I love these! The red terrain book from GW was the first wargaming book I ever purchased. I made some of these a couple years ago. For texture I smeared hot glue from my hot glue gun on the low setting and it gave them a really weird veiny look, in a cool way. Like you I did the spikes the hard way and if I did it again I would paint the balls and spikes separately. When I put mine together I found that dabbing some hot glue on the end going into the ball with the glue gun on the high setting made the spike very easy to push in as it melted its way through.
I love the terrain the GW (et al) put out these days, it's so thematic. However, there's something really 'everyman (boy?)' about early GW terrain - where it was about get quick, simple terrain on the board and play the game. Good times.
Great video! I need your help, The goblin green rims on my miniatures keep scraping easily. Im using bright green by Vallejo. Tried varnishing before and after. Tried lots of thin coats. Tried a thick coat. Ive tried sanding the rim beforehand and it still won't stop the rims from scuffing. Do you have a good base rim paint that stays on there?
Just block LoS mate and I guess you can make rules for models that get rammed into the cacti by vehicles or the vehicles themselves getting damaged when colliding into them. House rules are best recommended here I think
1990s style fantasy cactus plants done perfectly, Nurgle, Gobbos and Lizardmen would be proud to sit alongside them on the battlefield.
That was quick mate lol thanks and glad you enjoyed the video

What rules do you use for these? Block LOS and no one can sit on top/enter?
