Ok, just got this light and I’m gonna leave my first impression without actually using this on a grow to inform anyone looking at this light but having problems finding reviews like I was. So I’m not impressed! Lots of complaints so far. 1st - build quality is not great. It’s a little flimsy feeling, the rubber end caps are just glued with a dab of rubber glue and can be peeled back to the glue. 2nd- The hangers for it don’t lock in place in any way. They’re just hooked and resting on pegs and gravity holds them in place. It feels like if the light got bumped it could come off the hangers. 3rd- the rubber glue was all over the light and had I had to rub it off with my hand in multiple places (very unprofessional). 4th- the paperwork in the box is pathetic. Almost no effort. The only information on the light is a folded advertisement showing the par chart and a little info copied from their website. The instructions on anything related to setting up or using this light are almost non existent. It says basically “open box, put hangers on, plug power cords together, plug in wall.” No other paperwork in the box. I double checked cause I couldn’t believe that was all that was in there. For reference I have 3 other lights, an optic 720w, GC 680s, and a migro aray 4. This is the worst built light of the four I have. Opening this light and seeing the product that sells for this price made me want to start my own light company. I guess that’s what is expected when having it built in China but they could at least have it sent to the us for quality control or something. And the design is pretty cheap so that’s not china’s fault. Also one last thing, the box is a full advertisement for the company. It’s like a billboard. Not discreet at all. Bright colors on a black background. No cover of a plain cardboard box mammoth?!? My wife text me “did you get a new tv?” So if you don’t want to broadcast that you’re growing I’d be aware of this. So the good about the light so far…..1- the led boards look nice and the light color spectrum looks nice. More of a bluish or crisp white compared to the GC. 2- the light output is bright. I don’t see myself needing anywhere near 100%. I will try to come back and give an update after my first grow if I can remember. This thing better produce some great results after the lack of build quality and the lack of effort spent on quality control and design. If not this is not worth the money and there are better lights out there for less money. We’ll see.
Dude the lights a beast I don't know what you're talking about. I paid like 760 for the 880 8 bar and although the hanger it came with sucks since it's not low profile. I fixed that with four ratchet hangers. The lights literally a Mammoth when it comes to the erb. Worth every damn penny
@@darrenehhhhhhtill8051 so I’m not trolling. I’m a real customer who was giving a real review for people that were looking at this light. I bought this light straight from mammoth. Just checked my emails to make sure. My review is still the same two grows later. After the two grows I will say it’s not a bad light. It grows pretty good flower. Nothing out of this world but still good. As good as my other lights except for maybe one. It does great for veg but I’m not sure it has a lot of red in it. My growers choice s680 has a lot more red in it and seems to grow the best flower. I still feel the same about build quality though. I don’t have any motive for my opinion other than trying to help others. I disagree that it’s built like a tank. My optic s750 is a tank! This is light compared that, although I have my complaints about them also but another story. Still have an issue with the rubber end caps and how cheap they feel but you don’t really notice after it’s hung. I don’t even use the hangers cause they take up too much room up top and they don’t seem secure to me so I just used ratchet hangers wrapped around each side bar. Not ideal. So my thoughts after two grows is I don’t know if I’d buy this light again. The blue or the now green spectrum they are now using seems a little gimmicky to me and I don’t notice much difference and to my other lights. It’s not a bad light all in all and it’s definitely a powerful light. Ran it at 60-70% in a 4x4 and 90-100% in a 5x5 at around 18” height to get around 1000ppfd avg. It’s still running good, that’s a plus. Good luck finding a light if you haven’t yet. Sorry for the late 2nd review.
@@timpage5021 1-I did get this light and yes it’s in a black mammoth box with a giant day glow colored elephant on the front and mammoth lighting written in day glow colors. 2-mine had like one small sheet in it with the same info they have on their site. Nothing extensive at all. Far from loads of paperwork. I double checked the box for it. 3-the end caps are sealed but with flappy soft rubber caps. Not the quality I was hoping for. 4-mine has 4 metal knobs that the hangers hook on with no locking or clamping of any kind. Just rest in the hooks. Not secure in my opinion. 5-I don’t consider this a heavy light. Actually was thinking it was very light and was made with aluminum to cut weight. I’m not sure what light you got but that is what I got. And last the company is based in the USA but I’m sure most of the light is made and built in China. Either it said it on the light somewhere or the guy on the phone told me they were behind on orders cause they were waiting on China to send them the parts. I can’t remember exactly but I would bet it’s mostly built in China and shipped to them in the states. They might finish it in the states and call it built in the USA but that’s not made in the USA. Do some research if you care enough and let me know if you find out where it’s really made. I’ve read on the internet that it’s not made here at least not mostly.
@@ycannons8 I got one a couple months ago. Your description is accurate. I'm happy with the light overall. First grow came out as good or better than my HLG grows. Lower buds came out nice and dense- the light may penetrate the canopy a little better. How have you liked the performance??

