of not meeting up to most competition sound quality wise but they do come equipped with a full size gaming mic which is detachable!
I picked those up from Amazon too just out of curiosity since they're so cheap. The mic quality is great. The sound quality is great too for the price. I don't think they're very comfortable unfortunately - I don't like how the kind of heavy buds are wholly supported by the in ear inserts since they're a little heavy they should have some more support I think.

FINALLY, I've been waiting for this video for years
Is there some kind of mistakes ? My hyperX earbuds fit my ear and very comfortable with medium size, not easily loose like you described.
Have you thought about that everyone's ear canal is shaped and sized differently? What works for you doesn't have to work for someone else.
I have to say I disagree with the part on the Hyperx earbuds,
I’ve been using them for over a year now, and the reason why I like them so much is the same reason you didn’t really like them.
Well. I'm glad to read that. I think I will go with the hyperX then
Do they work good with PUBG mobile and hearing footsteps? I'm thinking about getting a pair..

Exactly the same reason why I also switched to earbuds. I am now using QKZ VK4 IEM which is a very affordable but the sound quality is unmatched for the price especially for gaming. I hated my previous Logitech g433 headset leaves a mark on both sides of my hair even after I shower, the dent is still there which was really annoying because I was hair conscious :D
Linsoul is the shops name, the brand is kz knowledge zenith but fair enough. xD. How about tin audio t2/t2 plus and moondrop ssr/ssp? They have quite a wide sound stage and good seperation and all
I use the TIN 2's with a Rode USB mic - I really dig the TIN 2 for my competetive FPS gaming
@@envyy506 for regular use more than enough
I’m using my apple earpods when playing. I don’t like headset and the normal earbuds type, does the sound of HyperX better than the apple earpods?
(with external power source.)
For anyone that avoid headsets.
Cause the 14mm driver sure does its job. I've tried several IEM' but b/c there usually tuned for some genre of music they never seem to work well with video games.
Agreed, they are great
Hey how’s the mic on the hyperx
@@meppy9945 It's alright (usually people with shitty Astros will hear you muffled, how that happens is annoying from the way those folks tune there audio. Or even at that the hearing loss they've developed from havibg to crank up there audio to max just to try and hear anything.

@@driftingthroughthisplace5898 competitive games? you better go with open headphones for better soundstage and imaging.
For IEMs, the soundstage and imaging majority of them are mediocre, you need above $500 IEM to compete with $300 headphones. They lack imaging especially vertical imaging so if you play games where vertical position cues are important then you're already dead when you didn't hear enemies' footstep above you, and the soundstage are hit and miss.
Stay safe!

I only ask because that opens a whole new can of worms as far as buds go.
I use in-ears because of my hairstyle(gel/wax), and i currently use the HyperX ones. I used to use the Razer Adaro, but they suddenly broke.
I normally use the medium eartips with all in-ears, but with the HyperX i have to use the large ones, otherwise they are too loose. They are a bit more open than others when it comes to sound, but the sound they produce is also amazing for in-ears. The only big negative for me is that normal tips dont fit, and if i lose one i cant just replace it.

Earbuds are just like headphones. Just get a really good pair of earbuds and now you have something good for music, movies, and gaming. Honestly, out of everything on this list, the Linsoul KZ-ZS 10 are the only ones worth mentioning. The rest either lack too much or have too much "fake" sound such as muddy bass. Tin HIFI T2's also make great all-around earbuds for $50.
TRN V90 have been pretty good for gaming as well if you're into Chi-Fi IEMs
@@rhythimrt9970 Imaging is the overall accuracy of placement, not just how separated they are. And BA doesnt mean good staging. ER4s are single BA but still have a close stage because of the deep fit.
@@jdxjoxi Congrats, Shitty headphones are shitty headphones. Should everyone refrain from stating that open backs have better sound stage because some open backs are badly designed?
@@rhythimrt9970 Well yes because theres a massive diff between saying "open backs tend to have wider stage" and "all open backs have wider stage". Just because an open back doesnt have a wide stage, it doesnt mean theyre badly designed. Take the 6x0 series for example, benchmark mids and tuning yet they still have an subpar stage. And clearly you dont know what ER4s are if youre calling them shitty. While a headphone being open back might result in wider stage, the driver type in an iem has nothing to do with the stage...

I highly suggest getting those if you get any IEM that has that standard replaceable cable.
can i use a usb mic and a wireless earbud?

I've been using the KZ ZSN Pro earbuds. They are cheap and incredibly comfortable like you mentioned about the ZS10's. Sound is not bad, but could be better for gaming.

great video Dimitri! was shocked to not see the Turtle Beach Battle Buds on this list.
