The new Mammoth Lighting Mint White series 6 bar 680 watt LED grow light for a 5x5 grow space. Mammoth have combined cool and warm white Samsung LM301Bs with 660nm deep reds, 730nm far reds and the new Samsung LM301H Mint Evo LEDs. The Mint Evos shift the blue peak from 450m to 437nm which Samsung report delivers higher photosynthetic efficiency, stimulates production of secondary metabolites and the spectrum inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi.

Shane the Diablo X actually uses the Mint leds. We first tested these in January of 2021. We like the Mint leds and they are now incorporated in all Diablo fixtures at HLG. Great video as usual.
❤ the mint white!
Yeah the spectrum looks very similar to the regular diablo except with 730
❤️ you and the crew Stephen. My diablo 350r's are amazing
To be fair though it looks like Shane made a video on the scorpion diablo x about 6 months ago and mentions the evo's just not that they are the mint white and the spectral shift.
This light been out way before Shane released this video , the light was almost a year old by the time Shane got to it…I would say Mammoths might have come out first
Love the technology going into the grow lights! Amazing fixture and another amazing video Shane!
Gorgeous fixture. These EVO mints are the truth.
I love all that blue.
I'm glad I made the change to leds the tech is getting so advanced today, I love the quality they produce 🌿🔥🇬🇧
Is anyone in here running the mint light? i would love to hear some feedback. My goal is to pick up a mint, aray 5x5 and the new flora flex cheap light and run a comparison. I have some older gavita 1700e's, and a few hlg 350 r spec right now.
Shane, I would like to thank you for your contribution to the growing world. I will not buy a light or tell anyone else to buy a light unless you have done a review on it. I appreciate all your hard work and dedication.
Waiting to see the test on the new mammoth added green spectrum 680 mint white version 👀💪 even tho I already ordered it haha
same lol
Would love that too. Just ordered mine
just got mine in =]
This is it
@@jkukalissr why would we not know that…
Why not try to dim and lower the light and find 1000 ppfd?
Shane electric sky lights were awesome..they went out of business, but no one is making them anymore..
It would be great to see you incorporate that technology into your lights…thx
You're more than welcome to buy the two es300's I have 😂
I've done a little experimenting with down-shifting the blue on veggie germination/seedlings. I've not yet observed any significant difference except on tomatoes. The seedlings grow slower and develop thicker stems/larger root balls. After transplanting, they start growing like mad and get very bushy once they get about 18" tall. I've observed this on five different indeterminate varieties. All their stems and branches are noticeably thicker. This is a big plus for me, as I get a strong afternoon breeze every day. Usually 4-14 mph, but sometimes a lot higher.
Thank you for your very interesting input, take care. Can you advise what spectrum outputs you were comparing?
@@MIGROLIGHTwould you advise using a UVB 310 with a AC Infinity ionframe Evo 3? They have three 395nm UV diodes which seem to be a completely different spectrum compared to fluorescent. I’d imagine I’d have to lessen the amount of UV time and work my way up, but it seems like it’d make an amazinggg spectrum.
Love your videos dude!
@@MIGROLIGHT so the efficiency of 2.52 ppfd/watt in a 5 × 5 is correct ( 763 average par × 2.25 (1.5 × 1.5) ÷ 680 = 2.52) but the efficiency in a 4 × 4 is not 2.12 .... its 2.42 ppfd/watt
Correct me if I'm wrong but 4 × 4 is 120cm ×'120cm so 1.2 × 1.2 = 1.44 m2
So average par is 1145 × 1.44( grow area) ÷ 680 (Watts consumed) = 2.42 ........... 2.12 versus 2.42 is a BIG difference ..... just thought I'd mention it
Holy Keifer Sutherland that’s a crazy awesome PAR map for a 4x4. Nearly a 1000 and over in every space.
Can't wait to see the GML fixtures
Thank you Shane !! Been waiting to see how the mint tested
I have to get my hands on this technology this is going to change the game
Thanks 4 chairing!! Great job 💚
Please test the Omega infinity led light.
Im new to all this, ok so theres LM301H EVO and LM301H EVO Mint White? Is the Mint newer?
And then i know theres LM310B
Edit: or is "Mint White" a Mammoth thing and not a Samsung thing
interesting these different LM301H EVO LED's ..love to see what you think of the new AC Infinity Ionframe lights . the spectrum is visibly warmer for sure 😎
It's the same light for the most part. I think they use the same drivers and both use the new chips. If There is a difference I think ac infinity uses the 310h diodes not the 301b that Mammoth led uses. I'd have to check it out again to be sure
@@littlenugs9942 It's not even close to the same light. The Mammoth is using the MINT WHITE phosphorous coating. IT IS NOT THE SAME AS NORMAL EVO CHIP.
@@brasco8721 I did say for the most part. Trust me I love my Mammoth LED lights. I have 6 of there old light bars that ran the 301b's before most companies. Nothing but praise for there lights.
