- Steven Ling stabbed Joanne Tulip 60 times while he was raping her and has now been cleared to be freed by the parole board. Joanne's mother, Doreen, says that Ling is still dangerous and that she is appalled and disgusted by the Parole Board's decision. She is urging the government to intervene and stop his release.

People are not sent to prison just until someone thinks they are not a danger to the public .
Lets be Honest i Know 10 decent single guys and 9 women making prison Visits. Absolving women from responsibility and rewarding bad behaviour leads to ignorantly wilfully blind Dull women who often take their own responsibilities for granted putting them in these situations in the first place
@keithwilkins1437 that depends on the sentence, for most life sentences they'll get life with a minimum tariff and that just means how long until they're eligible to apply for parole. If someone gets life with a tariff of 15 years and the parole board decides at the 15 year point that it's not safe for them to be released they won't be released and would have to wait another year to apply again

@@amberwild-ms4co Hi .I was being sarcastic ,but parole boards are subject to political pressure as well as having the wool pulled over their eyes by clever prisoners .

I am a probation officer and work mainly with lifers. If he was sentenced today Steven Ling would probably receive a whole life term. Given his profile I would have thought he should have gone to an open prison to be tested in the community prior to release, he is clearly high risk of serious harm which, although not imminent, means a serious offence could happen a any time. I think Doreen raises serious concerns
They're very selective in what they report, we don't know that he isn't moving to open conditions first, only what the recommendation is. My guess would be that he'll go to an AP to begin with and obviously his licence conditions will be strict and any hint of trouble he'll be recalled
Apparently they tried to move him to an open prison before but the family kept challenging it.
I hope that this lady will help fight for justice for her daughter this is so wrong this man is very dangerous & should Never be released people like that Never change

Thank you for speaking up for the safety of the public. I have a daughter whose safety is worrying me with these releases, as she is in a job where she can be working alone in a secluded room, and she also works in a city 😢 Bless your daughter, may she Rest in Peace ❤

He hasn’t done his full term, otherwise he wouldn’t be appearing before a parole board. Also he should be on the s*x offender register as a means of protecting women and girls when he does eventually get released.
Give him bed and board in your own home with your daughter if you have one 🤨🤨
