I got all emotional over this, I watched it with tears in my eyes.Long have I wanted to play some of these games because at the time arcade scene was literally dead in my country, and I didn't had a Dreamcast and many of them were not ported to other consoles. Thanks Capcom for doing us a solid and see you guys online in the near future.
What I'm most excited about as someone who was never part of the culture (too young) is getting to see not just these old games with fresh paint, but to see those who were originally there experience it AGAIN! This is wild!!
Funny cause thats what i hear from every fighting game youtubers in the past year. From the announcement of cotw , terry in sf. To the capcom collection. Its like we are all fully aware to what max's wants lol. Probably because we all like what he likes.
They're probably going to release the EX collection separately for the same reason the Marvel collection is separate. If they need to license it from Arika, they want it to be on it's own so when the license expires they don't have to delist a bunch of non-Akira games bundled with it.
Not sure how much of a factor that actually is. I wouldn't be surprised if the Arika game rights had fully reverted to Capcom at this point. This is all about maximising revenue, they already had a CPS1-3 emulator for the previous collections and just added Dreamcast/Naomi for MvC2. This collection is them trying to recoup some of the cost of that and it basically has what it needs to get to $50. Theoretically they have enough stuff to do one more with EX1/EXP, EX2/EX2P, Techromancer, Star Gladiator 1, and Rival Schools 1 as a Fighting Collection 3. But they are kinda running out of headline games since a bit part of how they sell these is doing 1 or two things fans rally want then add a few curios to justify $50. Kinda not seeing an EX fanbase begging for it.
@@alsager777 It all depends on whether Arika gets a say here. They did co-produce the game but SF is still a Capcom IP. I don't think anyone except for Capcom and Arika really knows what the contractual/rights arrangement actually is here. The fact this hasn't already happened is a bit of a bad sign here but conversely, there is loads of other reasons why Capcom might not have bothered with this in the past other than the rights situation.

@@zaqqaz Yeah, he used to be the poster boy for SNK for years after KOF dropped and now is reverting to Terry again. For a time they tried K' to be the poster boy but it didn't stick and they didn't ever try with Ash or Rock. @fordesponja Kyo isn't a edgy character, though (he was on edge during the NEST saga, but that's just because the story was dark at the time. If anything he was surprisingly normal and had a balanced life for a fighting game protagonist. K' is more moody, and Rock was always intended as a "cool" guy like Terry (but less "macho"). Iori would be the Edgelord of SnK. Don't get me wrong makes perfect sense to revert to Terry as the face. Kyo worked when KoF was practically the only SnK serie still In activity, but now that they want to diversify, and fatal fury 8s back. it's better to return to Terry.
For those that don't know: Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper adds the characters that were added in the PS port of Alpha 3 to arcades, basically. Yes, Evil Ryu AND Shin Akuma SHOULD be in this version of Alpha 3 in this collection.
But I thought the guy said it won't have other characters like Yin or Yang? I'm glad the missing characters are being added back which was one of my complaints with Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. I was really pissed actually because I'm tired of the console versions being superior when these collections like this come out There's like no strive to make it the ultimate edition so people don't have to get those console versions with the extra's. Like will Capcom vs SNK 2 have that color custom mode for this re-release?
If I didn't know Capcom Fighting Evolution existed, I'd think it was a Mugen mod from the way it looks and plays. How that got out of Capcom at all is insane.
That's essentially exactly what it is, only it's official lol. To me, CFE represents the "dark ages" for Capcom's fighters (and I guess fighters in general.) It was a fairly lazy copy/paste from 4 different cap-fighters, but the soundtrack was pretty good, and Red Earth got representation. It does have it's place in history, but I personally would have enjoyed Tech Romancer in it's place in this collection.
It's one of those rare cases of Making Due With Scraps: The Game Ingrid was supposed to be the sort of face of the new characters in Fighting All-Stars, then got kinda repurposed as their Athena
@goosygooseMX that's probably why they put it in a collection with 7 other games thar would already make the package worth it. This game was never gonna be able to stand on its own so it's the only chance of re-releasing it . And despite what it is, it's still a part of Capcom Fighting Game history.
I have absolutely zero connection to any of these games yet I can't help but smile seeing Max genuinely excited. I wish more people had genuine, unrestrained excitement for the things they love.
there will be a CFC3 with more of Capcom fighting games. Its a series of collections so it makes all the sense in the world they are putting a collection of specific games in a package and rolling them out in this way. Its quite brilliant. Its clean and focused. Every specific fighting game player taste all rolled into one release. Capcom is truly is on its "lets listen to the consumer" fix for a lil while now. What a time.
I’m excited for these collections. I didn’t have access to these or the marvel vs capcom games. What I did have on the Wii was Tatsunoko vs Capcom. I enjoyed that immensely and hoped it would be re released soon.
A PS1 era collection next makes sense. Would also kill for a 360 / PS3 / Wii collection with rollback for Super Turbo Remix, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and all versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter IV.
“The latest Capcom fighting game collection” suggests more to come! I think we got the most popular requests at this point though. Would like to see Star Gladiator and Rival Schools drop as dlc, even without online play and just a straight emulated port I’d still drop the cash to get them included.

