Hey Kellie...I'm not an artist by any means but I think this is something I could do. I make greeting cards and was interested in Yupo paper and through a YT search found you. I am now subscribed and look forward to watching more of your tutorials. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Nancy, So glad you found me! YES you can.....inks are very friendly and just beautiful anyway they land in my opinion! They are perfect on yupo, and look great cut out and glued onto card stock. Have fun with it and please check out my online course's if you want to learn more about them. www.kellielynnart.com/online-art-courses.
Looking forward to signing up for some of your courses!

This is the first time I've seen this technique and it's beautiful!! What is the blending solution you used? Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Liz, Alcohol Inks are very unique - and so much fun to play with. I"m using Blending Solution by Ranger Inks. :)
I had to watch this again it's so amazing !!!!! What kind of brush are you using and which kind of micro brushes used with Alcohol Ink?? I'm planning on taking your course I'm working on getting supplies together. It's hard trying to cut cost.
Thanks Angel! I have an alcohol Ink Materials video that has all the info for my courses. ua-cam.com/video/YjQbV6kTK3Y/v-deo.html
What was the white you used? Was it the snow cap additive?
Hi Kellie. Thank you for the video. Do you have the Yupo taped down to cardboard?
Sure Linda! I usually tape the Yupo paper down onto a foam board ....but I was in a hurry with this one (Funny it still stuck!) I think it's because it was so wet with the blending solution.
I missed what the white is....love working in alcohol inks. Just starting myself.
It's a white ink called Snowcap by Ranger. You can also use Pinata Inks called Blanco. ;) Have fun with it!!!
What is the product you put at first? Alcohol or something else ? Thanks
Hélène Rouleau blending solution by Adirondack.
What do you use to keep your Yupo from sliding around?
Hi Helen...normally I tape the edges with Blue painters tape, but I was in a hurry. :)
Kellie are you NOT using Alcohol Ink???? I have some paint but waiting for more UPS I don;t like but I can't have it my way all the time
What do you use to seal alcohol ink on Yupo? Thanks!
Hi S.D. - I use Kamar Varnish Spray by Krylon.
Don't you waste a lot of ink this way? I'm so conservative of mine because it's a bit expensive.
:) True...LOL...this one is a small 4x6" so that helps! You can use more blending solution or alcohol to create the effect less expensively (But often the color is lighter). For me making art is all about freedom and fun and I love the dreamlike quality the wet in wet technique brings. I'm not sure where you are, but I often purchase my inks online at Joanns when they have a 50% off sale.
That's when I get mine to lol. There or Michaels and always with a coupon :) Awesome work!
Aw, thanks Christie! YES - always a coupon lol! :)
You could use another piece of Yupo or a ceramic tile to catch the excess ink. I do this all the time and end up with amazing results - totally different colors etc. So much fun!
YES, great idea Denise!
What is the blending solution made of?
Hi Sharon, Rangers is made from Ethanol; Proplyene Gycol, Methyl ether; Isopropanol. You can make your own or use the Ranger Brand - you can find the link above in the comments. Check out the other 2 video links above on Blending solution. ;)
What type of tape do you use to hold the Yupo onto the cardboard?
I love to use just paint old blue painters tape or washi tape...but just about an tape will do as it won't stick to the Yupo paper.
@@KellieChasse Do you apply it to the back? I have blue painter's tape, but I like to paint all the way to the edge of the paper, which works great when I work flat, but I wanted to tip the Yupo around to let the inks flow. I am a bit stumped how to tape the Yupo without making a border with the tape.
@@lp9088 I usually do a boarder around mine as I like the clean edge, but you could flatten out the blue painters tape on the back probably.
I bought some Staedtler Mars drafting dots from Dick Blick. I think those will work. Thank you. @@KellieChasse
@@KellieChasse How is the Yupo in the video not slipping?
What kind of paper?
This is on Yupo paper Patti. :)
I've gone over this video several times and cannot find the inks that you used in it. Can you tell us? Never mind - you told us about halfway through. Missed it.
Ranger Alcohol Inks - I find mine at local Joanns and many other craft retails. Usually you can find them in the stamping section. Also they have them online...www.joann.com/search?q=alcohol+Inks
which paper do you use?
Yupo paper
thank you. You're art works are beautiful.
Welcome Nikhil and Thank you!
U shouldn't need that much ink..the blending solution extends that!
Kellie, I went to your website and the prices are $30 & $40. :(
Hi Darby! Send me an email and let me know which one you are interested in and I"ll send you a coupon link! ;) These prices are from 2016 (sorry older video). ;)
Great painting. Please stop saying "kindof".
HA...I do say that a lot!
Kellie Chasse I mean no harm. :) It's a really bad speech habit that has gone viral these days. Saying "kind of" makes it sound like you're not sure of what you're saying or doing. It's going to take a lot for people to stop saying that I think. Again great video. :)
