    Hi mate, just catching up on this vid now. You described the slow plastic retrieve in this vid for cold water fishing, how does the summertime/warmer water retrieve compare? I'll have to check the channel to see if you have covered it in any kind of tutorial type video perhaps, cheers

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 роки тому

      Hi Sam, in the colder months certain species like pinkie snapper, flathead etc become less frequent and quite timid. I find working the plastic extra slow helps with catches and hookup rates in summer and warmer months you can work the plastic a bit faster and more aggressive as the strikes are usually more frequent and much more aggressive, I hope this helps, lots of how to stuff on the channel and lots of workshops and tips in our members area. Have a great day

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 роки тому +1

      Hang in there, i know exactly what you mean. What I would say is this is typically the hardest month for fishing around Melbourne. The reason is the water temperature is at its coldest under 12 degrees and many of the fish we target go dormant. I've kinda taken the restrictions as a time to sit back for a little as I know the fishing will be awesome in about 2 months as the water temp starts to rise. Surprisingly I to had a fish at Point Cook not to long ago and also found it very very quiet.
