      I am so happy for you on your purchase. You will love playing with this. I do not have the water catcher thing on mine. I usually don't have a problem but when I do either I just go with it. I have noticed after I run my blow dryer a bit the humidity gets better. It is not worth it to me to have the extra thing on my airbrush. But I do see where people in other parts really need it. So I guess it is up to you if you need it. Have fun with your art.

    Absolutely stunning. Ive been pouring for a couple of years and Ive been bingeing alcohol ink tutorials for about a month. Im officially taking the plunge. I feel the need to really simply art and as you know although pouring is amazing fun....its anything but simple! Im looking forward to my first supply haul and the ability to just sit in a comfy chair by the window with a piece of paper, a few colors and a little alcohol and create something stunning and a bit more delicate.
    One question. Ive watched a million videos and everyone I see really drives home you MUST use Yupo paper. You are the first Ive seen using a heat method on photo paper. Any tips there? Being brand new Id love to get my feet wet without paying a dollar a sheet for paper!

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY  3 роки тому +2

      Yes while I love pouring, the space needed for alcohol inks is so much smaller. and more cost effective. I am loving alcohol inks and acrylic inks so much. You will love it. My free advice. ...learn techniques then you can create until your just to tired to paint. Most of my videos is just teaching skills. I mess up, I get lucky and I learn during each video. I hope that helps others to know it is ok play. So PLAY when you get your stash. eloise

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY  2 роки тому +4

      it is easy to do. Go for it. Each tool has it own effect on the outcome of the painting. the bulb or airbrush or blow dryer all have different results. I love my airbrush I have 2 listed in my amazon store but if I were to do it again I would go with the big one. it just has more options on the psi of the brush.

    Li just love your work it’s so Beauitful. I also have the inks that you have.
    A question what liquid do you use, the drop you put on to get the Inks to spread down to make the length of the petal.
    It’s amazing work and so controlled. Is the Gloss paper inkjet or !!!!!!!!!
    Hoping to hear back.

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY  5 місяців тому

      The clear liquid is 91 or 99 % iso alcohol. Rubbing alcohol. The paper I use is Kirkland's Glossy photo paper. Use the dull side not the shiny . Remember to go slow and you will develop the skill. I also try to explain how to hold the airbrush. pointing it away from the drop of alcohol, straight up and down or blowing right on the alcohol. Each has a different look. Go have fun and play. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    I'm sorry if this was already asked, I didn't find it in the comments though. I am struggling with getting my petals to act like yours. I wonder if its the heating up you are doing? I have the air gun and yuppo paper. I'm using ranger inks. but I just cant get the petals to move like yours. Any tips? Or can you explain what the hair dryer is for?

    • @SCARYHAIRLADY
      @SCARYHAIRLADY  2 роки тому

      I dry the ink spot I put down first. After that I do not heat anything. It is only to dry the spot. Then I add 1 drop or 2 drops to the spot and blow it very slowly. The faster I go it creates feathery things on the side. Try doing one with me and go at the pace I go. I also have a video about the petals. Video 100 ua-cam.com/video/25rPl5Aq60U/v-deo.html if you are still running into a problem. Tell me how yours is turning out. I may can help with that.

    This is lovely but what are you putting the inks on? It doesn’t look like water colour paper. This is the first time I have seen this. If it is the drop that we let dry then try a very small drop let it dry then do another one with it. or just be ready with a blow dryer to dry it.
