    Wow mate, what a session! Flathead are the best bycatch, one of the best eating fish. I can’t get enough of plastics at the moment, I’ve really been cracking the code lately and getting onto some good fish. We have decided to go to Tenby for our gummies. Hoping to run into a few other species too. Keep it up mate!

      @fishingmad  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks !! Tenby is a brilliant spot for gummies. Keep an eye out for next weeks vid which would be amazing at tenby. You'll see what I mean next week. Good size snapper and schoolies in that area aswell.

    That’s crazy some many different plastics and just shows they all work great stuff mate when you have your rods in the holder have you got your plastics just dragging on the bottom or up off the bottom cheers mate

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  11 місяців тому

      Thanks 👍 and yes 100% the plastics are just dragging on the bottom. This works best when there is a bit of drift but surprisingly you'll get plenty of hook-ups just doing that

    Goes to show that most platics work if you can find the fish, use good technique, and use light gear.
    Great session Alan and your mate!

    Absolutely awesome video, yet again Al. i will definetly be switching to this style of fishing, in ppb from now on. Was just wondering if gulp can be returned to the same packet after use. Thanks again mate.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  10 місяців тому

      Thanks !! I appreciate the kind comment. Yes 100% gulps soft plastics can be returned but need to keep a few things in mind. You cant mix them with nay other brand soft plastics as they will break down, and don't put them back in the packet if you have added any scent as they can also break down.

      You're welcome buddy. I thought that was the case, just wanted your opinion. No need to rinse in fresh water, as some people suggest?

    I tend to stick with white and brown colours to match the fish in the area I am fishing... I might need to give some of the brighter colours a try after watching this! 😮

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  10 місяців тому +1

      I love mixing up the colours as you start to get a pattern of what they take in different weather conditions and situations. Otherwsie id prob use Nuk chicken all the time.

    Hi, Alan, I'm really confused with all the different types of rods.What's the go to rode for soft plastics jigs for ppl just starting out thx? Love all the land base fishing channel It's amazing, Alan. I really appreciate all the time & quality you put in to your channel. I also have a good question if you're visiting your family member. That is in Melbourne. Do you need to have a permit deal to fish if you're just visiting? 😊

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  11 місяців тому +1

      Always buy something you can afford. For soft plastics you ideally want a fast action rod, which has a stiffer rod tip. Something nice and light you can cast all day. Good allrounder is a 2-4kg rod paired with a 2500 size reel in this vid I was using a 3-6kg rod paired with a 3000 size reel which is great for snapper. Now if you come down to Melbourne you can buy a 3 day fishing licence which is $10. Don't need one if your under 18 or over 70 or have certain concessions.

    $10 to $13 per packet. It would be cheaper to buy the store or buy fish at fish shop. But it's good to see the lures actually work which is main thing..
