Good afternoon Alan, I’m wondering what you think of inflatable kayaks ? I unfortunately don’t have any room for a full sized kayak at home. I’ve seen advertising for one at BCF the Pyml one. I love the freedom of getting out on the water in the estuaries in particular around the Victoria and the lakes as well. I saw your video on top ten tips on getting one. Which helped a lot. What do you think about them. Thanks for any help.
Thanks Shane, Nah not yet I haven't and prob due to the fact that I've been doing a lot of kayak fishing lately. But 100% i need to get some as going to cover some cool land base stuff soon in areas notorious for snakes
I live really close to their, beaten that I didn't see you there definitely would have said hello. I go kayak fishing out there a lot and it's a really nice spot.
So beautiful.... nice informative video Alan. Lol. Watching your video at 1.14.am. Going to try Dockland just for my son to experience the fight with the fish. He is only 6 years old.
Thanks David im really glad you enjoyed it, That's amazing good luck with your boy. I think its the most satisfying watching your kids catch good fish. I have had some very proud and memorable moments with my kids in recent years.
Hey Alan I love your content so much I recently got a Hobie I was wondering if you could do some fishing kayak tips. And also if you know any pros or places to learn please let me know. Keep making this great content your educating a lot of people keep it up.
Thanks heaps Leo. There are quite a few kayak fishing tip videos on the channel already and we have a members area with a kayak club which also might be worth having a look at too. I do also on occasions take FishingMad members out who have recently purchased kayaks and live locally to help them get started. Lots of great content in the production, so do stay tuned and thanks for following and commenting.
I wonder if the bream were spawning? I know it's Feb but with covid lockdowns and all.🤣 They were really nice pinkies and snooks are fun. Yaking might be my next thang.
I watch RoKKIT’s stuff as well , he the live bait King however has a lot of bad days at the office . I just moved to Orbost a year ago and hope to get into the fishing 🎣 soon . A good way to avoid the virus 🦠?
@@fishingmad Hi Alan..just wondering….since that was a weedy area…do you think there could be squid there? Have you ever try to catch any squid in that area? Thank you!! Apologies for all the questions!!🙏🙏
No need to apologise, further down closer to the entrance im pretty sure you would get whiting and squid but have never specifically targeted them there. Will have to give that a go next time i venture out that way, this day 100% was about the ultra light stuff.
Have you tried surface lures there Alan...or is the weed a bit much? Every time I go here its blowing a gale...you got great conditions! Fun fishing and yes if you want a feed there's some nice fatties near by.
yeah picking the right weather there has been tricky, was lucky on this day. I'm super keen to experiment next time around with crabs, vibes and 100% surface lures in the open shallower areas, which I think would work really well. Yeah I've fished a tad further down which is a great spot for decent flatties too. Thanks heaps !!
What a magic morning Alan, glassed out. Sometimes those conditions work against you as the fish spook easily. That's some heavy weed there, never fished in weed that thick, you done well. That is a lot of fun on light gear, some nice pinkies. Good to watch Alan.
100% agreed, I've pencilled to go back there on a overcast day and take some mussel vibes and cranka crabs and wreckon we will do very well on the bream.
Yeah Kayak is all repaired and working like a treat, looking at some mods too. Yeah Hobbies really are awesome, the repairs wasnt anything to major thankfully
Loved watching that mate. It's a fascinating spot there. Some very big fish make their way in there. That underwater shot of those bream was incredible.
Thanks Darren, yeah I was shocked at the volume of bream, first time i tried with the underwater stuff and it came out amazing. ill be back there again soon to try a few alternative techniques to temp those bream.
I dont have a caldia although i did use one for some reviews a little while ago, just running with the twin power and luvias LT. The twin power is magnificent the Luvias LT is meh for the price.
Great content and thanks for all the honest tackle reviews! I bought a couple of Vanfords and a Stradic SW because of your reviews and I'm very happy with them. So cheers for that. If you have any advice on a rod for a Stradic SW 10000 PE5 (cliff and rock fishing) please let me know.
I'm really Glad you like them! I paired my Saragosa 8000 and 10000 with a Shimano Terez rod. Great outfits. I go the 15-40 and 30-50lb versions and they pair really nicely.
I really enjoyed watching this. Some awesome action and good video skills as well. Seems to me that having a kayak really opens up the fishing potentials around Melbourne too
Thanks 👍I appreciate the kind feedback as a lot of effort goes into making the vids. 100% having a kayak allows you to access some cool areas that land base just cant reach
Wow what a perfect day 🙂
Yes it sure was!
My favourite fishing UA-camr by the length of the Flemington straight
Thank you very very much !!! means a great deal.
Great stuff we’re was that taken
How deep was it around those boats mate?

One of my favourite videos you have done. Pity the bream weren't on the chew as well, mind you those pinkies make a good account of themselves. 💜🎣

2500 Twin Power FD, prob my favourite reel. Looks and feels amazing and only 30grams heavier than the 1000 I believe.
