    If the energy needed to split the water is already stored in the car, what is the gain from the additional stage of conversion into Hydrogen?
    Why not use the electrical energy directly?

      Cos you make hydrogen when and where electricity is cheap, then use it when and where electricity is less preferable

      @@JB206 The car supposedly runs on water - ergo it is cracking the water with energy that is stored in the car.
      So you then need to carry the water, and the stored electricity to crack it - only to release energy to move the vehicle.
      It is like having an EV with a (heavy) battery (to store the energy), but also having a tank of (heavy) water to carry around with you.
      How can that be advantageous?

      @@HardleyJ Indeed. And give that there are always losses in any energy transfer system, this is inherently a flawed idea.
