Hey Crafters and Crocheters,
Are you ready to make a blanket? Using all the Caron Cakes yarn that you bought back in 2016?
Yarn I'm using: Caron Cakes
5 Colors: Pistachio, Bumbleberry, White Truffle, Red Velvet, Blueberry Muffin
Hook size: H or 5mm
Today's video is the start of the pattern, The chain, row 1, and row 2.
Next week will be Rows 3 & 4 (which is the pattern repeat)

I only buy yarn when it is on sale. Sometimes I have to wait, but there are plenty of other crochet projects I can work on, but hubby still sometimes asks why I have so much yarn and I point out that the yarn was on sale, etc. I love to crochet! Love your channel!

You worry too much. Those of us who watch you, watch cuz we like you and what you do. The nasty folks are simply people you get to ignore. I think once we get the basic pattern down we won’t need to watch every stitch, but for now it’s great. Keep on keeping on!

I found that it needs to be on an odd 10 eg 30, 50, 70, 90 etc, I done 22 chain for my swatch and it left 2 chain at the end, so i done 32 chains and it worked out right. Are you kidding me! this was a great tutorial and I've followed lots of tutorials before this was one of the simplest ones i have done. I will most probably make a blanket but I usually make a swatch to see if I like a pattern first, Thanks for sharing.
I now know my numbers were off a little bit, I did fix it in my notes but it's hard to fix it in a video that's already been filmed. I'll have to do a follow up video.
My public library gives away old books. I got a lot of crochet-instructional books there!

Gorgeous. Love caron cakes but they are so expensive. Its the wool acrylic blend that gives it the pop!!!!U r doing a great job! Keep on keeping on. I have lost my crojo many times. Beautiful stitchwork. Yea But its just great what you made. Pistachio, gorgeous colors. I love the color choices you made. Michaels advertises 5$ balls but they are always out of stock. Clickbait. Cant buy them in any other store.Looking forward to your tutorial pattern workshop. Any tips to avoid the first row pinching in due to being worked into the chain ? Dont frog the first row if stitch count off just try to add a few more stitches in case u skip some by mistake. Then you can unravel the slip knot and retie it after counting.
Yes, the cakes are very expensive. I try to shop when Michael's is having a sale with 40% to 50% off.

I am curious you stitch count 170, roughly what size bed would fit?
I have been crocheting for 40+ yrs. About ten years ago I took up knitting and do enjoy it but love to crochet.

Thank you so much! The blanket would just fit a twin size bed, nothing bigger than that. The blanket measures 52 inches by 56 inches. I hope this helps.
Oh my. I cringed when you cut the yarn. 😅. I recently found your channel and I will be making this. Is this worked side to side or bottom to top?
I think you're asking if it's horizontal vs. vertical? It's horizontal, so side to side. It's okay to cut the yarn!! lol
Can you not use your cakes as patchwork squares?
Maybe, but I think the color changes take too long and the squares would look more like solid colors.
