    • @pennyc11
      @pennyc11 2 роки тому

      Sadly, I have had to learn how to seriously hurt someone. You need to on this planet. If you or someone else is attacked, you will fail if you take the time to cringe or question their motives. That is what you learn from being beatened, tortured as a child and helpless to fight back. People do not understand if your abuser has any legal custody to you, escape usually brings you right back to them. They own you. It is sadly why many children who have no one to run to end up on a destructive path. It was already created by their abusers. But there is hope and escape. It does require hooking up with people who overcame their demons and can show you the way to live a better life.
      Still, this is the world we live in. If you are afraid? Deal with it because many people become victims or lose loved ones because they are unprepared to face danger and I'll equipped to deal with a dangerous situation. There is little if any option to call for someone to save you or make it stop if someone is in your face. Bottom line? You have to know and be mentally ready to outwit an insane person. If you think you can live forever in denial? Well, good luck. But remember, you make your own luck.

    • @brigidtheirish
      @brigidtheirish Рік тому +1

      @@pennyc11 I think what was meant is not being able to understand hurting another person or creature outside of self-defense. But, yeah, shit happens and we have to be prepared for it. I didn't have to deal with the hand you were dealt (internet hugs, by the way), but school bullies and Cold War era TV shows were more than enough for me to develop a kind of protective paranoia around myself and those I care about. Enough that I tried to claw off a kid's face for calling my dad a loser. Didn't manage to even *scratch* the kid because I was small and weak (still am), but I definitely *tried.*
      Also, very much agree on having only yourself when in immediate danger. Most cops and other emergency service folks are good, but they can't teleport. Even God expects us to help ourselves.

    • @pennyc11
      @pennyc11 Рік тому +1

      @@brigidtheirish Yeah, you get the point. As females we are set up to be victims. It is getting better but when I was faced with the insane, I just couldn't find the support to escape the insanity. To seek help that may prove to fail, the repercussions are real. People kill kids who dare to put them behind bars and groups like CPS and judges often are codependent. Fewer people would do the evil that they do if this system wasn't created in their favor. Many guys are willing to get mean, so they won't have to cook and clean or pay for getting laid. The less effort they need to put in to make that goal, the better. So society chose to create this social pattern to make females pretty, delicate and easy to intimidate. We have been messed over. Men too, who as boys see fighting, playing rough is how you get what you want and we are going to tell what you want or we will beat the hell out of you until we get what we want out of you. This is why girls, you can dress up as pretty cupcakes but carry a knife, some serious take down moves and mentally prepare yourself to seriously hurt someone without first acknowledging how gross or bad that might be. You need to save that for after a criminal is locked up. Not mention, if you are not alone in danger, the other person will appreciate the extra hand. Basically, you have to know what to do, not think about it because creeps will not give you that time.

    • @brigidtheirish
      @brigidtheirish Рік тому +1

      @@pennyc11 Yeah, it's bad all around. Women are set up to be the victims but men aren't *allowed* to be the victims. If they are, they're ridiculed or accused of being the abuser. They aren't allowed to fight back if their attacker is a woman, either. A woman who fights off a male attacker is called "brave" and "inspirational," and she *is,* but a man who fights off a female attacker is "dangerous" and "patriarchal." Used to be, if a boy was interested in art or other 'girly' things, he was assumed to be gay. The in thing now is to assume he's trans, sometimes even *forcing* that identity. Good grief, I ran into a couple bits in the news a few years ago about parents trying to get their *grade schooler* sex-change surgery!
      I've had a... complicated relationship with my gender and sexual orientation for as long as I can remember, largely because I didn't fit any of the stereotypes. Our culture makes some *horrible* assumptions. You're an interior decorator and male? Must be gay. You're a car mechanic and female? Must be lesbian. As if interests have unalterable genders assigned to them.
      And I should've *known* this was all bullshit. My dad's the artistic one while Mom owns the the power tools. And knows how to use them! Mom also likes sappy 19th century dramas while Dad enjoys '80s action movies. People can have *any* combination of interests. And can we bring back hats that have to be held in place with long, stabby hat pins?

    The story of Carly brought tears . The pain and horror she must have felt in her last moments are hard to comprehend . What brings a person to even think of doing this to a child . Let's hope Carlies Law will save the lives of many. Children today are more street savvy but so are the criminals. Children need to learn from parents and not think its just a controlling thing. I wouldn't even think of doing today what I did as a child. I was sexually assaulted as a child but at least I'm alive today. I didn't pay the ultimate price of being a naive child.

    Death penalty seems barbaric to many. Many more believe vengeance belongs to
    God alone. Seems unfair to house, feed, and care for proven evil at public expense.
    Lock them away from the innocent, and if God wishes them fed, maybe he will.
    Public expense and repeat offenders would then be manageable numbers.

    Utter nonsense comparing Carly Ryan with Edward Wakefield. a time when females wed much earlier than their 15th year & unfortunately still do in some cultures. The fact is 15 year old pubescent females do go out in search of sexual relationships & will deceive their parents in any way they can to find ways to achieve their aims. The fact that there are men out there taking advantage of that is something parents must teach their children. Parents have their work cut out dealing with raging hormones of young teens. The physical desires of a developing bodies & that paired with the desire to experience what we perceive to be love cannot simply be switched off! As for Edward wakefield - many men of that era married girls of a similar age. Trying to intimate Adelaide had some sort of bad seed beginning, well, it is both insulting & a disgrace to those with roots there.
