Elderly people struggling with the muscles that feel like cramps but on the inside of the back? Things that mimic piriformis on the elderly. I think that'd be a great video
Dr, thank you you are such a blessing! My pain is on the lot side, I have done everything I can to get rid of my pain and this seemed to help a little bit but I'm still not sure, are there any other exercises I can do in conjunction with this that you didn't include in the video? Also can you do future videos on this❤thank YOU Dr.
Great advice! After a T-bone accident, I had 3.5 yrs of physical therapy. I used to need this exercise to heal. I had a Great physical therapist and I am comparimg that therapist to him. He is great!
So random but I want to ask if as a mail delivery person, do yall like when people wave or say hi? Because I always always always wave at our mail lady and idk if she ignores me or what 😂 I just want to say thank you 😅 and if I don’t, I feel rude.
Thank you for this video and explaining the steps to resolve my "tilted" pelvis. The adjustments are helpful that I get from my Chrio - and I have just begun to look at the exercises that I need to help with just the area this video covers! You are right on with the muscle group I am targeting. Thanks again
Thank you for your help! You’re stretches and workout, really relieved the hip pain I was walking around with for a week. I’ve never experienced this pain before, and a few easy stretches and relief maneuvers completely relieved my pain without one pill. Thank you so much!
@@DrRowe The exercises are working! The video that you recommended the thin band around the lower hips was a complete game changer for me. I went from constant pain in my hip joint and bottom, to absolutely no pain almost instantly. I even had to take breaks during light housework. Now it is no problem. Keeping muscles symmetrical and bones aligned is so important. I am curious, are there some exercises to elongate your neck? I find myself tense a lot in my shoulders and shrug my shoulders while I sleep. I try to stuff pillows around my neck, but I find my neck is getting shorter as time goes by.
Thank you so much for posting these exercises! I have weekly PT and so very many useful exercises from UA-cam, but they are not relieving the pain I was currently having in my hip and back. The ballerina exercise is exactly what I need!
Thank you very much for these clear and practical tips. I so appreciate the way that you explain what the problem areas are and addressing them with such clear instructions 🙌 many thanks 🙏🏻
I’ve had a high hip forever and chiropractors give me same adjustment and send me on way. Thank you for this! I like to run but this hip issue gives me problems when running. I hope this resolves it!
Wow, what a great video. i've had uneven hips for a really long time, but thought it was due to my hip joint. I know one side of my hips is much tighter than the other side, so perhaps this will help to even that out. I believe my uneven hips has led to a sore IT band I've been dealing with too, as I see some overlap between the stretches.
Dr. Rowe, Thank you for all the work you are doing for us. I would like to ask you if, perhaps, you might have any recommendations for good chairs for people suffering from HIP arthritis.Thank you very much,
Thanks for the tips on strengthening the muscle groups to stabilize the hip area I've done plenty of stretching but that wasn't enough. The weakness and imbalance was causing discomfort all the way through my right leg clear to my ankle
This is so different from my physical therapy. This makes more sense than dropping the high fast while the low side is on the step. Does this lateral uneveness cause any problems?
Great exercise, as always ! I wonder if you can design an exercise while sitting? I am trying one right now. Sitting towards one edge of the chair and dropping the tight ( higher hip) with bent knee. Keep the spine straight. It seems to have some stretching effect.
Please also tell exercises for anterior pelvic tilt, and posterior pelvic tilt. Also please tell exercises for scoliosis that happens because of bad posture.
Thanks, Doc I have a degenerative disc between C6 and C7 more than 15 years ago and it calls me to have uneven hips and also my spinal cord began to bend and I really need to do these exercises. Thank you for sharing.
Leg shorter could mean anterior rotation of ilium on the sacroiliac joint. Or the long side could have a posterior rotation. Both these will force your muscles to give you grief.
That's what I was always led to believe until a doctor noticed that my lowest spinal joint had one side fused to my pelvis! This was from birth. It helped to explain why I always felt the need to stretch one leg when trying to sleep. I used to also wonder why one leg seemed to be shorter than the other. That defect led to a lifetime of muscular imbalace that eventually caused my lowest 3 lumbar discs to compress on one side pinching nerves which created sciatica for a while down my left leg. Caused hamstring issues as well to the point I couldn't sit in a chair. The only chair I can now sit in fairly comfortably is a zero gravity chair. I have to take gabapentin in the evening to be able to sleep since the pain goes into overdrive once I get sleepy in bed. But ... I can walk great!
