1st pattern I learned after practicing the basic stitches, was the waffle stitch. I'm making a blanket now with this stitch/pattern that's in the tutorial. I'm liking it!
I ran into a complete stranger today at Hobby Lobby and we had a whole conversation about our current projects and she told me I had to come here and check out your videos and specifically this one. I am so thankful I met this wonderful lady and so glad she directed me here.
I ran into a lady about 2 months ago in HL and referred the lady to watch this channel as well! You do t happen to live in the Pittsburg area do you lol. Robin is the most precise and easy to follow teacher for beginners! I just love her work!
I just want to thank you so very much for the way you teach! You never assume that we know all the terminology so you explain perfectly how we're to do every stitch!!!
You are the greatest teacher! I'm in process of making a throw for my husband. Not wanting to change colors too frequently, I am using a very colorful varigated yarn that is working up beautifully. He loves color, and he's getting it .
You're such an excellent instructor! You speak clearly and with just the right amount of repetition for each new step. And, your voice is so soothing! Thank you for the excellent content you create Robin. You got me back into crotchet. ❤
I absolutely agree!! You've taught me how to crochet and the way you explain, like they said with just the right amount of repetition has taught me how to recognize patterns in thr stitches of other projects, how to recognize mistakes and everything
I am a beginner and you are the BEST teacher for crochet on UA-cam. You make it so simple, and explain then repeat… I love your channel so much. Also, your beautiful manicures do not go unnoticed. Thank you so very much for all your helpful videos. You bring me great joy. 😄
Yes! This has definitely become my new favorite stitch! Looks so beautiful with a nice variegated yarn. I chain 2 in between each single crochet instead of just one chain just to give a little more stretch for a sweater I'm making. Thanks for a great tutorial and beautiful stitch!
This is one of the best videos I've seen to date. So many go so fast that you constantly have to go back. Or, some are not in English, so you have to read the subtitles. It's frustrating trying to watch the stitch being done AND read the subtitles at the same time. I also very much appreciate all the links you left here, including a printable version of this pattern. Thank you so much!
Since seeing this tutorial I have used this stitch ALOT... 3 baby blankets...and a baby sweater... so easy and turns out absolutely beautiful... Thank you for sharing this wonderful stitch ... ❤❤❤
This is a beautiful stitch. Thank you! For anyone who hates weaving in ends, you can buy 2 skeins of the single crochet color and 2 of the cluster color and just carry the yarn up as you go if you will be making a border to hide all the carry-ups. A bit annoying to have 4 working skeins to keep track of and untangled, but better than weaving in if you really hate that.
Where do I begin to express how thankful I am to you for showing me this stitch, and "yes" it is my new favorite stitch!! I just finished one throw and am starting another. I have such an extensive yarn stash that I collected over the years, that I decided it would be best just to make throws out of it. I like keeping my hands busy at night while watching tv, and this pattern is perfect! Thank you again for sharing it with us.
Hi, thankyou,I have mastered the single/ cluster stitch. Your video was informed and I worked along with you and achieved a very good result. At 58 never thought I could learn. You helped me a lot. Thank you again, I may learn more stitches.
Hi Helen, that is fantastic! 😃 All my crochet stitch videos are on this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLP0pPGx0kI88XESUxbu1o9gnM7cazQXOY.html I hope that helps.x
My son and his wife are expecting their first baby. I’m a knitter learning crochet for the first time and was seriously considering going back to knitting for the baby blanket but I’m going to give this a try first! Thank you for the EXCELLENT tutorial!
Robin, I love to crochet but have be stuck with Granny squares, Granny Rows or double crochet.....for years because I just couldn't make sense of those patterns. But, Hurray!!! I've learned two different patterns in two days watching you. :) :) :) Your directions and camera shots are so clear and easy to understand. I can stop the video or back it up and crochet right along with you. Thank you, Thank you!
I did a short yarn/crochet demo at work & for those who were interested in learning, I gave your channel as a reference. You truly are the most patient & detailed instructor I've found on here. Thank you for all that you do. ❤💖
I haven't picked up a crochet hook for ages (although my granny and my mum taught me to crochet when I was a kid), but your videos have inspired me to crochet again. You explain all the techniques so well and make it so easy to follow.
