  • Hiking/Backpacking the New England Scenic Trail, Menunkatuck Trail and some of the Mattabesset Trail sections 5-8. The trail is a beautiful trail with it's own particular set of Connecticut like challenges. Be prepared to filter swampy water or carry until you get to Iron Stream. Staying at the Godwin campsite in the Rockland Preserve was nice. The platforms worked as a decent floor to get out of the hammock

Have to agree the camera work is excellent. The locations were well chosen and gave a nice feel for the location.
18 mile hikes are not something I’m used to but it’s good to know I’ve the right hair style and enough tattoos for such a journey :)
As always thanks for taking the effort to make these and taking us along.
May all your journeys be adventures and your havens safe
    Biscuits and gravy optional !

LOL!! John! Right tattoos and hair do! We are not aesthetic snobs but you know, each sticker on a race car adds 10 horsepower so, tattoos help! Thank you for the feedback, between Allen and I with coaching from the missus, we got some decent footage for sure! =D I am so ready to hit the trail again but I think I am a bit away from the next trip.
I actually have a couple packs of freeze dried biscuits and gravy BTW, gonna give em a review if I can get out for a multi-day hike here in the near future.
      ATB, Gary.

I remember the jitters starting at Long Island Sound, so exciting.

It is a great start point too. Starting right at the water like that. I really dug it myself.

it's always nice to have an extra beard along for a hike...nice camera work, even with the music, i think that added another dimension to your great cinematography!!!

John, Bro, I had to add another beard for Guilford, that's a pretty rough hood there! lol. Thank you, I needed the music, the mic went out for a few miles and I didn't notice so a lot of the footage had no sound but I think I liked how it came out so I may put it in again just quieter than usual. I dunno.

Oh bro, thank you very much! Bigellow Hollow is one of my favorite parks and that whole trail system is perfect for an entry level backpacking trip between the shelters and mix of terrain. Going with your dad is great too, I just put up a vid of last weekends day hike with my dad.
Thank you again and I hope the new year treats you well. ATB.

Thank you, and I couldn’t agree more! I would love the opportunity to get lost on the trail for days, maybe even through hike it without the need for hotels or what have you.

Excellent Gary and buddy. Man if that camera had some frequent flier miles with all the placement of the camera angles. LOL. Well done. ATB Mike