But who would've thought it'd part of a collection with Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER, the Power Stone games, etc. I'm wondering if they are going to do a Capcom Fighting Collection 3 and include things like Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
So far we've got a lot of them but yeah we're missing a few. The D&D beat Em ups have their own collection (Chronicle of Mystara) but we're missing Final Fight 2 and 3, Marvel Superheroes in War of the Gem, AvP, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and...I think that's it for the Arcade/Home console 2D brawlers. AvP and CaD are the two that could be problematic since well Disney owns AvP and CaD would require General Motors consent for the name usage unless they rebanded it to Xenozoic Tales (which was the name of the Comic it was based on but everything outside the Comic was branded as CaD)
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT CVS2 in this collection will allow you to select two or more of the same character?!?!?! 3 A-GROOVE BIPSONS?!?!? *SO MANY FENCES ARE ABOUT TO BE PAINTED ONLINE*

Honestly surprised they went all in on the 3D Capcom fighting games, worked out things with SNK to include CvS but stopped short of negotiating with Arika for Street Fighter EX but I guess they have to save certain things for another comp. Really hope Matsumoto makes good on his interest in potentially reissuing Third Strike Online from that IGN interview in particular
I only lament that the two Powerstone games won't have the updated hybridization of the PsP Powerstone Collection, where items and characters from one showed up in the other.
Powerstone was so ahead of it's time, that game was awesome and so unique. I always believed and STILL believe a new Powerstone game would be succesful. They're probably going to release the EX collection separately for the same reason the Marvel collection is separate.
If they need to license it from Arika, they want it to be on it's own so when the license expires they don't have to delist a bunch of non-Akira games bundled with it.
I guess SNK is more lenient on that front.
I believe Capcom and Arika are on bad terms ..I don't see it happening. Although EX is my favourite SF ever period.
@@theonik2006 just add in Alpha 3 max to that list and im sold
@@alsager777 It all depends on whether Arika gets a say here. They did co-produce the game but SF is still a Capcom IP. I don't think anyone except for Capcom and Arika really knows what the contractual/rights arrangement actually is here.
The fact this hasn't already happened is a bit of a bad sign here but conversely, there is loads of other reasons why Capcom might not have bothered with this in the past other than the rights situation.
The moment where Max speak about the JJBA Heritage for the Future game, for me was heaven hahahahaha Max is the messiah of fighting games

@@zaqqaz Yeah, he used to be the poster boy for SNK for years after KOF dropped and now is reverting to Terry again. For a time they tried K' to be the poster boy but it didn't stick and they didn't ever try with Ash or Rock.
TBF Terry is a better poster boy than any of them, edgy characters are passé and he is cool. It's a good call in my opinion but sometimes looks like soviet era photo editing, it's pretty funny.

It was a rough time for Capcom fighting fans then. You had to be there to understand. Lol
It's one of those rare cases of Making Due With Scraps: The Game
Ingrid was supposed to be the sort of face of the new characters in Fighting All-Stars, then got kinda repurposed as their Athena
I'm pretty sure there were better options and they chose one of the worst fighting games ever along with truly gems in the collection.
@goosygooseMX that's probably why they put it in a collection with 7 other games thar would already make the package worth it. This game was never gonna be able to stand on its own so it's the only chance of re-releasing it . And despite what it is, it's still a part of Capcom Fighting Game history.
