Something a bit ironic: After the trial and guilty verdict, and despite the DNA that tied Terry Driver to the crimes, Driver's mother and brother INSISTED that Terry was innocent. Justice has been served is quite broad as a notion. With one girl dead and the other traumatized for life, I have a hard time accepting the justice the narrator is talking about. He will serve 25 yrs with parole? Are these people insane? How come? So that he can come back on the streets and do it again?
25 yrs with parole doesn’t mean he will be released after then. 25yrs is the minimum sentence, the parole board could quite possibly never let him out.
@Pistol Pete Obviously not everyone listened as people are jumping to the conclusion that he will be released after 25 yrs. His parole has just been refused btw.
@Pistol Pete and the USA giving sentences of 100 plus yrs shows just how much of a joke your reform system is. Are you aware that America’s justice system is the laughing stock of the rest of the world? I’m European btw. Maybe educate yourself on Scandinavian reform systems and how effective they are. The US could learn a lot about how to deal with crime and punishment if your law makers were not so blindly stupid and arrogant.
My daughter who tough she knew the world better than her parents, she won't listen to anybody, i will let her watch this video so that she can see how dangerous the world is, thanks to those who shared this story
Several witnesses heard their screams and no one called the police............ I guess women enduring excruciating pain and suffering don't warrant attention in Canada either.
TL;DR It's risky. It can be a man with a gun waiting for someone to come or multiple men. You could also become a victim. I get why people would be scared to check it out. It's the bystander effect, especially of something so horrifying and something that's mysterious/you have no idea what it is you're about to get yourself into if you're to go help. Did they not phone though? That I don't get if they didn't. Anyone could do that smh. I mean, sort of makes sense. People are scared. They go check it out, they too can be murdered 🤷♂️ They don't know if it's multiple people, and with guns. If so, they'd have no chance of helping. You just never know. Of course, it is very possible if he just heard someone coming, not even knowing if it's say just another 16 year old girl, he would run away but she could also be another victim. If it's two men and he knows it by multiple men yelling like what's going on or something, he's obviously running, probably even if it's just one. Say I'm with my buddies, like 4 of us, and I hear screaming, I'd still be scared to check it out since it could be any number of men who are also larger than us and maybe even with guns. I know the chances are low though as usually it is a case like this, one or maybe 2 guys who could've easily of been stopped. If it's me and 3 other guys, I'm probably definitely checking it out. I say that online but irl, it could be a different story. Maybe we don't for all I know but I definitely feel I would. The chances are lower the less people I have with me. If it's just me, idk, I don't think I'm checking it out. If me and multiple random strangers hear it, I would ask them to come with me. I don't think I'd go alone but who knows 😳
Why the minimum sentence? I don’t understand how this vicious killer deserved any leniency whatsoever. And what about Misty? A somewhat incomplete report.
Guilty plea is also taken into consideration. Although he pleaded guilty to Manslaughter originally. His guilty plea remains even after the judge upgraded it to murder.
@@MamaLinz123 sigh. Do you realise that Fox news has more credibility now than the leftwing propaganda you no doubt watch? I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. Since 2012, Vancouver BC has been my favorite vacation spot. Stories in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia interest me the most, because I can place myself at the scenes of the crimes.
Fortunately , his mother is , one of wonderful women in the world. However, I’m sure, it was difficult for her to make such a decision. Thank her very much.❤
Driver's dad was a policeman, and then his son Terry lead a double life, he was pathologically full of pent up rage, he hated the police, he repeatedly committed violent rage-crimes and then taunted the police and admitted to having hurt even more innocent victims. Finally, his own mother reported him. It does paint quite a clear picture of what kind of a household Terry Driver grew up in and what kind of a father and husband Mr. Driver Sr. was, doesn't it? Why was Terry so obssessed with mocking the police? Why such hatred from a policeman's son? One doesn't find police officers raising murdering serial offenders with such loathing for the police very often, nor do policemen's wives often report their sons as killers. Terry Driver was taunting his own father and those poor girls were his revenge for something.
Canadian criminals never get appropriate punishment and when sentenced to life that just means they could get out after 25 years. We have a bad system up here.
The problem with Canada is the same problem here in the US when it comes to serving justice: liberals have contaminated and perverted the justice system. The problem with Canada is there are more European-type liberals there, so it happened sooner.