I was just sorting through all of my baby yarn to decide what to do with it and then you showed this stitch! It's perfect! It's so easy and works up fast! I can watch tv and not lose my place! Perfect! Thanks for sharing!!
Great pattern. I do a lot of blankets for charity. This stitch would be a great way of using up scrap yarn. Use one solid colour as a base or for several rows and then add one row in some scrap colors to give it a pop.
I do the same. Just finished one with all the scraps from several charity blankets! It is beautiful, if I do say so myself! And it is great fun to make because you are always looking forward to seeing what the colour combinations will look like. Just a tip: I used light colours for the clusters for a few rows, with a darker colour for the sc rows. After a few 2-row pattern rows, I used a medium colour for the next cluster row and switched to lighter colour for the sc row (and darker for the cluster rows). Again, it is great fun! There are so many combinations you can do. Clusters in colour and sc in green and it looks like rows of flowers! M
Oh Robin, this is a beauty of a stitch pattern! Works up beautifully..and it isn’t too difficult! You’re an amazing teacher and I truly appreciat your crochet expertise!! 💕🤗
I came across your tutorial the cluster stitch, I was searching how to make this stitch my directions wasn't all that clear. Before my aunt passed away she started a Heavenly Hearts Afghan and gave it to me to finish. Thanks for the super easy instructions.
I started a scarf with some !00% wool, and OOOOh! I love this stitch. The sides are perfectly straight and the stitches are well-defined with the wool. I do love this. Thanks.
I never ever crochet before. And i want to try new hobbies, crochet is one of i want to try. Because my nephew will born 2 months more i want makes something that could be useful in long term. Your videos is popped up. At first "oh this not gonna be for beginners". And i'm trying again and again until i could finished 1 row clusters but the shapes still bad😅. Next day i'm trying again with real count around 110 foundation chain. Now i'm on first row cluster stitch😆 I'm so happy your explanation is simple yet you repeat again and again. So i could remembering what the next steps. Thank you so much for your video!!🥰🤍 Might be my blanket not as clean and neat as yours but it's my first time soo i hope i could make it better in the future😆
I love watching your videos! I am a beginner and your tutorials are so thorough in that there is no way of getting confused or mixed up as to what stitch to go into or how many chains to make....one would have to be out to sea if they aren't getting it, and believe me, I can be out to sea quite a bit with all the distractions I've got going on with our small animal rescue here in our home. Thank you so very much for this wonderful outlet in order to learn the lovely craft of crochet ❤
Awwwh! You are so welcome Tami, I am so pleased you are enjoying crochet. A small animal rescue sounds amazing but I am sure hard work too, what a lovely thing to do.😍🤗
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I used to do a cluster stitch for my blankets a few years back but lost the pattern. When I seen your tutorial I was so excited. Your directions were very easy to understand and follow. Making a practice run with some scraps then off to buy yarn to make a blanket. Thank you again. 😊😊😊
Thank you again! This is the second blanket I've stitched with you...I'll be back for me. I'm now making blankets for the shelter animals! I have four fur-babies and they just love my blankets. They knead day and night and sleep so soundly on my crochet blankets. You're a great teacher!
Well.. I came across this video last night and ultimately ended up spending a fortune at ice yarns. I couldn't find any of the pastels or pretty yarns you use in stock, but I got some unbelievable deals and have almost 100 skeins of yarn coming!! The shipping is what hurts, but still a good deal. I did find a yarn I am going to use for this pattern, and I can't wait!! I greatly appreciate all you do for us out here. Thank you so much from the USA!!
@bonniefayejones6926 i dont like using cotton, in general. But if you have a hobby lobby near you, they have I Love this Cotton yarn. Itnis very soft and much easier to crochet with. It makes very nice blankets. Just make a swatch and see if you like the thickness of the blanket. Stick to a simple stitch, like sc, dc in same stitch, sk 1 st, sc dc in next stitch. I think it is a suzette stitch. But it is a great one for blankets, scarves, etc. I hope this helps.
