I had gall bladder problems in the early 2000's. I went to the emergency room 2 times and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. The 3rd time I went to the emergency room and they couldn't find anything, I said 'why don't you check my gall bladder'. They laughed, but did a scan and were surprised that I was right. I went in to the hospital in 2005 for gall bladder removal. In 2008 I started having the same symptoms. I went back to the hospital and was told that it was my gall bladder. Hmm, I said. That's funny. I had it removed in this hospital in 2005. Well, you should've seen the look on the tech's face. She went and got the head of radiology and he couldn't explain why I had a gall bladder. I called my regular doctor and she actually told me that it had 'grown back and I would need it removed again'. I laughed at her. I found out that birth control pills effect the gall bladder, so I stopped taking them. A week later I was symptom free and I have also never trusted a doctor since then.

I almost died passing a stone that got lodged into my liver duct. Pancreatitis as a result, by the time I got into the ER I had about an hour to live. Went in Sunday night, woke up Friday afternoon. I was 23. They said it was from caffeine. I had it removed and I've never had a problem with digestion since. I used to suffer horribly from constipation and I haven't had that problem since. Also, it's like one of those things where you don't know how crappy you feel until it's removed. I remember being like 'wow! I literally feel so much better!' I had no idea how sick I was feeling until the problem was removed. I don't regret having it removed at all. That was 16 years ago.

At 76 yrs of age my husband was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. That very long ongoing traumatic experience could write a book-made-into-a-movie! He survived for 13 more years (before emphysema took him from us).
We were told his cancer had 80% chance of coming back but it never did. Because of his age and frailty they wouldn't give him chemo or radiation. . . But his body craved fruit constantly which he would gorge on. We always believed the fruit is why the cancer didn't come back.

However after the 3rd one I started getting the symptoms of what Dr Ekberg mentioned with the pain between abdomen and right side as well as upper back pain and plenty of belching after meals. Eating large meals makes the gallbladder react. I will tell you what you can eat: fruits, vegetables, salads, but be careful with the salad dressing because most of them have canola and those oils upset the gallbladder. Eating lots of sugar causes inflammation in the body so stay away from that. I use maple syrup or honey. You have to limit that to 12 teaspoons per day. You can also try Stevia but for crying out loud do not use Splenda or those fake sugars cause chemicals are bad for your body. I hope that helps. The third time I went the doctor took one look at me an ordered an ultrasound which showed I had a duct full of stones and had to have emergency surgery. I am very grateful that the doctor did laparoscopic surgery and zapped the stones instead of removing my gallbladder, he did not believe in removing organs. I’m also grateful for this video as well especially when he mentioned about the nerve that goes up the neck, I’ve had issues with the right side of my neck for years and I know there’s something up with my gallbladder and liver right now because I can feel it, there’s no other way to say it other than I just know.

My GB problems increased for about 6 weeks after I started a keto diet but then it cleared up. I believe my GB became sludgy because my high carb diet had little use for all the bile salts just waiting for something to act on. Once I started my high fat diet, my GB now got in high gear and started working the way it should have . It needed 6 weeks to clear out the sludge. No problem since then with my GB

I have changed doctors so many times and finally my newest PCP had a second HIDA scan done with ejection fraction and they could see pain. My gallbladder was functioning at 17%. My PCP arranged an appointment with the surgeon and in less than 2 weeks my gallbladder came out. The surgeon said the surgery was justified because the gallbladder was so scared from years of attacks. My digestive issues are not perfectly resolved, but I am finally feeling so much better! I got so choked up thanking both my doctor and my surgeon for finally believing me. Now I’m looking to take care of what’s left of me because surgery is hard to recover from at an older age.

Thank you dr Ekberg. I am very lucky and privileged to have you helping me with my current gallbladder and digestive issues. If I had gone to an allopathic doctor I’m sure my gallbladder would have been removed. Hope you hit a million subscribers here in April !

@@drekberg Hi Doctor, I just seen your video now after I had a horrible attack a couple days ago and haven't eaten in two days now. I also had chills after but not really fever. This morning my urine was brownish! Will my pee go back to normal on it's own? What can I do?

Mom had severe gall bladder issues post WWII. At72, even though I've always eaten healthy, I've had these symptoms all my life, as mom had them, I thought it was just normal for our family. She took some Italian meds daily. Never knew what it was. I was hoping I'd see this video soon. So I'd have correct info as I'm 72 now and just figured out that both parents were relatively healthy until they both had either stroke or heart attack at 80 yrs old. Stress has been a major stressor for me for years and I've always noticed changes in my bowels during those times.
Thank you as I knew I've needed this information. Now that asthma from dad is no longer an issue. I knew mom's gall bladder was going to visit me. Llol

You are a very thoughtful, thorough speaking man. You take your time and speak very well. I am not an anatomy expert by any stretch, but you cover each item well enough for me to understand. Thank you. If you are not a professor at a university you should be, many could learn well from you.

Thank you for this clear explanation. I especially appreciate how you reference hypothyroidism as an effect of liver/gallbladder function. I just learned this from another reference after being on Armour Thyroid for the past few years. None of the doctors I've seen ever mentioned that one could affect the other. So I'm still taking my thyroid meds but I'm working on clearing up my fatty liver which will hopefully help my gallbladder and head off gallbladder issues and also help with my hypothyroidism.

Look into liver/gallblader flukes as well (fasciola hepatica). They live in the bile ducts and can play a major part in gallblader-related issues

@@neveralone7212 Yes I just finished my 10 day prescription that my doctor gave me. It was somewhat hard and anyone taking Clostaramine needs to be prepared for Constipation by taking Apple Juice with it and getting the right amount of Magnesium Citrate or one could have a serious problem. I felt great while taking it but since going off it I have been feeling achy pain and nausea, even some cramping under the ribcage..