I am recently suffering with one side of my lower back feeling like something is getting pinched. I recently found out I had one leg lower than the other and now I have a medical insole that I wear in one shoe to counterbalance myself. Im worried I found this out to late because I do ALOT of running and exercise. How did you fix the pinching nerve feeling and sciatic pain? Thanks
Dear Dr. Rowe, Thank you for your excellent videos! Following an accident, I've been suffering from persistent blockages in my lumbar spine and sacroiliac joint. Previously, I could resolve these through self-adjustment, but after experiencing a protrusion in L4, I was advised against this until the disc fully heals. Are there any gentler alternative methods to address such blockages? I'm constantly in severe pain and unsure how to tackle this problem. Kind regards
Great stuff. My chiro discovered my right leg is about 9mm shorter than my left which over the years caused my spine to develop a slight scoliosis. Eventually I had a bulged disc injury that ended up pinching my sciatic nerve on my right side which has never been the same since. I tend to have a lot of stiffness and pain from extended sitting, walking, and during weightlifting especially with twisting motions. Your exercises in this video really targets those problematic areas. Any additional recommendations?
Hello sir, i am feeling numbness in inner portion from knees to ankle after walking. Could you please suggest which of your exercise video would help me
HELLO Dr. Very nice video. My husband has started limping since last two years. It all happened post a trek. Consulted many Docs. But all in vain. He walks with a limp and as soon as he increases his speed, the limping increases too. Is the hip disalignment , due to the trek. Please suggest.
Will try these... And I get bad inflammation in my upper back and it wraps round to my front ribs....after been out of bed a few hours..and moving about...and walking....it comes on....I use hot water bottle to help relieve it....can you help with this..please ?..be so very grateful.
Hello Dr Rowe, I’ve begun to notice that my left knee is somewhat “bowing in” . There is a genetic component as my mom and my aunt both had the same problem. What exercises can I do to correct this tendency? Thank you. I do strength training and I know side lunges and sumo squats help. Nothing has helped so far.
I have scoliosis so are these exercises maintenance to reduce pain from tightness and stiffness or can I expect a permanent fix? I think the former. What do you say?
You are brilliant with your info and the way you communicate with such ease and timing…you could describe anything and it would be crystal clear…cracked me up with even the subtle humor you emanated with the walking buttcheeks…bravo on a perfect video!!! Well done 👍🏻
Dude I have this problem 😅 this probably the key because my right lower back muscles are so tight and always over squeeze when I do any work out that required back stability
Thank you, I often find my legs are different by up to an inch. My orthopaedic physio sorts it by stretching me to realign me. Whilst he’s off sick I’m seeing an osteopath and also go to a chiropractor. Be great if I can correct myself though.
Hi, I've got lumbar scoliosis and naturally my body 'falls' to the right. My high hip is the left one, and doing the ballerina I've got to stretch to the right, and after the excercise my right side feels.. bad.. like if had to stretch it after. Is it still right? Shall I keep doing it? Thanks!
I was born with a LLD (Long leg Discrepancy). At 31 years of age I got a LL (Leg lenghtening) Surgery on my right Leg. However, my left QL is always tight and my left hip always sit higher so I am unsure whether I am unevenly structured even after both my legs are of equal length now or whether is a tight/weak muscle situation.
I cannot see in the mirror which hip is lower. I don't really have visible hips amongst my 'puppy' fat! What I can say is that my left leg feels longer than my right and my centre of gravity bias is to the right side, so my left foot is flat Should I be standing on my right foot for this first exercise?
I need your help, I have a really bad back, now I seem to have bad hip on left side burning in the groin and nothing helps, please advise what I should do best please
My low side is also the side that’s high. So I’m confused. I feel like it’s pulling it up. My hip flexers are tight on all sides. Any help would be appreciated.
Omg, this video is SO helpful - I was so confused because none of the other videos I'd watched about this topic explained about the tight QL vs weak glutes - I thought everything was tight on the higher side so didn't understand why my glutes were tighter on my lower side. Thank you so much for explaining!
Hi.. Dr Rowe... Basically I am living in a very primitive country.. nobody even physical therapist understand these things here. My right hip is higher and my left hip is lower... and all daylong I am pain.