@@littlenugs9942 My apologies, I re-read what I wrote and it did sound to come off a bit extreme. I was just trying to emphasize how revolutionary the mint white is compared to the normal EVO and I'm noticing most people don't realize there is a difference!
@@brasco8721it's cool. I didn't know there were 2 different types of Evo chips. I just assumed that they were all the same. 👍
I thought they use some Emerald green diodes to
Why don’t you test the KindLED X series lights?
Its great for a 4x4
its really pushing some light for 680w, that's for sure, not too balanced in a 5x5, tho.
True, highly recommend the 880w for 5x5 at only $150 more it's a steal.
Are you going to give an update on your chilis this week?
Is this similar to the Ac Infinity EVO series? in this case the EVO 8?
Cant wait for a ac infinity ionframes review
I saw they added a GREEN diode too, am I right?
Like butter 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤐
hmm i wonder if you put it in a slight bigger space than 4x4, maybe 4.5x4.5 if that would be a perfect distribution of light so as not to need C02
Just use the dimmer in a 4x4 without CO2 and then you always have the option to run CO2 when the time comes!
It looks like they were trying to reduce the red in the spectrum in the mint white diode version. Both the LM301H EVO and the LM301H EVO mint white have the 437nm peak but the mint white version has less red in the spectrum and higher blue peaks whereas the regular LM301H EVO have more red and green peaks in the spectrum. LH351H Deep Red (660 nm) V4 are the ones that I like.
That's exactly the point of the Mint White phosphorous coating. It reduces the red from the white diodes as this is much less efficient than using a pure red chip(which doesn't require a coating which is why red is the most efficient spectrum). Allowing you to add pure red chips in place of the reduced red from the whites giving you a much higher efficacy.
@@brasco8721 that is what the Gyeongsang University collaborative study with Samsung show in their findings.
@@joeymusacchio9816 👍
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi buddy I'm in the UK wanting a good light this looks pretty amazing!
What light have you tested that's similar to this one or better in the UK please
Lumatek and maxibright are awesome 👌🏻
Did they put a sticker of their spectrum on top or is it a tiny screen?? A screen would be stranger, esp since they're adamant against spectrum tuning
It's just a sticker.
Hope new ACINFINITY ionframe lights will be tested too 😉
Hope it too! I want to buy the ionframe 3
He said he was going to get around to testing it oh, it's already been asked by many if you can imagine
A shill for AC infinity I see
I just ordered one and I’m so pumped up bro 🥹 what do y’all think about putting a UVB310 in between the bars? The UV spectrum for their LEDs and the fluorescent are totally different
Forget your Chinese made lights. Buy AMERICAN
Are these just regular lm301h diodes with less of a phosphorus coating? If thats the case, would going back to the old school blurple diodes be more efficient? LM301 diodes with no spectrum changing coating mixed with osram 660nm. Would that be even more efficient?
no
Hey What can you say to "SONLIPO SPC 2500W led grow light"? It is Qualität?
So the 301h evo is not the same as the mint evo diodes, sorry juat confused this diode is exclusive to mammoths new fixtures??
HLG also uses these in their diablo fixtures. Read a few comments down. You'll see HLG commented below👇. I can't answer your other question sorry.
Great review. What about real world efficacy ? How many watts are being pulled out of the wall between the two canopies at an average of 800-1000 ppfd ? As in ROi...✌️
680 watts
@@timpage5021 680w? Which canopy? One fixture is going to pull more wattage than the other at a given (ppfd output) intensity. As in how many watts to get 600ppfd on both fixtures. That's ROi✌️
@@doktorhunggari4415 it’s 1 light. He’s testing the 680 watt 6 bar fixture 1st in a 5x5 and then a 4x4. The watts is the same as it’s the same light. It don’t matter what space it’s in bub. At a 100% the light pulls 680 watts from the wall.
I'm excited about new type of LED diodes but the PAR map is average I would say in terms of coverage.
The 680w is really for a 4x4 flower. The 880w is for 5x5 flower. IDK why Shane didn't mention this.
@@brasco8721he did make a second map with the PAR reading for a 4x4 in this video
Bub look at the second par map for the 4x4. It absolutely crushed it
I run 2 of these in a 4x8 and let me tell you these lights are amazing! I also have an Apogee MQ-610 PAR meter to test with. PAR map in a 4x4 is excellent!
Iv got no idea how you keep the tent warm useing Leds. Iv got cmh and it will only get to 23 with the lung room 19.
Reverse the air flow and extract from the bottom of the tent.
Hello from Ireland 🇮🇪👋. Love ur vids👍. I heard about those mint LEDs a few months ago. I know there is a benefit to using them, but it's not goin to make a massive. difference. More side by side grows(clones) using the different Spectrums. N c what the differences r, if any!.
So this pulls as much electricity as hps? That makes no sense to me.
No 600 watt HPS is covering a 5x5 nor can it adequately cover a 4x4 either.