In my opinion, this stitch is prettier than the boxed block stitch; it is more defined and overall it looks more dense yet the clusters work pretty fast. Thanks for this new tutorial 😊 just love it 😍 ❤😍
Thank you Robin. Hooked by you is definitely the term I use. Having only learnt crochet a month ago I have used the cluster stitch to create a jumper. Your videos are clear and easy to follow. Thank you ❤
Very clear as usual:and beautiful pattern . I have a friend who wants to learn to crochet (abd we're not risking a fallout by me teaching her)😂. I have recommended your videos from all the thousands on the web for your excellent teaching style and nice pace ❤
Love your teaching your patterns as you show each step carefully explaining each step in detail. Thank you Robin for experience help with each new pattern. ❤from southern ontario 🇨🇦 GOD BLESS THANK YOU. GOD
And another wonderful video! I must admit that your accent is a delight to me. My grandfather immigrated from England in the early 1900’s and I’ve been soothed by a British accent my whole life. That and the marvelous content have got me hooked ❤️
Thank you Robin! I see why this is now a favorite, easy to do but more importantly, stunning to look at. I'm going to change colors on the rows. The way the sc row sets of the cluster rows is so worth a little extra time.
Recap, finished a scarf with this stitch, all one colour and it is one of my fave stitches. Thanks for sharing your expertise with all of us,I absolutely love your channel, keep the stitches coming. 😀
This is a cute and easy pattern. Perfect for a last minute baby shower gift, the kind I would do to store away for new baby in neighborhood. White for od number row and yellow or green for the clusters, sounds good. Thanks Robin.
I am a Beginner and watching all your video Tutorials has helped me greatly. So far I was able to knit the cluster and Moss Stitches, Wonderful and Great video Crochet Tutorials, Thanks so much Robin for sharing your knowledge 👍💯💛🇵🇬
Robin this is a beautiful yet simple stitch pattern. You are a good instructor, clear and concise. I can see this worked into baby blankets, which I often do. Thank you!😊
This is beautiful. I've been meaning to make a scrap yarn sweater, but don't want to use the plain old double crochet, that most tutorials suggest. I think this is the perfect stitch for it! I'm so grateful for finding this video, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for teaching me this cluster and the moss stitch! I really like this cluster combo for my 1st baby blanket.....just getting started! You have an easy and patient style that works for me so thanks again! val
Once again thank-you for this simple stitch and your very clear directions and details and also always information on the yarns you use and where to buy them and the hook sizes you use for the yarn thank-you.
My favorite yarn is premier puzzle for baby blankets. Between this stitch and the 5 weight of the yarn, it goes really fast and only takes 2 -2 1/2 skeins for a good sized blanket. It doesn't need to be bordered because the sides stay straight, but also works well with a border if you choose. Also works well for lapghans and wheel chairs. The stitch is dense so it makes warm blankets and holds it shape through washing. I don't like to weave ends, so I haven't made any with alternating colors, but I like the look of yours and can see the beautiful possibilities....a Christmas throw with variegated yarn and solid mix, pastel baby colors, bright rainbow colors for a toddler, etc
Oh I love love love this stitch. I had been driving myself crazy trying to find a great stitch for a blanket for the hubby and this one is perfect! Thank you so much, You are awesome 😍
I love this stitch!! It looks great in a variegated yarn. I have been doing the single crochet row with chain 2 instead of chain one as it makes for a little bit of stretch.
I really like your presentations, your voice and the levels of instruction that you choose! You repeat, revisit instructions at a good pace and frequency. Thank you!
I’ve just started crochet after being a long time knitter. Your videos are so easy to follow, you explain everything so well. Thankyou for inspiring me to keep crocheting. By the way, have to say you have the most lovely speaking voice, I’m Welsh and have a harsh Barry accent which I hate ! 😀
I am new to different kinds of stitches! This will be my first try at a new one! This was a great tutorial! Slow enough & very clear! Thank-you! Lovely!
