I just bought one, this exact model on 4/17/23 . It looks like yours is working good at this point.I can hear the water for the rinse cycle staying on longer, the water on mine runs for maybe 17 seconds and spins for 10 minutes,I just found out that if you push the Deep Rinse button you will get a real old time tub fill for rinse cycle, to save water it doesn't just fill the tub at rinse cycle, but I see that I have a problem because I don't get much spray time as this one in this video, so looks like mine doesn't really want to save any water, not sure if I should call the manufacturer.
Don’t waste your time reaching out to ge they are a hassle to work with i had to cuss them out before they sent a tech to my house to resolve an issue I had where my machine went off balance essentially breaking the tub brackets I was told it could have flooded my apartment this tech said it’s a common issue and ge is aware of it but won’t fix it I now have a Samsung front loading set with some leveling issue but otherwise no issues
I had the option to purchase this or the AMANA NTW4516FW. I was close to purchasing this cause it was very cheap until I found out that Hotpoint is made by GE. Growing up my dad always purchased a GE washer and dryer but the washers would always breakdown, never balanced a load and was so loud. I ended up purchasing the AMANA but for some reason no matter where i went and even on the amana website I couldn't seem to find a matching gas dryer so I went with a used hot point dryer. I've never had an issue with a GE dryer and so far for me the hotpoint dryer is working wonders. Only thing I don't like about it is the constant buzzing near the end of the drying cycle and the fact that it gets REALLY hot real fast when set on High. so i keep it on regular lol. how has the hotpoint dryer held up for you by chance?
@@martinsearcy sweet thanks for the update! i've had my amana washer and used hotpoint dryer for few days now doing multiple loads per day. so far hotpoint exceeded my expectations. i just don't like the buzzer and lint filter. i feel like alot of lint still goes thru
Is this washing machine still going strong? For modern washers, you really don't have many choices for a washer you can select the water level on. Besides this one, the only other big box washer you can get with selectable water level are Samsungs.
Mine didn't last 9 months, would fill fill then dump the water, then it would spray twice and stop, then it wouldn't agitate or spin just pump out the water, replaced the circuit board and lid switch for a temporary fix then it started all over again.
This was super helpful, I just purchased the same machine and is making the exact same noise in my basement right now. I was very concerned that it was broken, so I appreciate your input. Thanks for the reassurance!
We're you ever able to get a refund for these? I have the same set & hate the washer. I'm on my 3rd Machine since June 2022. 1st Machine was broken when it arrived. 2nd one lasted until Mid January, so maybe 5 months. They just brought me another on February 14th & it was broken again within 4 days / 3 cycles again. GE is less than helpful.
@martinsearcy wow! They can't even find a GE service tech for my area. I had to coordinate everything myself & hope theyd follow through with reimbursing me. I requested a refund for my machine, hoping I will get it. I can't go though another months long process to get a 4th machine that might only work for 3 washes again. Yikes.
I HATE, LOATHE a feature of this washer. It is the following: When I let it fill up with water, I add the detergent immediately so that I can add the dirty clothes into the soapy water, but if you don’t add the clothes in pretty much right away, it will begin to drain on its own without pausing. I’ve wasted SO MUCH, SOOO MUCH detergent because of this disappointing problem. So much money down the drain.
These new machines are designed to “weigh “ your clothing items so therefore you have to put them in then detergent otherwise it goes through the drain feature
@@martinsearcy Thank you for your response!! .. But doesn’t it make more sense to put the clothes in soapy water? This first always happen but I had to start doing that after on a few occasions my clothes came out with chunks of laundry powder. I figured I should let everything dissolve evenly in the water so that certain parts don’t end up too soapy while others watered down.
Great washer just bought one works really good
Mine worked fine for a month then broke

My mom has been using the dryer for close to a year now with no issues still trying to get the washer repaired

Comforter and pillows
I just bought one used to have as a spare, and while quieter like you say, to me it seems like has no balls.
Did you get a Maytag commercial washer
No Samsung front loader

Why does it stay on soak ? Mine stayed on for about 20-30 min before I just manually had to drain and spin ???
Sounds like an issue with the drain pump
But it drained perfectly fine on the manual drain and spin ?

Glad it helped!
You can check that at the down part, but inside the washing machine, there is no piece of packaging that is stopping the drum.
There was a piece broken on the inside of the tub
How is you washer wotking now, any problems?
It broke about 4 months later went off balance and broke the tub
I ended up purchasing the Samsung front loader set and only issue I’ve had so far is goes off balance with bedding

Ge put me on a do not service list and gave me my money back for the washer that’s still broken

My spin cycles shakes the whole machine. As if it's a drum issue 😢
My first machine did as well before it broke

This thing is a piece of junk. 9 times out of 10 it puts streaks in dark clothing.
Yep mine broke within 3 months and ge refused to repair it
Stay away from the hotpoint garbage. You will not get three years use out of it.
Barely got 3 months out of it
It won't fill
Won’t fill at Alll or just partially
It fills half way
Please help
That’s normal for the machine all the newer machines only fill a certain amount because of government regulations
OK thank you
