    I got the same Daiawa FT rod but in 10ft for $20 here on Oahu. Needed a beater rod & got it paired with 6000 penn fierce 2.Caught a 5lbs bone fish of 20lbs mono with ease. Cast nice, don't have to baby the rod too much.. Best $20 I've ever spent. Now I can leave my expensive stuff @ home. Lol

    The diawa rod is a beast really cheap and reliable and I’ve gotten so many drums over 40 inches and 5 foot black tip sharks and a 200 pound stingray and it’s still going strong

    The mustard yellow Daiwas are excellent boat rods as well. I've got a meduim action 7 footer that has the perfect feel for live bait and trolling for king salmon, sturgeon, large catfish, and halibut. Really long front grips, perfect for setting on the rail.
    I love my Daiwa 9' 2 piece rod w/ 4000 size baitrunner for pier and jetty fishing - if I crack it on a rock i won't be too sad. I can buy another one tomorrow with pocket change.

    Great Vid! Im new to shore fishing. How light is the Ninja dagger rod? How do you connect a 2pc rod, ive always had 1 pc rod. For transport i will need a 2pc rod. Hows the durability of 2pc rods? Im planning to buy the mojo surf but i like the looks of the Ninja Dagger rod better. Thanks for info!

    I just use the daiwa cross cast carp rods, stiff back bone, balanced tip weight and the castability is awesome ive gotten a lot more distance with them than my traditional surf rods.

    Broke guides, for $20 if you had one successful fishing trip you got your monies worth !
    Fishing is what I live for. When you finally break into the $400 to $700 price range you will truly be addicted to surf fishing. These rods truly are phenomenal ! Pair them with Shimano Thunnus reels and your done !

    Good recommendations. Academy sells a store brand fiberglass surf rod for $20 as well that I have caught many fish on. Looks like it's probably the same blank as that daiwa, a little bulky but definitely puts in work 👍

    • @KyleForAwhile
      @KyleForAwhile  3 роки тому +1

      krazy kat fishing I’ve never used one so I really couldn’t give an opinion but for a smaller rod like that you’d want med/heavy like you aid for casting since it’s a bit shorter than your typical 11 footers

    Funny, I was thinking about getting a Daiwa FT to match to my Sweepfire reel somebody gave me. I had a Star Rod in the early 2000s (7" med/hvy) that was my main lure rod for stripers. With 30lb Power Pro, I could feel absolutely EVERYTHING, but you had to be careful not to set the hook too hard! Mine was about $130

    That Daiwa is the lowest of the low-end rods... It's a giant wet noodle... No backbone... That's why it's $20.00
    You get what you pay for…. Most of the time and sometimes you score big time when Walmart or Big 5 marks the wrong price on the rod... Lol 🤣
    I don't buy my gear at Walmart but one day, ... I was curious about what they carried in rods... To my amazement, ... I saw some high-end rods that were mismarked in price, .... A $400 St. Croix rod for $89.00. Just crazy, crazy mistakes… 🤣🤣🤣

    • @KyleForAwhile
      @KyleForAwhile  3 роки тому +2

      Mike Hawk where I live conventional reels are sorta useless. We don’t need those to get it past the first bar here in Pensacola because our bars aren’t as far out. Shoot there’s spinning rods that are over $500 lol whatcha mean!

    • @mikehawk9397
      @mikehawk9397 3 роки тому

      KyleForAwhile 500 and that’s still cheap compared to conventional combos get into the thousand my dude. I didn’t know that about Pensacola I live in San Antonio we have to throw as far as we can to catch these fresh water bull reds in our lakes. And in the gulf we have to throw even farther so a lot of people use conventional down here.