Thank you so much, you have taught me to crochet.. I have tried other tutorials.. but I have given up because I can’t follow. Please keep posting new stuff.. I love how you teach and what you do ❤
Loved your moss stitch tutorial and this cluster stitch tutorial also. Looking forward to doing both of them on my next shawl project. Thanks for showing them to me. Enjoying your lessons.
Thank you Robin, I am making prem baby blankets for charity and will definitely do my next blanket with the cluster stitch. You are so easy to follow and I thoroughly enjoy your channel! Thank you
I really do love this pattern. I am going to make it my next project. It’s easy and you can make it in so many different ways with so many different colors. Can’t wait to start it. Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰
you are amazing . Thank you so much for talking to us here on your channel . it is so refreshing. I am going to give a blanket to my best friend for xmas and this is it.......... thank you so much.😎
I've added this stitch to my list of projects 👍 it's beautiful and I'm still trying to decide what to make, whether it be a scarf, blanket, or a shawl! Thanks for the clear tutorial ❤️
perfect timing ! i was just about to look through your channel for a nice stitch to make a warm scarf for my mom :) you are absolutely my go-to for clear tutorials of beautiful stitches
Beautiful stitch, esp with the color change, thanks for showing it! Here’s a tip to avoid having to weave in all those clipped ends, just carry them over, esp if doing a border where they’ll be covered up…Or, carry over the multi-color on the single crochet row & clip the yellow saving yourself 1/2 the weaving work & extra thickness on the edge.
Looking for another fantastic crochet stitch? How about the Waffle Stitch! Watch here: ua-cam.com/video/_F_HdVN0bFo/v-deo.html 👈🥰🧶
Mom's favorite stitch is the Pebble Stitch. She makes all of her projects with it. I don't have one yet.

It's simple yet elegant!
@@HookedbyRobin I agree
Robin this is a beautiful yet simple stitch pattern. You are a good instructor, clear and concise. I can see this worked into baby blankets, which I often do. Thank you!😊
Awwh, thank you so much Pamela. It would work really well into baby blankets. - good idea.😃🧶
This is beautiful.
I've been meaning to make a scrap yarn sweater, but don't want to use the plain old double crochet, that most tutorials suggest. I think this is the perfect stitch for it!
I'm so grateful for finding this video, thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!😃🧶
Thank you for teaching me this cluster and the moss stitch! I really like this cluster combo for my 1st baby blanket.....just getting started! You have an easy and patient style that works for me so thanks again! val
Aw thank you so much Val! X
Once again thank-you for this simple stitch and your very clear directions and details and also always information on the yarns you use and where to buy them and the hook sizes you use for the yarn thank-you.
You’re so welcome, I am pleased it all helps.😃🧶
This has been my favorite blanket stitch for awhile!
Yay! What colours are your blankets? 😍🧶
I don't like to weave ends, so I haven't made any with alternating colors, but I like the look of yours and can see the beautiful possibilities....a Christmas throw with variegated yarn and solid mix, pastel baby colors, bright rainbow colors for a toddler, etc
i really love and appreciate how you do your directions
Thank you so much Janice!🥰🤗

I am happy it helps Michele! 🧶😃
I love this stitch!! It looks great in a variegated yarn. I have been doing the single crochet row with chain 2 instead of chain one as it makes for a little bit of stretch.
It really does!😍🧶
I really like your presentations, your voice and the levels of instruction that you choose! You repeat, revisit instructions at a good pace and frequency. Thank you!
Awh, thank you so much Joy!🥰
I’ve just started crochet after being a long time knitter. Your videos are so easy to follow, you explain everything so well. Thankyou for inspiring me to keep crocheting. By the way, have to say you have the most lovely speaking voice, I’m Welsh and have a harsh Barry accent which I hate ! 😀

🥰🤗
I’m making an Afghan 5’ x6.5’ with this new stitch you taught me! I’m 23” along and can’t put it down. Thank you so much
That sounds great! 😃 I am glad you are enjoying it.x
You are such a great teacher! Thank you!
Thank you so much! 🥰🤗
Thank you so much for watching and for the tip! 😃🧶
🏅Well spoken indeed. soft voice very nice , thank you for sharing. " I love your accent🤗" I'm sure you will get great feed back. such lovely stich. 💖