There is some reflection off the floor but more of it is from the sides of the tent. The light intensity from the fixture greatly outweighs any small amount of light bouncing up from the bottom of the tent. But, yes, it would be better to do with a black floor. Thanks for pointing that out :)

This original version is much better than the mint emeralds version, hence the price drop from $1000 to $800. I just noticed they don't mention what kind of 3000/5000k they are using anymore. I wonder if they are even still using Samsung LM301B 3000/5000k in the new green spectrum version? That may be why it's so much cheaper. Also I just went back into the data and found their original Mint White had 469 diodes per bar and the new Green version only has 432 diodes per bar including the green diodes. That's a huge difference. Why add green diodes to the spectrum but lower the overall diode count? That explains why the original Mint White has much higher red/blue in the spectrum and also costs more. The green version only has 3 rows of diodes per bar, and the original has 4 rows of diodes per bar(except the red rows).

We’ll see.
Please update! I'm looking into purchasing these
Dude the lights a beast I don't know what you're talking about.
This light copies electric sky lights…
Not even close .
Electric Sky used cheap in-house LEDs that were gimmicky , and the spectrum from the ES is on the opposite end of the spectrum with way more red. The spectrum from ES is pinkish with a 2700k spectrum .
My dude, your numbers off of a mylar floor are meaningless.
There is some reflection off the floor but more of it is from the sides of the tent. The light intensity from the fixture greatly outweighs any small amount of light bouncing up from the bottom of the tent. But, yes, it would be better to do with a black floor. Thanks for pointing that out :)
@@Ledgrowlightsdepotaccording to Migro it inflates numbers 20+%
@@654rickybobby mmm. I haven’t noticed that with my readings when I compare them to the manufacturer’s readings. I do agree that it would be better to make the floor black. Maybe I’ll make a video comparing an open floor vs a black floor.
@@Ledgrowlightsdepot awesome I've always wanted to see that, thank you, seriously.
@@Ledgrowlightsdepot Is the par map for a 4x4 or 5x5 for this light?
Greedings from germany, i hope my schoolenglish is ok enough to understand me, im not shure🤷 well, i dont like this ppfd its not high enough on the growtentwall or to high in the center, so its not even/evenly enough, and cheaper diodes with a 50-70 degree optik was better and the complete light was cheaper, so more people can buying the light, the light dimensions for 700 is to small, no really strong dark green diodes to stabelisted the green-colour/chlorophyll in the genetik of the plants, and no uvc with dimmerknob, no uvb with dimmer, no uva with dimmer, uv is good for calcium metabolism and makes the plants stronger to protect and defent for hungry little micro pets/bugs,,,,,,,, 🤷 uv makes strong an big plants and its better than skinny plants, and when i dimm the light get all the kelvin down? No, so its not good 🤔 making grow lights is going better🤷 greedings from wrongdog
Facts man optics way bettwr
Mammoth makes a 2 bar UVA/B addon with a separate 100w driver 395nm UVA and 310nm UVB.
@@scottiesgarden8682 really only 2 choices for optics: FOHSE or Scynce.
Inches and pounds 🤣
Im out of here
Would you have commented if he used different pronouns?
It’s 44x44 and weighs close to 50lbs .
Extremely robust fixture .
The price is outrageous. Mammoth with mammoth prices priced them out of the market. Vipar spectra, Farmlite are better deals.
these are just the mints, NOT the mint emeralds!
Samsung's latest EVO chip, in partnership with Mammoth, represents a significant leap
in plant lighting technology. Through a unique spectrum design, Samsung + Mammoth
trials have demonstrated remarkable growth, even under identical PPFD conditions.
For the very first time, we present an LED chip meticulously crafted for plant lighting.
With a peak wavelength at 437nm and an increased blue spectrum, it not only fuels
plant growth but also curbs microbial development while boosting terpenes and oil
production - a true game-changer!