Both families must have been devastated by the loss that he inflicted. I would have wished the death penalty. He should never be released. So very sad.
My father was so obsessed with us since college and even now that we're adults. Before he said yes whenever we ask for a night out with friends. We will be bombarded with questions like what time are we home.. Who are we with... and he will check with us from time to time..And if it's late he would ask us to sleep over at a friends house to be safe as long as we give him the name and exact address. And whenever we show disagreement and think that he is so strict, he would always say that he can't refrain us from enjoying life but he can't sleep well knowing his childrens are out. He said that he is doing what he is doing not because he doesn't trust us but he doesn't trust other people especially at night.

He won't stop until he has six foot of Canadian clay over him.
Rip to the deseased victim, and best wishes for the best recovery possible, for the injured victim.
He's dead. Died in prison just last month. Good riddance.
@@CanadianCardPickers from what, in the USA this psychopath would've got the death penalty.
I lived in Abbotsford for 2 years while I went to university. It was ranked the most violent city in BC the years I lived there. It's also the heart of BC's Bible Belt.
Kinda surreal watching a doc about a place I used to live. The poor victims.
The Bible belt had nothing to do with the violence there. No I'm not saying people who go to church aren't ever violent. However Gangs of another culture who moved into the area were mostly responsible for the crime there And of course the bacon brothers . It used to be a very nice little community
Terry Driver died of natural causes in prison yesterday (Aug 23, 2021). Thankfully he will never see the light of day again.
Wow, zero adverts here and possibly the first I've found so many many thanks and it shows that they are far from necessary. Best wishes...
God bless the mother whose principles brought her forward. The danger of her son outweighed her maternal love.
Very, very difficult decision.
I'll never forget this. I was living 30 miles from this monster. Even now its scary to go out we have many more monsters around this world. No where is safe!!- Keep safe ladys!! 🙏🙏

I love how the investigator treated this case they didn't tell everything to the media like others he would probably run away if he found out they had so much on him
In Canada, they never do tell the public everything. Not even close to everything so as not to compromise the case.
Don't be like the cowards who never phone the cops after hearing blood curdling screams or someone calling for help. How pathetic can you be.
Rest in peace Tanya, condolences to her family and friends. I hope Misty is doing well, after this traumatic experience. ❤️🕊️
Sentences in Canada are far too light 😟
10:00 the reenactment has me here sobbing dude. I couldn’t work in a hospital, I’m not built for it I couldn’t imagine running out there to someone beat and bleeding like that 💔💔💔
well when a person is in distress in dire situation and has that fight in them to live and seek justice it often unleashes the strength they didn't know that had ... presuming that how this young lady gather that energy and strength to take herself to emergency department.
yes, fear does help
Sheer adrenaline.
What a monster! I dont understand parole after 25 years? There should be NO parole ever even offered.
what about Misty? hopefully she made a full recovery
She did. From what I found she's currently a mother of two, a bereavement councilor, and advocate for victims' rights.