HPS is antiquated technology.
It puts off more light though
looks like a gavita 2400
I'm interested in the new California lightworks spectramax vertical 1000. 1st bar style from them. Anyone?
Baffles me why companies put out this new tech with "claims" that it can do this and that.Surely they should let some canna growers do test runs beforehand, as in the end that's gonna be about 90+% of their market.Definitely not a 5×5 light either✌️
I’d you get the VPD right for the whole grow then most results will be the same with all these lights.
@@1TheWhiteKnight1 nah not another one of you VPDt4rds, LEDs are trash even if you have your VPD dialed in.
While nice and new I highly doubt these will change the game. Been proven intensity trumps spectrum evertime
i agree intensity is key and some uvb is prob best way too go
You don't think the 880w 8 bar version would be intense enough in a 5x5 grow space? The 6 bar in the video is perfect for a 4x4. Also, HLG is the one who helped samsung develop the new Evo mint white chips. They're using them in all their lights now at HLG. They just might change the game
bro do you got something in your throat or why you do this sounds always...? dry mouth maybe? i love your videos but this sound got me triggering really bad hahah
Enfin.
Ok, just got this light and I’m gonna leave my first impression without actually using this on a grow to inform anyone looking at this light but having problems finding reviews like I was. So I’m not impressed! Lots of complaints so far. 1st - build quality is not great. It’s a little flimsy feeling, the rubber end caps are just glued with a dab of rubber glue and can be peeled back to the glue. 2nd- The hangers for it don’t lock in place in any way. They’re just hooked and resting on pegs and gravity holds them in place. It feels like if the light got bumped it could come off the hangers. 3rd- the rubber glue was all over the light and had I had to rub it off with my hand in multiple places (very unprofessional). 4th- the paperwork in the box is pathetic. Almost no effort. The only information on the light is a folded advertisement showing the par chart and a little info copied from their website. The instructions on anything related to setting up or using this light are almost non existent. It says basically “open box, put hangers on, plug power cords together, plug in wall.” No other paperwork in the box. I double checked cause I couldn’t believe that was all that was in there. For reference I have 3 other lights, an optic 720w, GC 680s, and a migro aray 4. This is the worst built light of the four I have. Opening this light and seeing the product that sells for this price made me want to start my own light company. I guess that’s what is expected when having it built in China but they could at least have it sent to the us for quality control or something. And the design is pretty cheap so that’s not china’s fault. Also one last thing, the box is a full advertisement for the company. It’s like a billboard. Not discreet at all. Bright colors on a black background. No cover of a plain cardboard box mammoth?!? My wife text me “did you get a new tv?” So if you don’t want to broadcast that you’re growing I’d be aware of this.
So the good about the light so far…..1- the led boards look nice and the light color spectrum looks nice. More of a bluish or crisp white compared to the GC. 2- the light output is bright. I don’t see myself needing anywhere near 100%.
I will try to come back and give an update after my first grow if I can remember. This thing better produce some great results after the lack of build quality and the lack of effort spent on quality control and design. If not this is not worth the money and there are better lights out there for less money. We’ll see.
Thanks I've been trying to see if the hype is real befor blowing 800 on it. Please keep us updated your results with the spectrum!
How’s it going so far…I’m up in the air on this or the GC 720……
@@jasonwarmsley5739 I decided to get the p55 from kingbrite after reading this and hearing some other negative things.
I've got a few of these lights - love them. Just ordered another to replace my Growcraft X6. There is a guy who makes custom low profile hangers for them - highly recommend them.@@jasonwarmsley5739
@@jasonwarmsley5739so far I just flipped to flower a couple days ago. 6-7 week veg. Plants look really good. Nice growth. The light is strong though. Like I’ve had to dial it back a couple times (from 500 ppfd) cause the plants looked a little stressed even though I have been watching the ppfd and running the same ppfd as my gc 680s. Both lights are growing equally as good. The color of the mint white spectrum is really nice crisp bright white compared to the gc which is a more orange/yellow spectrum. Looks like the plants have adjusted to the power now and are looking great. I’ll try to report back at the end of flower.
Every review lately is for the US mkt
I am not sure why the light manufacturers are trying to stop the plants from stretching. Plants need to stretch a bit so there's distance between the buds. Hate the new lights
Because u want the light as close to the whole plant as possible...not just the tips and u want to grow as much bud in as small an area as possible
The lip smacking sound you make whenever you open your mouth to talk is absolutely maddening i hope me bringing attention to it makes you notice it yourself and you decide to work on unlearning that cause wow

Good job ignoring the most important factor in that equation... The environment lol. It's sunny up here in Canada, doesn't mean I can grow plants outside in December lmfao
What if it rains 3 days in a row? lol
Dumbest comment I've read in awhile.
The sun is free but it's not the most effective spectrum. If only the entire cannabis industry was armed with the knowledge u have....lol...I'm sure none of them thought of this before dumping millions into buildings.