cowardice perhaps?
I can’t imagine what these poor girls went through. Ugh this guy is a demon. Rest In Peace baby girl
Great job, RCMP!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I remember this. Abbotsford is my home town. My brother's went to school with them. I lived 2 blocks away from the first crime scene.
Justice has been served is quite broad as a notion. With one girl dead and the other traumatized for life, I have a hard time accepting the justice the narrator is talking about. He will serve 25 yrs with parole? Are these people insane? How come? So that he can come back on the streets and do it again?
Thank liberals views and policies that are soft on crime.
Oh Eddie. What a silly comment.
This is when you wish Dexter was real
Great police work !
Sometimes tough love is the only choice!!
A good mother turns in her child who committed a crime 👌
My daughter who tough she knew the world better than her parents, she won't listen to anybody, i will let her watch this video so that she can see how dangerous the world is, thanks to those who shared this story
Several witnesses heard their screams and no one called the police............ I guess women enduring excruciating pain and suffering don't warrant attention in Canada either.
You’re insane if you think this is just a Canadian thing. Look up ‘bystander syndrome’.
World wide problem unfortunately.
My parents always told me to scream 'FIRE' because no one will respond to just screaming. But the threat of fire gets peoples attention
@@amypalladino2584 that is so true, although it is ridiculous people don’t phone the police when they hear screams of any type 🌺✌️
Liberals.
@@stanthology correct. Liberal views and liberals policies which are soft on crime due to their natural inclination to devalue life.
@@fasteddie4107 bullshit…where are you getting your information from? Fox News?
Guilty plea is also taken into consideration. Although he pleaded guilty to Manslaughter originally. His guilty plea remains even after the judge upgraded it to murder.
@@MamaLinz123 sigh. Do you realise that Fox news has more credibility now than the leftwing propaganda you no doubt watch? Bleeding heart Liberals are without doubt responsible for the soft policies we see time and time again in our courts. They dominate the legal system with their misplaced ‘compassion’ but rarely suffer the consequences.
The cop said "It's unlikely the crime was committed by someone other than the perpetrator." Excellent work. 👌
Boy i didn't hear them give much credit and thanks to the mother.
Second comment I saw that says this. So sad :(
The problem with Canada is the same problem here in the US when it comes to serving justice: liberals have contaminated and perverted the justice system. The problem with Canada is there are more European-type liberals there, so it happened sooner.
The key word here is ‘could’…he has recently been denied parole. In all likelihood he will die in prison.
@@fasteddie4107 The US is so backwards compared to the majority of countries in Europe. It’s a sad fact that conservatives like yourself are so poorly educated when it comes to world matters.

Aw man... The details were hard to take... I can EASILY imagine beating the crap out of a guy with a bat.... But my brain can't even take the idea of something like that happening to a woman, let alone a girl...
I always thought forensic odontology was junk science, but this case reaffirmed my confidence in the method.
They had DNA from the bite mark too though
I can't imagine hearing an attack and then finding out what happened and how devastating that is.
I know parents good parents especially wants what’s best for the child and his mother knew her child crossed a lime and she had a difficult choice and I believe the right one.
Nice work to my brothers to the north…except the possibility of parole after 25yrs.
I always thought these kinds of crimes only happened in novels and books. He wanted to be involved and kept giving clues.
It’s not uncommon for serial killers to try to be involved and to taunt police. They are incredibly arrogant and narcissistic..think they are too smart to be caught. BTK, the Zodiac killer, Son of Sam, and even Jack the Ripper all taunted investigators.
I just dont understand why they just wont put a cam inside all Payphone booth secretly or having an undercover to duty around there 24/7
exactly my thought!
Because back in 1995 there were thousands of pay phones, and CCTV was not what is it right now. The devices were huge and cumbersome.
pagers then were THE technology and the devices spoken about by Julie Lane absolutely correct Huge and Cumbersome
There might be something to this. Because abbotsford is a small city. There can't have been so very many payphones even in 95.
No damn, justice hasn’t been served!! Why this monster only gets 25 years, why the minimum? However, I just learned that his parole has been denied. He is a high risk for society and will probably stay where he belongs to.
The narrator is incorrect. In Canada the maximum for murder is 25 years. Our justice system is too lineant
Put them back on the street to have another go!!
Finally, an HONEST and intelligent police physiologist, normally they only express the polices incorrect view of criminals
Amazing she got to the hospital. Somewhere along the way I had a part if the the aftercare of this case.. I won't say what agency I worked for but we were horrified about this case and felt deeply sorry for this child. She was so brave.

The actor is annoying as hell. He is so good.
A possibility of parole in 25 years?!😠😠😠 He had no remorse. He bragged to police. He tortured the victims family further using the headstone!! He is and always will be a menace to society. What is wrong with the court systems?!!!
There are different kinds of screaming and you should know when to respond immediately. Better safe than sorry. Imagine how you would feel if you heard screams and didn't do anything only to find out later that it was a horrible murder that could have been stopped.

Not many people can do that.

It must have been so painful for his mother to alert the police, but she did the right thing. It must have been very difficult to know that you have raised a monster. My heart goes out to the young girl who was attacked and the murdered girls family. I can’t imagine their pain knowing what he did.
THAT'S ALL OK AND BEING A GREAT PARENT , BE THANKFUL FOR THAT , GREATFUL TOO , NOT MANY PARENTS CARE AND LOVE THEIR KIDS TODAY LIKE THEY SHOULD 😢 SADLY BUT TRUE FACTS OF LIFE AND THAT'S CALLED LOVE ❤🎉😊
